It had only been a day since Sam and Dean had recieved another cryptic message from their father. The fact that it felt as if they were doing nothing but running in circles was easily grating on Sam's already shattered nerves.
The Sundance Inn Room 176 was where the Winchester brothers were currently calling home. The green fading carpet and musty smelling floral comforters provided a rather typical sense of comfort for the boys.
Sam’s temper had been on edge since he couldn't even pin point when any more. Perhaps it had been since the vampire nest or maybe it had been when he had walked away from Dean on the side of the road he couldn't remember any more.
"It's not that hard to understand Dean. He has us running around in circles without giving us a reason why or even a purpose it is like he feels the need to drive us further away from the demon then closer to it. How are we supposed..."
Sam never got a chance to finish the rest of his sentence because a vision violently side tracked him.
Sam had vision’s enough times that he had almost grown used to the searing pain that cut its way across his mind, but something was different about this one. The conversation with Dean had come to a screeching halt as soon as the vision had ripped its way into his head. There was usually some type of warning, some throbbing in the back of his head or pressure behind his eyes but this one just poured over him.
There were too many scenes and they all flashed before him too fast. The screams and cries were suddenly mixed with his own cry of pain as he felt his knees give out from under him as he sank to the grimy motel carpet.
The images flashed painfully in front of Sam and they were too quick and too jumbled for him to be able to grasp what was going on.
He clenched his eyes tighter trying to focus and pull something from the vision.
The images slowed suddenly and he was able to focus there wasn’t a lot to focus on but it was enough. There was a man or a demon he couldn’t tell yet but he was standing in the center of a circle which was surrounded by flickering candles. The room around him was dark and there was a body in the center of the room the man was uttering words in a language Sam had never heard before. And then the demon shifted his eyes and it seemed as if he was staring directly into Sam’s mind.
He was pretty used to the pain the visions brought with them as they tore their way across his mind but this one brought a whole new sense of pain with it and it felt like his head would explode any minute.
“Dean…” he managed to groan as a trickle of blood dripped from his nose.

Dean sat upon the edge of his bed as Sam stood before him, the constant bickering between the pair had increased ten fold and slowly but surely it had begun to wear down upon him. His eyes never left the barrel of the gun he held in his hands as he meticulously cleaned it, took it apart, cleaned it some more and then re-assembled it with what could only be described as the greatest of ease.
His eyes immediately shot up to Sam as he saw fit to once more bring their father into the equation and he shot up from the bed and immediately found his way in front of his brother. “He is our father Sam...he is the one that has been chasing that son of a bitch since the day it took our mom away and you know that...” Dean stopped speaking and simply stared back at Sam for the briefest of moments “He is our dad, that is rhyme and reason enough for us to do as he says.” he added quickly, the undeniable faith that Dean held in his father all too evident in his voice “Now all we gotta do is....”
Dean's brotherly instincts kicked in almost one cue as Sam showed all the signs of a crippling vision and his hands clenched at his shoulders as his knees gave out beneath him. “Sam....Sammy...” he cried out, the pair of them dropping to the floor as the vision continued it's onslaught. Dean knew better than to try to snap his brother out of these sorts of moments and as Sam finally seemed to come to and groan out his name, Dean leaned him back against the edge of the bed and quickly wiped the blood from across his face.
“Sammy....” he whispered, the air of concern all too evident in his tone and he held Sam's head up gently “What did you see Sam?” he asked quickly.

Sam’s own eyes seemed locked with those of the demons and as much as he wanted to look away and as much as the pain tore through him he could do nothing but stare the agony tearing through him as voices laced with pain and malice seemed to scream all around them. As loud and as clear as everything was it was all suddenly gone and Sam found himself staring back at Dean his head threatening to explode and the room spinning around him. The pain which surrounded him was much worse then it usually was as he tried to find the words he needed to answer his brother.
“A demon,” Sam finally managed to groan as he pushed Dean back gently.
“Dude personal space,” he muttered taking a breath for a moment and pulling himself to his feet finally. He hadn’t gotten very far before the sharp pain stabbed into him once more and he stumbled forwards completely thrown off of balance and slammed head first into the dresser blood cascading down his face as his eyes stared blankly up at the ceiling as vision after vision tore through him. All of them following one right after another going to fast to comprehend and bringing shooting pain with it as Sam writhed on the floor his eyes clenched shut as blood began to seep out of the corners of his eyes and his breathing grew frantic as he grabbed desperately at the carpet trying to focus on anything. Through the endless swirl of visions and images of death and pain came the same pare of eyes which had burned into him before. The eyes were the only clear thing through it all an Sam let out a strangled desperate cry before he fell sickeningly still.

Dean glanced back at Sam as he seemed to finally come to and he sagged slightly at the one word Sam managed to mumble out. “Demon? No crap huh....well it would hardly have been out lollipops and candy canes now would it Sammy?” he muttered quietly, his eyes never leaving Sam.
“Well jeez....sorry about that princess....” he muttered, all the more put out by his brothers sudden mood change and he watched him curiously as he staggered back up to his feet “Wouldn't want to invade your personal space any longer would I? Lemme know if you want anything else your majesty....room service, pillows fluffed, bed turned down...bitch....” he added under his breath.
Dean's eyes widened as Sam seemed to once more be thrown into an onslaught of visions and he quickly made his way to where his brother fell just mere seconds after his head had collided with the dresser. “Well this can't be good....” he muttered, turning Sam over and staring down onto him as his clenched eyes began to seep with blood. “Definitely not lollipops and candy canes....” he hissed.
As his brother finally lay still, almost deathly still upon the floor, Dean crouched down beside him and wrenched his arm up and over his shoulders. “Up and at 'em Sammy....” he groaned as he managed to heave his brother up off of the floor and placed him back down on his bed. Dean gave his brother a quick once over before making his way quickly into the washroom of the cheap motel room they found themselves in and drenched a wash cloth in water.
Making his way back to his brothers side, Dean went about wiping the blood from about Sam's face and staring at him with an all too obvious look of worry flashing across his face. Tapping Sam on the cheek and keeping his voice as calm as possible, Dean carried on trying to revive his brother “Come on Sammy, quite fooling around jackass, this sort of crap stopped working on me since you were out of diapers....”
Rubbing his own hand quickly over his mouth, Dean sat back upon the side of the bed and simply stared at his brother “Well this sucks out loud....”

Sam lay completely still upon the bed Dean had placed him on. His eyes flickered under the closed lids as his skin grew paler by the moment. His dark hair soon stood out against his pale skin as he still remained motionless on the bed.
But it was the visions which screamed across his mind even as he seemed to be still physically his mind was running a mile a minute as vision after vision crashed over him and he could hardly form a grasp on any of them. They all brought the same thing though which was a blinding pain worse then he had ever felt before and the same sinsiter voice that he couldn't make out but all the same it struck him right through the core.
He wanted to wake up...it was after all more then time to wake up and get away from all of the visions and the agony and the blood and everything which his mind seemed to be working in over-drive to make him witness. Then suddenly they all stopped just as quickly as they had started and with a large gulp of air which quickly turned into a fit of coughs Sam's eyes snapped opened and he grabbed out for the enartest thing which happened to be Dean. His entire body was shaking and his breathing was erratic the color still drained from his skin as he tried to calm himself down enough to sort through what was happening to him, this was by no means normal.

A blonde woman was currently walking towards the motel. Dark trousers, black top, and a green jacket and high heeled boots, but she was no hooker. Just a demon, a good one though at that. Although the demon part she liked to keep to herself unless the timing called for it, especially dealing with hunters like Sam and Dean, she had to be especially wary around them. But she knew what she was doing. Well at least she thought she did.
A sigh escaped her lips as she entered the building, heading straight for the room she knew the boys were in. Of course she had been keeping tabs on them, she needed to, to make sure they survived. Finding the door, she thought she heard them inside which made sense seeing as she knew they hadn't left the room for a couple of hours. Moving her dagger so it was hidden again, she knocked on the door, not bothering to say anything just yet.

Dean had tried his best to clean up Sam's face as the onslaught of visions continued to wrack its way through his unconscious form and he began to wonder just what the hell had come over him. The phone call from Missouri hadn't helped enlighten him any, but he was at least relieved to know that as soon as Sam was fit they would be welcomed over there to figure this whole mess out.
That was if Sam was fit again...
Dean chastised himself silently for even thinking such things and he could not help but release a sigh of relief as Sam finally seemed to calm down and he was more than taken aback as he suddenly reached up and grabbed out for him.
Hesitating only for mere seconds, Dean took a hold of Sam by the shoulders and allowed him to calm himself down against him. Pulling his arms around his shoulders and staring blankly at the wall behind them, Dean tried to fathom out just what in the hell had just happened and how in the hell to sort it. “Hey...Sammy, come on man....” he breathed quietly, those his eyes still stared at the wall as his own mind whirled a mile a minute.
“Try to calm it Sam...hey man? Yeah....use some of that self help yoga crap you always try to palm off on me....” he added quietly.
Dean's eyes snapped to the doorway as a knock resounded about the room and he quickly lay Sam back down on the bed. “Who in the hell....” he muttered quickly, fishing in the back of his jeans waistband and removing his gun from it. “Give me a moment Sammy....” he added quickly, chancing a look towards his brother as he made his way to the door.
Removing the cartridge and checking the bullets within it, Dean tapped it once against the barrel and quickly slotted it back in. Cocking it quickly and making his way over to the spy hole, Dean glanced through it and allowed his body to sag.
Choosing not to place his gun back where he got it, Dean held it down to his side and opened the door for Ruby. Stepping back into the room and leaving the door open, Dean turned back to Ruby and ensured she knew he was still armed. “To what do we owe this displeasure Ruby?” he asked quickly, his eyes shooting once towards his brother upon the bed before fixing his gaze back on Ruby.

Ruby crossed her arms as she wanted ever so patiently for one of the boys to open the door. She guessed they would be trying to find their guns in case she was actually someone who wanted to kill them, but then why would someone trying to kill them, knock on the door. Although it wouldn't surprise her if one did try that. They do try weird and wonderful things to get to the boys she thought with a smirk.
Ahh it was Dean who came to the door. Typical Dean style though, she thought, always being the protective older brother. She glanced at the gun in Dean's hand and resisted the urge to roll her eyes, instead settled with a slight glare to the Winchester, before turning her attention to Sam lying on the bed.
Pausing she then walked straight into the room as if she owned it, keeping her arms crossed but turned back so she was standing in the middle of the brothers but so she could see them both out the corner of her eyes. "You don't really want to go into what you own me? Do you Dean?" Ruby shoot back, a little jokingly, but with a serious tone, talking about the times she'd saved their butts.
"I have some news that you'd might like to hear." She told them with a smirk. "I've had word that Meg is up to something big, and you need to stop her, before it gets out of control." She said bluntly. She glanced at Dean but then back at Sam who looked in a bit of a state, and like he'd just woken up. "What happened to you?" She asked almost sounding concerned for him, but being slightly impatient and then turning to Dean, "What happened to him?" She asked Dean, uncrossing her arms, keeping them loosley by her side, knowing Dean hopefully wasn't going to shoot her.

Dean smirked back at Ruby as she eyed the gun in his hand and he made a show of placing it back in the waistband of his jeans “You know me Ruby....always prepared...it's the scout in me.” he added with a wide grin.
Eying Ruby with a less than amused stare as she strolled into the room like she was God's gift or something, Dean glanced back at the door and shook his head “I'll go close it then shall I?” he said pointedly “Or are you offering us up for a free for all?!” he added rather bitterly and quickly kicked the door closed.
Dean stared at Ruby suspiciously as she went on to mention Meg and a small satisfied smile crossed his face as she proclaimed she wanted them to be the ones to sort it and he crossed the room to stand dead in front of her “There I was thinking you were the all high and mighty Ruby....you disappoint me...” he added with a small pout “But no worries....we can save your sorry ass and still be home for dinner.” he added with a grin. “Taco Bell tonight....” he winked at Ruby “Wanna join? Or is it too....salty for you?” he said knowingly.
His eyes flicked to Sam as soon as Ruby spoke to him and he stared back at her shocked as she, instead of waiting for Sam to reply himself, shot the same question at him. “Wow...give the guy a chance to answer why don't you?” he said with a small laugh “Ruby...he ate a bad frigging shrimp cocktail....what in the hell does it look like happened? He...” Dean glanced over at Sam and wondered just how much to actually say about his brother “He just isn't....feeling too good...” he muttered quickly.

Sam’s whole body seemed to be in a fit of tremors as he struggled with himself to calm down. He fought to calm his breathing which had become more frantic gasping then actual breathing but after a few moments of as Dean liked to call it his “self help yoga crap” he had managed to at least get his breathing to calm down even if he still seem to be shaking more then he would have liked to be.
His eyes immediately snapped over to the door as a knock sounded through the room. The knock also did a wonderful job of making his head fell even more like it was about to shatter into a million and one pieces. Sam leaned back against the head board of the bed and kept his eyes trained on the door; not that he was under any sort of impression he had enough strength to do much of anything should the need arise but he still wanted to know who was on the other side of it.
Sam’s eyes scrunched in confusion as it was Ruby who had been at the door. He hadn’t thought it would be here in a million years, not that she ever made her visits on a “normal” bases to begin with. Sam had to stop himself from groaning as Ruby and Dean wasted no time laying into each other. Out of all the times for visitors now was not one of the opportune times as the pain in his head was still there if not get worse and he was pretty sure he was going to throw up but he was trying to avoid that at all costs especially now with their extra added company.
Sam’s eyes locked with Ruby’s as she turned her attention towards him. He knew he looked like utter shit he could feel it and he knew it wouldn’t be too hard for her to pick up on that but before he even had the chance to answer her question she had re-aimed it at Dean. As Dean did his best to avoid actually answering her question Sam did his best to sit up straighter in the ebd and not look like death warmed over.
“I’m fine,” Sam finally managed to reply his voice sounding less then convincing but it was the best he could at the moment.
“Nothing new anyways it was just a…vision…I think.”
The truth was he wasn’t entirely sure what it had been but it was close enough to a vision for it to be classified as one for the moment anyways.

Ruby let out a sigh and crossed her arms again, a little agitated at Dean's attitude. She was used to it, but it didn't mean she liked it, although she could give as good as she got. At least when she spoke to Sam he actually spoke to her properly without any stupid comments. "Dean, Dean, Dean, poor Dean, you should really know by now some jobs require more than one person, and especially with Meg on the loose, it really is more than a one person job." She explained almost as if she were repeating it for like the fifth time or something.
She glanced back at Sam when Dean was trying to make up an excuse for why his brother wasn't looking so hot, but so far in her books, he was just failing miserably. "Bad shrimp my ass." She commented perhaps a little to bluntly to Dean. "You know you really should practise up on your excuses, and try and make them sound believable." She told him with a slight raised brow.
She heard Sam's answer and then turned her attention to him, he was definitly better than Dean, although a little worse at hiding if anything was wrong with him. "So if it was a vision what did you see in it?" She asked him. "It must have been one kick-ass vision to make you look like you haven't slept in weeks." She commented, looking at the whole of him, to make sure it wasn't just the visions that had made him a little worse for ware. Although he seemed to be okay, and Dean as the protective brother helped look after him.

Dean stared back at Ruby and could not help but allow a small smirk to cross his lips. “Oh I don't know....your ass doesn't look that much like a bad shrimp more the case of two Pringles hugging...” he grinned, shooting his brother a more than self approving look before removing it quickly and turning away with a slight cough. “Just saying is all....” he mumbled, quickly sitting himself down upon his own bed.
Staring at Ruby as she went over to Sam, Dean allowed his protective side to emerge once more and he quickly removed his gun from the back of his waistband and placed it upon the bed beside him. His eyes flicked between Sam and Ruby as firstly his brother began to explain the truth of what happened to him, followed immediately by a barrage from Ruby. “Sweetheart...not to sound rude or what not....not that I give a flying rats ass if I do....” he muttered quickly “But Sammy here is kind of not in the right state for twenty frigging questions, so why don't you sit your ass down....forget about being Mommy for just one second and tell us exactly what you have heard on Meg....”
Dean stood up from his bed and, after retrieving his gun and making his way over to Sam, lifted his brothers chin and stared down into his eyes “Well least you look a little more awake now....” he mumbled “Do you want anything? Need anything?” he added quickly, not yet bothering to place his gun back away.

Sam stared at Dean in only half disbelief as some how Dean had decided that now was the proper time to bring up Ruby’s ass of all things. He looked from Ruby to Dean as she asked him what he had seen in the vision. That was the problem of course as he had no idea what it was he had seen. There had been too many and it had been too quick and too chaotic to be able to focus on any one thing.
“I don’t know,” Sam replied with a light shake of his head which he all but immediately regretted as it caused the room to tilt sideways and caused the urge to throw up all of his internal organs that much stronger.
“They were all too fast ad there were too many…one right after the other...but there were voices over it all but it wasn’t Latin or anything else we know…it was different,” Sam tried to explain his eyes looking past Ruby and staring at Dean for a moment before they shifted down to the hideous floral bed spread he was laying on top of.
“I’m fine,” Sam whispered again trying to swallow down the urge to heave as Dean asked him if he was ok. None of this was making a bit of sense; the visions, the sudden appearance of Ruby, and this tie to Meg it all just seemed tossed together.
*****
“Let us in Samuel,” Meg whispered her voice not even sounding like it belonged to her any longer as she grasped the dagger and sliced her arms clear up to her elbows her blood spilling into the goblet in droves as the incantation grew stronger and the wind tore through the graveyard as distant thunder claps grew louder and stronger. As the blood covered the fabric and picture of Sam Winchester it became engulfed in a blue flame as the incantation froze on Meg’s lips and the world went silent around her, the blacks of her eyes gleaming in the night.
“The games startin boys,” Meg whispered with a smile as she tipped the goblet into the ground in front of the Devil’s Gate where it sucked into the ground with a screech. Meg had just performed a binding curse with Sam Winchester leaving his mind open to be attacked by demons and his body to be attacked by her at any given time. She smiled down at the gashes which tore through the flesh on her arms as she licked the blood from the dagger.
“See you soon Sammy,” she whispered taking the remaining blood mixture and swallowing it with a smile knowing the agony Sam Winchester was about to endure.
*****
He didn’t have much time to think about it as a thick copper taste filled the back of his throat and he felt and agonizing pain shot through his abdomen as he lurched forward and away from Dean’s touch as he stumbled into the bathroom slamming the door closed behind him not really a fan of hurling his guts out in front of Ruby or his brother. With the door shut he proceeded to heave up what he was all but certain was nothing but pure blood.
His entire body was shaking like a leaf as sweat soaked through his shirt and his body was wracked with dry heaves once there was nothing else to actually throw up. The pain tearing through his abdomen was nothing compared to the sudden pain which tore through his head. His arms gripped around his abdomen as his eyes slammed shut his entire body shaking in agony. The agony which tore through his head and mind though was interrupted by the agony which ripped through his arms. His eyes widened in shock and horror as he stared down at his arms two large and deep gashes had ripped through his arms blood soaking through his shirt and jeans as she stared down at the wounds what little color he had left in him draining completely.
“Dean!” he yelled his voice laced with panic and pain as the blood began to cover the floor around him and he could feel himself growing hazy by the moment.

Ruby purposefully ignored Dean's quip about her ass and just gave him a glare instead before turning her attention back to Sam. "Well for one thing, she's ammasing a demon army behind, all for the pleasure of killing you both." Ruby stated moving and leaning against the small dresser in the room, opposite to the beds, looking between the two brothers.
She moved back in shock as suddenly Sam leapt off his bed and into the bathroom next to her, slamming the door. She glanced at Dean and saw his face when Sam went into the bathroom, but then she looked back to the closed door when she heard Sam call out for his brother. But with a frown and a sudden move she got to the door before Dean and opened it to see Sam on the floor and a pool of blood forming. "That bitch." She exclaimed, stepping round Sam to the other side so Dean could get in and help his brother. "She's started earlier than expected." She muttered to herself.
She pulled a small knife out of her boot. Not the demon killing knife, just a normal one that couldn't kill her. She ran the blade across her hand seeing her blood spill from the cut, and glancing at both Dean and Sam, "Trust me." She said quickly, pressing her hand to one of Sam's cuts on his arm. Ruby then muttered the incantation, repeating it a couple of times whilst watching Sam and Dean, and trying to counteract whatever Meg had tried on Sam.
She could sense all the evil energy surrounding Sam for a moment, and her eyes narrowed before starting to chant something.
"Ergo, draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica, adjuramus te per Deum, qui sic dilexit mundum, ut Filium suum unigenitum daret, ut omnes qui credit in eum non pereat, sed habeat vitam æternam: cessa decipere humanas creaturas!"
She felt as though she had pushed something out, and away from the Winchester, though didn't know what it was.
"Whatever's happening to him I've managed to stop it for now." She explained to Dean, "Meg tried some demon crap on him. I've stopped it, but not for long. You have to find her and stop her, before she can reak anymore havoc on the both of you." She took a deep breath, taking a moment to collect herself from trying to counteract at least for a short Meg's spell.

Dean stumbled back in shock as Sam lurched forwards in the bed and he had no choice but to stand back as his younger brother rushed past him and into the bathroom. His eyes shot to Ruby with nothing but confusion racing through them as Sam slammed the door closed behind him and Dean could do nothing but stare at it briefly.
His attention was snatched back to the here and now as Sam's panic stricken voice resounded from the bathroom and Dean rushed forwards to make his way towards the bathroom. A low, almost animalistic growl fell from him as Ruby saw fit to push past him and his mouth curled into a snarl as she entered the bathroom.
Entering the bathroom at lightning speed and feeling his eyes widen at the sight that lay before him, Dean could only watch aghast as Ruby firstly slit open her own palm and then proceed to rub her blood into the wounds on Sam's arms. Feeling his whole body shake and unable to control his own breathing patterns, Dean's eyes momentarily found Sam's and the fear and pain that lay behind them all but taunted him.
“Screw this....” he growled bitterly, Ruby's incantation resounding about the small room they all found themselves in and Dean rushed his way back into the motel room. Rifling through his bag, nothing but hatred and determination in his eyes, Dean finally found what he was looking for and wasted no time in making his way back to the pair.
Wrenching his hand through the collar of Ruby's jacket and dragging her away from Sam, Dean shoved her forcefully up against the wall and held the barrel of the colt to the middle of her forehead. “This bullet.....” he spat, his voice shaking and his eyes drilling into hers “Is not meant for you.....but believe me....I will not hesitate to drive it through your skull if you so much as touch my brother again....”
Dean's whole body shook with anger and, as he kept the gun firmly aimed into Ruby's forehead he allowed his eyes to find Sam “Sam....Sammy....” he whispered hoarsely, the blood that fell from his brother shone upon the stark white floor “You ok Sammy....” he whispered, the anger in his voice slowly being replaced by fear.
Staring back at Ruby and shaking his head frantically, Dean slammed his hand clean into her shoulder and pinned her to the wall “What the hell did you do to him?!” he cried out “What did you do?!” the worry and fear for his brother forced his words out strained and he struggled to hold the last piece of composure that his body held within him.
