Fengyu realized they had a problem once they reached the road. She had parked her motorcycle not far away, but it couldn't hold everyone. Unless they were going to walk to town, they would need a larger form of transportation. The hunter turned to Xavier, hopeing he would have a car nearby.
"I got here on a motorcycle. You didn't happen to drive here did you?"
She didn't see another vehicle nearby, but couldn't image how the man could have gotten here from New York without his own transportation.

Xavier halted when Fengyu asked about transportation. Uh oh, he thought. He tried to think of some way to get out of this without revealing the angel part, but he was finding it difficult.
"I..." he was going to say walked but he stopped himself. His vessel had a car, it was still parked in his garage at his home. If he could just find enough strength to move it from there to here he would be fine. "I parked further that way," he said, gesturing towards there right. He started walking in the direction he had pointed, gathering as much strength as he could.
The road went uphill a bit, shielding the road ahead of them from sight. He used that moment to summon the car and, when they had gone over the mound, was relieved to see his vessel's car parked on the side of the road. "There she is," he said happily. "Your chariot awaits."

The boys were visibly relieved when Xavier's car finally came into view. The walk had been a long one for them, especially considering their weakened state. Fengyu was glad to see it as well. The walk to town would have definitely been too much for them, and she didn't have a helmet to spare.
"Do you think you can drive them to town alone? I do not wish to leave mike bike in these woods."
She had gone through a good feal of paperwork to get her motorcycle to the States, and she didn't want to risk it being stolen.

Xavier nodded and opened the door to the backseat of the car, gesturing for the boys to get in. He put a hand in his pocket and was happy to find a cellphone in it. He pulled it out and tossed it to the boys.
"Call your parents," he said. "They'll want to know you're safe."
He closed the door behind them and moved around to the drivers side door, checking his pockets for car keys which, thankfully, were in there. He turned to Fengyu before getting into the car.
"Meet back in town?" he asked, he still had his more angelic job to do. "I believe you promised me a story."

Fengyu nodded affirmative before jogging in the direction of her bike. She was looking forward to talking with Xavier outside of the hunt, she'd only met him twice but he seemed like a nice guy. The man was definitely more lighthearted than most hunters she had met.
She found her bike where she had left it, hidden just off the side of the road. Not wasting any time, the hunter started the engine and was on the road to town.

The drive back to town was relatively pleasant. Xavier had been led to believe that children in cars was similar to some forms of torture but the boys were very quiet, simply staring ahead of them. The only time they spoke was when one of them, the older one, had asked Xavier to turn on the radio so the car ride was 'less creepy.'
The boys had spoken to their parents, assuring them that they were safe and would be home soon. And by the time they'd finally made it back into town, they'd even decided on a pizza place to eat at. Xavier parked outside the restaurant in the most obvious place he could find so that Fengyu would be easily able to spot them, and followed the boys inside. They got strange looks as they sat down, but Xavier managed to put everyones mind on something other than two little boys, caked in dirt, sitting with a strange man. The boys ordered excitedly and Xavier smiled, it was good to see them in high spirits. He folded his arms and leant back in his seat. He wasn't eating, instead, he just made sure the boys got their fill as they waited for Fengyu.

The boys had already started on their food when Fengyu entered the restaurant. A surprise phone call from home had delayed her arrival. One of her uncle's contacts in Massachusetts had turned up a lead on her brother. It was a good find, but investigation could be put off until tomorrow. After taking down two rawheads she had earned some time to relax.
"Sorry I am late, I had to take phone call." The hunter explained as she slid into the booth next to Xavier.

Xavier smiled and moved over a little bit to give Fengyu room as she sat down beside him. "No problem," he said. "We kept ourselves busy." Well, the boys had at least, they'd devoured almost a whole pizza and had done it quite cleanly as well. It seemed they didn't want to waste a single bit of it.
Two pizza's had been ordered and before the boys could demolish the second one, he pulled it closer to him and Fengyu, raising an eyebrow questioningly. "Pizza?" he offered. He glanced at the boys. "Apparently its good."

"I think I was still in university the last time I had pizza." Fengyu said as she pulled a slice off the pan.
The boys were still digging into the pizza, she wondered how long they had gone without food. The hunter hadn't seen food disappear this fast since she had been a child training alongside her brother and cousins.
"We you able to get ahold of thier parents?" She asked beofre taking a bite of the pizza.

"I can't even remember the last time I ate pizza," Xavier said. This was mainly because he'd never eaten pizza before in his existence. As he looked at the pizza, he decided that perhaps his vessel needed feeding, and picked up a slice, examining it before putting it in his mouth. To his surprise, it tasted good, delicious even, and he went back for a second slice.
"Were you able to get a hold of their parents?"
Xavier turned to Fengyu, his eyebrows raised questioningly and his mouth full of food. He nodded and quickly swallowed the pizza in his mouth. "Um, yes, their parents know where they are, that they are safe, and I think they're coming to pick them up at some point."

"Good"
Fengyu wanted to wait until the boys were returned to their parents before telling Xavier about Mujing. The kids were scarred enough without listening to one of their rescuers talk about killing her own flesh and blood. Family had been important to her as a child, a refuge from a dangerous world. Up until recently the hunter had never considered that an enemy could come from that place of safety. The boys shouldn't have that protective feeling taken from them so young.

Xavier turned back to the pizza. If this was what food was like then he would be eating more often.
One of the boys made an excited noise and bolted from his seat, closely followed by the other, to the door of the restaurant where they were swept up into their parents' arms. Xavier smiled as he watched the reunion. He knew that most of his brethren liked to focus on the bigger picture, the sacrifice of individuals for the greater good, but the more time Xavier spent on earth, the more he realised that the bigger picture was made up of the individuals and without them, what was the point?

Dealing with the parents took a few minutes. Fengyu had dealt with grateful parents before, but had never been hugged by one of them. Westerners were certainly more open about their feelings. Neither set of parents bothered to ask what she or Xavier were doing out in the woods, so the hunter didn't bother to offer an explanation. The families didn't stay long, it was clear that after their meal, the boys were ready to pass out.
"It is always good to see families back together," Fengyu said to the other hunter when the group had left.

Xavier nodded at Fengyu's statement. Family was all Xavier really had so it saddened him to see families broken. Speaking of which...
"So, this brother of yours, he ran away?" He turned to Fengyu with his most comforting expression on his face.
Not exactly the most subtle way to start the conversation but it was to the point. If she didn't want to tell him then she didn't want to tell him, but he was pretty sure she wanted to share her problem with someone. It was a lot to bear for one person.

"It's a bit more complicated than that." Fengyu explained. "You see, my family has been hunting the supernatural for generations, Sen children are trained for the life from early childhood. My brother and I were no different. Every member of the family is expected to do his or her duty, put the lives of the helpless above their own."
The commitment to protecting others was a core belief in her family. One she had never thought to question. Mujing had, once or twice, but before the attack had never acted on those questions.
"A few months ago my brother flew back home for his birthday. He seemed different, colder. I didn't think much of it at the time, Mujing and I haven't be on the best of terms for many years. Soon after his return a group of demons made it past the defenses of our family complex -- Defenses that had protected our home for generations. When we had fought them off we discovered that my father, the head of the Sen family, was dead, and my brother was missing. At first we assumed he had been kidnapped, but now it looks like he may have been involved with the whole thing."
The thought of her brother willingly betraying the family made Fengyu's chest tighten with both anger and sadness. She wondered if there was something she could have done to prevent all of this.
"My eldest uncle sent me here to find my brother, and now to kill him. The demon he is connected with is a very dangerous one, Lilith." The hunter's voice was grim. "Whatever plans Mujing has gotten himself involved in, I must stop them."
