The hunter smiled slightly at Lenore's introduction, "I am Fengyu Sen."
Her smile faded as she turned her attention back to Alexis, apparently her concern over Mujing's disappearance had diminished her acting skills.
"You are right Alexis, about it being personal. The missing boy that went missing is my brother. Someone took him and killed my father to do so."
The sick feeling of grief settled in her stomach, Fengyu had still not had enough time to mourn her father's death, she had left for America before her mother had even set fire to his body.
Push past it, she told herself quietly, the dead are beyond help.

Alexis moved her eyes back and forth between the two. For the moment, the stress of the situation seemed to have been difused.
"Your brother? What was valuable that someone else needed him badly enough to kill for it?"
Alexis was pleased to have an answer to that question. Now that she had confirmation of why the subject was so touchy, she could help further.
"What can we do for you?" She included the other vampire. She wasn't sure if the other girl would want to be included, but she was going for it anyway.

Lenore felt sympathy for Fengyu when she said that her father had been killed, the vampire knew from personal experience how hard it was to loose a family member. She could imagine how worried the young woman must be over her missing brother. Despite their earlier conversation, Lenore was still surprised when Alexis offer to help. Lenore looked over at the other vampire and gave the faintest of smiles.
After so much time away from her vampiric family, it was good to not be so alone in the world of humans.

"I not know why he was taken, my mother and uncle are still combing through the family archives for clues. I thank you for any help you could offer. Alexis, the symbol I showed you was tattooed onto the bodies of the dead attackers. We believe that the rest would have similar markings."
Fengyu was grateful to finally be able to speak fully of the marks origins. Hopefully the added details would help in locating the men that took her brothers.

Alexis listened as the girl spoke. She remembered vaguely of her mentioning a symbol.
"Let's take a look." Alexis motioned both of them to follow her upstairs.
In the apartment above the store, Alexis kept a large storage of books on various topics. One of them surely had to contain some bit of information. She headed upstairs and towards the apartment, hoping the girls would follow her footsteps.

Lenore felt unwell when she reached the top of the stairs, it had been too long since she had hunted. No matter how much she wanted to help, staying in the city would be a bad idea. Finding a pad of paper and a pen near the register she wrote down her cell phone number.
"I can't stay right now," she said to the other two women, "Until I can get blood into my system, I'd be more of a liability to both of you. I'm leaving my number here, call if you ever need my help."
Pulling up the hood of her sweatshirt, she walked out the door.

Fengyu followed Alexis up the stairs, pulling the drawing of the mark out of her pocket once again. With any luck, Alexis would find something useful. It had been too long since Mujing had been taken from her family, and every day made her more certain that she might never see her brother again.
She watched as Lenore walked out of the store, pondering her words before a question popped into her head. "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you two eat?"

Alexis was flipping idly through a book as she heard the other vampire declare that she was leaving to feed. That meant her attempts to get the girl strong enough had been successful, and that was good for both of them. Alexis could at least take that one off her conscious. Maybe that was why she never slept well.
"It's better that way." She slipped the number into her address book. "Trust me."
Turning to the human girl, Alexis raised an eyebrow.
"What do you think we eat?" She asked, not really expecting an answer. Grabbing a stack of books from the shelf, Alexis handed two to the other girl.
"Start with these two. Let me know if anything catches your eye."

Fengyu almost responded to Alexis's question before she realized it was rhetorical. Not wanting to risk angering her new ally, the hunter dropped the subject and began going through one of the books the vampire had handed her. She couldn't tell what language it was in, the writing system used the same letter as English, but Fengyu could only understand a few of the words. Frowning slightly the Taiwanese woman focused on the pictures, mentally comparing them to the mark she had brought with her.

Alexis laid the books on the table in front of her, turning one page in each book at the same time. Her mind raced over any potential symbols that could be associated with the girl's predicament.
The book under her right hand turned out a page filled with cult symbols over the ages. Those caught her eye. Vaguely, she remembered that the girl's brother had been in school.
"Look at these." She pushed the book towards the girl. "Take a look. Do these look similar?"

Fengyu had just closed the first book when Alexis spoke. Curious as to what the vampire had found, she turned the book towards herself and closely examined the pictures. The hunter's heart stopped when she saw the correct symbol on the page.
"It's this one!" she said, pointing to the upper left page.
The tense knot in her gut eased slightly, after all this time it was good to have finally found something. Fengyu quickly read the text next to the image.
"Who is Lilith?"

Alexis frowned at the symbol. It appeared to be a very high tiered demon's emblem. And no good to come from a human encountering a high tiered demon.
At the name the girl dropped, Alexis froze. She'd heard of that particular demon before. For a moment, she tried to remember where. And then she realized it was the name that the demon who had shown up in her store a few weeks back-the one she had supposedly sided against.
"A high tiered demon." She murmured, keeping her eyes glued to the symbol. "It looks like someone got your brother mixed up with a nasty demon."

"I know that name from somewhere."
Fengyu turned the name over in her head a few times, it was somehow familiar to her. It wasn't from her father or uncles, Mujing hadn't mentioned her either. One of his school friends perhaps? The memory came to her suddenly, something Mujing's roommate had told her.
"There was a girl at his school. . .Lilith. Mark said the two were close. . ."
The blood drained from the hunter's face. If Mujing had associated with the demon at school. . .surely her brother wouldn't have made a deal. He wouldn't, such an action went against everything they had been taught as children! Fengyu shook her head, as if trying to rid herself of the disturbing line of thought.
"It could just be coincidence, couldn't it?" Her voice came out weak, almost pleading.

Alexis felt bad for Fengyu. The girl was clearly beginning to understand what was happening. Or rather-what had happened. Alexis knew her suspicions about the brother were true. The boy had fallen in with some type of bad crowd.
"I'd be lying to you if I told you it was just a coincidence. You know that as much as I do." Alexis put her hand on the girl's shoulder and guided her into a chair. "Sometimes, we may think we know a person, but circumstances can change them."
Alexis considered what she'd just said. The right circumstances could change anyone. She wished Jon would get back. She wanted to tell him the situation, see if he couldn't help them sort it out.

Fengyu felt like everything was begining to fall apart, if Mujing had fallen in with demons then . . .it fit. All the questions about the attack could be explained. It killed her to admit it, but her brother's involvement was possible.
"We never got along with each other that well. . ."
That was an understatement. In the last few years the two had hardly seen each other outside of sparring. Mujing had constantly been trying to out do her, and she had done nothing to help him. Had she driven him to betray their family?
