Alexis felt better. Not good, but better. A quick trip to the alleyway had produced a New York rat which was about the size of a French Bulldog. That and a shower had made her calm down and be not so homicidal to humans.
After her shower, she threw on a pair of jeans, a black tank top and a gray sweater. She was surprised to find the upstairs righted. It had been a mess of disrepair when she'd left, so Killian and Ryden had obviously been working hard.
She found her cell phone and pulled up Killian's number. She sent him a quick text.
Coast is clear. You're safe to come back.
Heading back upstairs, Alexis threw herself across the couch. She closed her eyes. Chances were Killian would find her asleep again, but this time she wouldn't see him as food.

Killian didn't have much to do while he was avoiding be eaten by a vampire so he roamed a bit. He mad ehis way over to Flicks place but found it empty and then opted for grabbing a bite to eat himself since he was certain teh menu back at home was far too rare for his liking. So pizza it was and just to be on the safe side he had them add a bit of extra garlic to it...just in case.
He had just finished paying when his phone buzzed and fishing it out of his pocket he was glad to learn he was no longer on the menu.
Coast is clear. You're safe to come back.
He didn't have to be told twice and was out of the pizza parlor and back in no time. The shop and the house for that matter were silent and Killian wasn;t sure if that was a good thing or not. Ryden ahd gone out to attend to business whatever it was he had going on in the city so Killian made his way up and followed the silence to Alexs' room.
He stood in the doorway for a second as he noted that she was laying on the bed more hten likely asleep...deja vu. Reaching down and grabbing one of the new decorative pillows Ryden had gotten from God only knew where Killian chucked it at Alexis from his spot in the doorway.
"Miss me?" he asked with a smirk.

Alexis was borderline asleep. She had a weird habit of twitching when she was very near asleep. She felt the sensation in her foot. Her head rolled to her shoulder, nearly sinking into the bed coverings beneath. She was surprisingly comfortable for as exhausted as she was and what she'd been up to for the last few hours.
Suddenly, something jolted her awake by striking the side of her face. Opening her eyes, she was face to face with an unfamiliar throw pillow. It was a nice pillow, she'd give it that, but she had no idea where said pillow had come from.
"Miss me?" Her eyes followed the voice and landed on Killian, who stood in the doorway. Rolling her eyes, she sat up and pulled the pillow onto her lap.
"I did, until you woke me up. Where did this come from?" She motioned the the pillow she was now holding.

Killian smirked as Alexis snapped out of her sleep.
"I did, until you woke me up. Where did this come from?"
"The store?...The Brot went all extreme home makeover in here....I think he may have gotten you an entirely new wardrobe to boot...dude must have gathered a bit of coin," Killian explained with a shrug as he enetered the room and sat down on one of the new sitting chairs next to the bed.
"So............" Killian really didn't know what else to say or what they were even supposed to do now. Technically their luck would just keep on getting worse until they did something and he figured Ryden was a part of that.
"Did you have a nice trip?" Killian asked....he was shit at small talk.

As Killian spoke, Alexis took the opportunity to glance about the room. She hadn't noticed just how well the room had been decorated before falling asleep. It was nice that Compton had taken that much effort. It was nice...even sweet...and....
She shook the sudden feeling that went through her. Her heart was still aching for the man she'd lost, so she wouldn't think of Ryden Compton in any manner except for gratefulness for what he had done.
"A new wardrobe?" Alexis echoed the words, her eyes going towards the closet. She didn't get up to look. Any man who could buy her shoes......
"Yeah, it was awesome." Alexis changed the subject quickly. "Want to come along?"
She knew this was not a good situation. Gardener had come back once. And if he was still alive, he'd come back again. Alexis sat up, crossing her legs in front of her and tucking the throw pillow against the actual sleeping pillows.
"Look, we need to get out of here. I don't know where we need to go-or what we need to do-but we can't stay here. If Gardener comes back, we might both be fcked."

"Look, we need to get out of here. I don't know where we need to go-or what we need to do-but we can't stay here. If Gardener comes back, we might both be fcked."
Well that was the massive elephant in the room and Killian was glad that at least Alexis wasn't a fan of skirting around it. But the problem was that though Alexis seemed not to know where they needed to go Killian knew exactly where they needed to go as he had been able to get some talk time with Compton...but he damn well wished they didn't have to go there.
In truth it actually stood for everything he had tried to get away from in life...lives and now it seemed like it was the only place all the roads led to.
"We have to go to Salem."
Killian's voice was low and even a bit disconnected as he forced the words out.
"Ryden can get Mary to reverse her curse and then maybe...just maybe life won't suck as hardcore," Killian explained as best he could with what knowledge he had to offer along with the battle that was going on within him to not be on board with this plan one single bit.
"Then if we do run into Gardener at least we'll be an even footing and not with a sack of back luck heaped on us...I mean I know my luck is shit but it isn;t usually this bad...we'll stand some sort of chance and your Brit can actually kick some rather good ass."

Alexis was personally amazed at the fact that Killian was so willing to head off to Salem. He hadn't shown a huge fondness for the place. She supposed he wanted rid of this curse something fierce.
"Salem. All right. Let's get out of here." Alexis headed into the closet. "And he's not my Brit."
Flipping on the light, her eyes fell on a pair of shoes near the door. He wasn't hers, but if Compton had picked out those, she might have to change that.
"Unless, of course, he bought these?" She dangled the pair of shoes out of the door towards Killian. Tossing them onto the bed, she gathered up an armful of shirts and jeans.
"We need to get our stuff together and get out of here. The later it gets, the better chance we have of encountering Gardener. If he's alive, I'm sure he's feeling better and homicidal by now."

"Salem. All right. Let's get out of here."
"Oh joy oh rapture," Killian muttered as Alexis pulled herself up from the bed and headed towards her closet. Killian really really really hated this plan...it sucked ass and it hadn't even started yet.
"Unless, of course, he bought these?"
"I sure as hell didn't so the blame goes on Compton."
"We need to get our stuff together and get out of here. The later it gets, the better chance we have of encountering Gardener. If he's alive, I'm sure he's feeling better and homicidal by now."
"You know our options suck either way," Killian muttered as he watched Alexis sort out her clothes for a bit before he pulled himself up from the chair and shuffeled towards the door.
"We're not staying long...get the curse off and we're out of that God forsaken place and back home."
Killian wanted to make sure it was very clear that he had not intentions of vactioning in Salem. It was in and out; curse off and they were done with Salem and all of its shit. Killian walked outthe door and down the hallway and into his own room where he pulled a some clothes out of drawers and stuffed them into a duffel bag he had on the floor in the corner of the room.

Alexis turned back to the closet and found a Louis Vuitton traveling bag. She picked up a few extra pairs of shoes and returned to the bed where she proceeded to to fold the clothes and put them inside.
"I know this isn't an ideal plan." She called to Killian as she retrieved her cosmetics from the bathroom. "I know you're not thrilled. I don't need to know all the details of what happened to you back then, but trust me, it'll be ok."
Alexis dumped the cosmetics into the bag on her bed. At her dresser, she yanked open a drawer and withdrew an extra set of car keys. Picking up her cell phone, she headed for Killian's room.
"You might need these." She tossed the keys onto his bed. "And I hope Compton gets text messages."
Opening the keypad, she quickly typed out a message.
We need to get out of town. Killian and I are getting ready. Meet us at my place ASAP.

"I know you're not thrilled. I don't need to know all the details of what happened to you back then, but trust me, it'll be ok."
Killian couldn't help but role his eyes slightly as he yanked the zipper shut on the duffel bag. She had not a clue how not ok it was to go back there...to even think about going back there and that was part of himself that Killian wouldn;t even share with Alexis.
Killian looked voer at the keys Alexis tossed on his bed as she enetered.
"What am I gonna need those for? We all are traveling back...and forth together right?....Or have I missed small print again?" Killian asked kicking off his boots and pulling on a pare of black converse sneakers isntead. He figured he could wear them with damn near anything and they were far more comfortable then the damned boots.
God this sucked out loud.
"You should see if he has a Twitter while you're at it," Killian stated with a smirk as Alexis texted the other vampire.
That was soemthing you didn;t see everyday.

Post by Ryden Alexander Compton on Sept 18, 2009 2:17:26 GMT -4
Once the home of Alexis London had been sorted into its proper state and her human cared for Ryden had shown himself out of the house in order to tend to busniess of his own. He would rightly admit that when he had first heard from Alexis he had trusted her; he had not arrived at his old age by being careless in theose who he associated with. His only downfall...his only mistake had been Mary; the one who he had thought he could live eternity with it had been her who had been the most grave mistake of his life.
His mistakes had now caused the lives of others to be impacted and that was something he could not abide by...he would not abide by it. But just the same as soon as Ryden had slipped away from the house he had allowed his appearance to morph from his cover to that of another guise. The morphed form of himself was one he used in new situations especially those involving other vampires who were equally skilled and could prove to be a danger. It was not an esy skill to master and it had taken several hundred years to even attempt but Ryden had accomplished the skill that many vampires were not even aware they could atain.
He had sorted himself out at his own lodgings and had done some digging as to what exactly his darling ex wife had been up to while she had been out of his sights. He was finishing an impropmtu meeting with an old friend when the phone within his jacket pocket buzzed.
We need to get out of town. Killian and I are getting ready. Meet us at my place ASAP.
So the boy had managed to get her to return after all. There was soemthing strong there and Ryden had yet to fully understand it all yet it did not rightly matter one way or the other.
I am finishing up a meeting about Marisolla and shall be with you both promptly.
Ryden quickly responded back as the vampire before him began to write down the last known location for Mary.

Alexis rolled her eyes in Killian's direction. She enjoyed his sense of humor. It was always good to have someone to banter with, and it was something she'd missed for a huge number of years.
"First of all, no, but that's my spare set of car keys. Just in case anything goes wrong-I lose my set, lock my set in the car, they get eaten by an alligator-you have a spare set. And second of all, I've been around long enough that I could both text him and send him a carrier pigeon. This is slightly faster. It's the 21st century, even vampires have to follow the time."
Her phone interrupted the conversation, giving a sudden chime. Flipping it open, she quickly scanned the response from Compton.
"He'll be here soon. Let's get our stuff in the car so we're ready to get the hell out of here."

Post by Gardener Wild on Sept 18, 2009 22:22:29 GMT -4
Gardener had remained up until a few hours after sunrise. That gave him plenty of time to send two things to Alyssa's cottage-a new skirt from Bloomingdales to replace last night's, and a copy of the morning paper with the two dead young people on the front page.
He slept for awhile, but was awake in the evening. The previous night had been so enjoyable with Alyssa, that he was very anxious to see what tonight brought. At 6:00, he got up, showered and began getting ready.
He had reached Alyssa's cottage precisely at 9:00. He certainly didn't want their evening delayed. Knocking on the door, he took a step back, folding his hands behind him as he waited for her to answer.

When Alyssa had awoken that evening, she took into account the fact that, if she was lucky, the night would be full of violence and feeding, and decided that perhaps jeans would be a better idea than a skirt this time. Finding movement much less restricted she smiled, and made her way to the front door to take in some of the evening air before continuing to get ready for the night's adventures.
On the doorstep was a small package and Alyssa's natural curiosity got the better of her as she bent down, picked it up and opened it. No bloodied body parts... and was sure if she was relieved or disappointed about that fact... but there was a skirt, the same one she had worn last night except this one didn't have a ridiculously large cut down one side of it. Smiling to herself, she carried it inside, as she read the article that came with it, about the two teenagers she and Gardener had killed the night before.
Alyssa was ready long before 9.00 and she wandered around the cottage restlessly, waiting for Gardener to arrive. At 9.00 sharp there was a knock at the door and Alyssa forced herself to walk calmly to the entrance.
"Gardener," she greeted warmly as she opened the door. "How shall we amuse ourselves this evening?"

Gardener's eyes lit up when Alyssa opened the door.
"Well, Miss Scarani, you look lovely this evening. I hope you're well rested. We'll have a lovely evening."
Reaching into his pockets, Gardener withdrew three syringes. Each were filled with dead man's blood. From his other pocket he produced a bottle of holy water.
"I thought we'd need a few toys to amuse ourselves tonight. Like these, oh, and this." Gardener opened his jacket. Tucked against his hip, in a leather holster, was a silver knife. The blade was covered in leather so that he could touch it without frying his own skin.
"So, with that stated, would you like to pay my acquaintances a visit?" He held out his arm, hoping Alyssa would be inclined to join in his fun.
