The Pennsylvania woods were deadly silent as Fengyu moved through them, rifle in hand and tazer in stored in a holster. Four children had gone missing from the small town in the past month, and the hunter was sure that a rawhead was responsible for them all. She was pretty sure the monster was stashing the kids in an abandoned ranger station located not far from where she was standing.
If there was one thing Fengyu hated, it was when children became casualties of the supernatural. She hadn't hesitated to set aside her mission to find her brother when she had caught wind of the hunt - not that she had picked up any leads since Alexis anyway.
A cracking branch alerted the Taiwanese woman to something behind her. Spinning around, Fengyu raised her weapon to the ready position.

Xavier had been racking his brains for a way to talk to Fengyu without the hunter/civillian barrier and he'd almost given up when she gave him the perfect opening. She'd gone on a hunt. He hadn't expected her to keep doing her job what with all the family drama. But he admired that she did. So, when she'd gone out to hunt the rawhead, he'd found himself a taser and his vessel's personal handgun and gone into the woods after her.
He saw her slightly ahead of him and quickened his pace. A branch snapped loudly beneath his feet, causing Fengyu to spin around and point her rifle at him.
"Woah," he said, raising his hands in surrender. He frowned at her slightly. "Hey, don't I know you?"

It was the man from the church. She didn't lower her weapon. Meeting him in rural New York and Pennsylvania was either a coincidence or deliberate, and Fengyu didn't believe in coincidence. Maybe the attack on her family had made her paranoid, but something about this man seemed inhuman to her -- a quality she had somehow overlooked during they're previous encounter.
"Christos."

Xavier could see that Fengyu didn't trust him. He had shown up out of the blue, first in New York and then now in Pennsylvania. He wouldn't trust him either. But he had to laugh when she had spoken his Father's name in an attempt to discover his true nature.
"I'm not a demon," he said, the smile still on his face. "I promise. I'm just a guy, trying to do a job. Although, I admit, it is strange to be meeting again one state over from our first meeting... you're not following me are you?"

Fengyu relaxed when the man relaxed in response to her invoking the name of God. The thoughts 'not a demon' was followed shortly by 'he's got a nice laugh.' She pushed the second thought to the back of her mind and focused on the fact that he had known why she had said 'Cristos.' Lowering her gun, the young woman took the opportunity to take a good look at the man and noticed that he was carrying both a handgun and a tazer.
"You're the one sneaking up behind me. Are you a hunter?"

"I wasn't sneaking up behind you," Xavier lied defensively. "I was sneaking, the fact the I was behind you just means you're faster than me." He nodded. "Yeah, I'm a hunter. Judging by your vocabulary, I'd say you are too." He lowered his hands now that her gun was no longer pointed at him. "I'm after a rawhead, you wouldn't happen to know where it is, would you?"
This was going well, she was relaxing around him. This was definitely going to make things easier.

"You would be correct." Fengyu said. "There is an abandoned ranger station not far from here, I believe it is where the rawhead is holing up." She pointed in the direction she had been headed. "So what was your plan? Wander around until you find the thing?"
It occurred to her that although this was their second meeting, she still didin't know his name. "I'm Fengyu Sen, by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Fengyu Sen," Xavier said with a smile. "My name is Xavier. And no, that was not my plan. My plan was.... to come up with a plan... it usually works out for me in the end."
He walked closer to her, looking thougthful. "And abandoned ranger station, you say?" he asked. "It would be my honour to company such a fair maiden as yourself on this dangerous journey." He smiled widely at her. "May I?"

Fengyu gave Xavier a skeptical look, going into a situation without some sort of a plan was a sure way for a hunter to get killed. Her father had pounded the necessity of knowing what she was hunting, how it was killed, where it was located, and when it should be hunted into her head since she was old enough to begin training. Apparently others used different approaches to hunting.
"Well I guess it worked out for you this time."
The young woman laughed when Xavier asked to go with her. Whatever questions she may have about his hunting techniques, his charm could not be denied. It would be nice to have someone watching her back, Fenyu had been hunting on her own since she had left Taiwan.
"It would be an honor, kind sir." She replied, bowing slightly.

Xavier laughed as Fengyu accepted his offer with a small bow. It was good to see her acting so normal despite the terrible duty she had been charged with. He gestured for her to lead the way and fell into step beside her.
He watched her out of the corner of his eye, being careful not to get caught staring. She was a beautiful, determined young woman. He wondered what her life would have been like if she hadn't been raised by hunters.
"I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're a long way from home," Xavier said after a few moments of silence.

"Half way across the world, I am from Taiwan. What about you?"
The ambient noise of the woods around them was getting quieter as they approached the station. If Fengyu had any doubts about the abandoned building being the rawhead's lair, they were effectively silenced. The natural wildlife had picked up on the creature's malevolent presence and fled. The hunter switched out her rifle for the tazer.
"We're close." she said softly.

"Chicago," Xavier said. Well, that was where his vessel was from anyway. "And you're here because of your brother?"
Xavier noticed the lack of noise as the got closer to the station, and suddenly everything about Fengyu said 'hunter.' He followed her lead and pulled out his taser, angel smiting powers would be a tad inappropriate at the moment.
He could feel the evil in the rangers station and had to admit, he was impressed with Fengyu's skills as a hunter.

Fengyu's chest tightened a little when Xavier mentioned her brother. She was a little startled that the man had known about it, but then remembered that she had mentioned her family problem's in the church.
"Mujing, a long story best told elsewhere. Maybe after we kill this thing?" She said, hoping he would accept the offer. It would be nice to be able to talk to a hunter outside of her family about the whole thing.
The station was now looming just ahead of the pair, moving silently Fengyu made her way to the main door and slipped inside. The smell of decaying flesh hit her immediately nearly making her gag. Clicking on her flashlight, the hunter began to search the building. They had entered the lair, now it was time to take down the beast.

Xavier nodded. "You got it," he said. After vanquishing evil was an absolutely fine time to talk.
The rawhead's lair was dark and silent. Xavier felt as though every step he made echoed far too loudly throughout the station and winced everytime his foot hit the ground. But then he heard something that he was sure was neither him nor Fengyu and he froze, listening as hard as he could. There was a dragging sound, like someone was limping within the station. Try as he might though, the stench of evil was all through the lair and he couldn't pinpoint it's location.
"It's watching us," Xavier whispered to Fengyu, unsure whether she had heard it or not. "It's close."

Xavier's ears were sharper than hers, Fengyu didn't catch the sound of the rawhead's movements until after he had alerted her to it's presence. She pointed the flashlight in the direction of the sound, catching a brief glimpse of the monster as it vanished into the lower levels of the station.
"该死!" She hissed before she followed the rawhead down the stairs.
(OOC: 该死 = Damn)
