The economy was shit for humans and supernatural beings alike...the only difference was the actual meaning of economy of course. People were more apt to sell their soul for billions which was good news if you were a crossroad demon but if you wanted a bit of small term gratification business seemed to be jumping far less. So by some small pain in the ass version of a wrong turn Gavner had found himself in Arkansas...there was shit to do there but that is where he had ended up.
He had managed to convince a few truckers to give up their mothers in exchange for a new Harley, a pretty hooker and a steak and after the mothers had been collected and packaged accordingly he had set off again to figure out what else he could collect while he was in town.
Gavner had picked up the waves of the hunter long before he had actually layed eyes on her handy work but she didn't prove too hard to find...especially since he wasn't a demon.
It took Gavner no time at all before he was rather comfortably situated in the passenger seat of Bianca Pagliaro's car which was for the moment parked outside of the Museum of Anthropology...even though it was far past midnight...hunters were a strange breed of animal. But they were also the most amusing to make a bargain with and as Gavner sat in teh car he learned more and more about the woman until he had learned just about enough to make a deal...one he was rather sure he could keep...he hated his job so a slip up here and there wasn't entirely bad...for him at least....what were they going to do after all...fire him?
He wouldn't be so lucky.

Bianca was momentarily fascinated with the museum. She hadn't been much into anthro since high school, but looking for an artifact in a museum could peak someone's interest.
Bianca saw absolutely no signs of the cursed Native American amulet she needed. She knew that the curse was causing the rash of untimely deaths in town. The way to cure the problem was simple-find the amulet, destroy it, death stopped. Quick, short, sweet and to the point. That was, of course, if one could find the amulet. Which at this stage of the game, Bianca was failing miserably at.
Sighing, she decided to give up on the museum for the evening. Heading towards the back door, she eased it open and stepped into the parking lot. That's when she noticed something was wrong. There was a figure seated in the passenger seat of the car.
"What the-." Bianca growled, reaching into her back pocket and withdrawing a gun.
"Ok, dude," she called walking over to the passenger door and keeping the gun trained on the figure. "I'm thinking you should get out of my car."

Gavner had spent the better part of an hour atring up at the ceiling of the car and letting over all boredome take over since there wasn;t much else to do...or well not much that would go un-notice so it was sit silently in the car and wait...oh joy oh rapture. He felt her coming from the building before she ever made her way out of the front door and sure enough in a few moments the hunter had slipped out of the building and was making her way towards the car.
Gavner kept his head tilted back and his eyes closed casusally as he heard her withdraw her gun.
"Ok, dude. I'm thinking you should get out of my car."
"Names Gavner...nice to meet you Bianca...and just for the record you may want to put the gun away and get on the road sicne you have about 4...make that 3 minutes till the cops show up...just saying that the night may be spent in better company then in lock up...but that's up to you," Gavner stated as he peered at Bianca through half opened yeyes his head still resting against the seat.

Bianca kept both eyes and gun trained on the man as he started to speak. Upon the realization that he knew her name, she immediately became suspicious. There were two possible options for this: one, he had been rummaging in the car and found her ID-or two, he was not human. In her line of work, she'd come to notice the second one most often.
His statement about the police cemented that option. Not many humans knew that-unless they were the ones who had called the cops-but she figured she'd sort that out on the road.
Keeping the gun in one hand, Bianca got into the Mustang's driver seat and started the engine. She put the car in drive, but in rear wheel drive it was sometimes difficult the peel away. The gravel under the back tires flew and the Mustang's traction light flicked on as the car pulled away from the museum.
"So what are you, Gavner?" She asked, keeping the gun in her right hand and maneuvering the car onto the local roadway with her left. "And note I said "what", not "who"."

Gavner smirked as he watched Bianca make her way around and into the car. Hunters didn't much care for the likes of the police especially considering that their arrival usually ended up with the hunter getting hauled off to jail and as amsuing as that was for other parties the hunter tended not to be a fan of the practice.
Gavner shuffeled slightly in the passenger seat making himself comfortable as Bianca got into the driver's seat and the car peeled out from in front of the museum. Now they were getting there...physically and figuritevly.
"So what are you, Gavner? And note I said "what", not "who"."
Gavner smirked his eyes still closed. He knew that Bianca still had the gun trained on him but he really wasn't too worried about that especially since it would take a lot more then a bullet to kill him...a lot more.
"Me?...I'm Gavner...didn;t we go over this?...Could have sworn we did...oh wait...you mean my purpose?...Well you see Binks...I'm the guy who can get you...the guy who took your eyes...not that your new pare aren't charming but I am correct in stating that they aren't...your original pare?" Gavne stated with a smile as he opened his eyes and glanced across the car at Bianca.

Bianca immediately disliked the fact that Mr. Gavner seemed to be making himself quite at home in the car. He still hadn't bothered to answer her question as to what type of being he was-and she thought she might dislike that even more.
I'm the guy who can get you...the guy who took your eyes...not that your new pare aren't charming but I am correct in stating that they aren't...your original pare?"
Bianca shot the man a harsh look. Now there was no way a human could know that-unless of course Paolo had sent him...or he was an escaped victim as well. However, she had no intention of tossing out info that easily.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She told him, her eyes focused on the road in front of her.
Bianca noticed a wooden sign indicating they were driving into some sort of park. Up ahead, she noticed a boarded up building with a faded picture of an ice cream cone on its side. Pulling into the parking lot before it, she put the car into park and turned to face Gavner.
"Out." She told him, motioning to the passenger door with the gun.

"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Lies," Gavner replied with a shadow of a smile as he stared ahead at teh road in front of him. Bianca was going to be a fun one; he could feel it and though Gavner hated his job the fun ones always made the days go by faster.
"Out."
Gavner rolled his eyes as he shifted his sight back on to Bianca.
"Really? Are we really going to go through all of this?"
Shaking his head Gavner pulled himself from the car and slammed the door loudly behind him. He took several steps to the back of the car before hopping up on teh trunk and making himself rather comfortable as he stared about the park around them. Hunters sometimes picked the oddest locations to conduct business. Whisteling ever so softly Gavner kicked his feet forward and back as he waited for Bianca to make her way over.

"Lies,"
Bianca's head jerked instinctively towards Gavner. She did not like that he thought he knew something. But the worse thought that clung to the back of her mind was that he did know something. What if-.....
Paolo videotaped his actions. It was entirely possible that-.
Bianca didn't think Paolo was in the habit of showing his films. But-.
A sick feeling was twisting her stomach into knots. She wanted rid of this guy-immediately.
"Really? Are we really going to go through all of this?"
"Yeah, well, thanks for dropping by. Great seeing you-whoever you are." She was pleased he'd actually gotten out of the car. Maybe now she could get on her way.
But no such luck. He'd just seated himself on the trunk of her car, she could see him. And if she pulled away-.
Paolo had never struck her as the type of guy who worked with partners. But if this guy-Gavner-was one of his, well, she could be in big trouble if anything happened to him. And if Paolo had his guys following her, she was already in trouble.
"Fck my life." She grumbled, cutting the motor and getting out of the driver's seat. Storming around to the back of the car, she stood face to face with Gavner.
"All right, what does he want and why did he send you?" She knew there would be a day when she'd run into Paolo again-but she'd always hoped it would be in a courtroom with a judge and jury.

A wide grin crossed Gavner's face as he felt the car grow silent beneath him. It really did make things much easier when everyone just went along with the game. After all if his family line had gone along with things way back in the day he wouldn't currently be seated on the back of a demon hunter's truck.
Gavner's smile held as Bianca stood eye to eye with him. Out of kindness he stopped his kicking since he figured kicking the girl was no real way to get what he wanted in the long run.
"All right, what does he want and why did he send you?"
Confusion quickly flashed trhough Gavner's eyes at the hunters chocie of words. Who the hell was "he" and why would Gavner be working for him? Of course Gavner did work for soembody but there was no way this hunter; this girl knew anything about the inner workings of his job. So it was relatively safe to say he had not a clue as to what she was talking about...but that didn't mean he couldn't get it to work in his favor.
Bend time and illusions were his thing...fortune telling not so much...but with a certain bit of hocus pocus you could get a lot fo things accomplished.
"Oh well now there are lots of things he wants," Gavner mused as he tapped hsi fingers along the trunk to a beat which was only in his head.
"Lots and lots of things...where would you like to start?"

Bianca for a moment was distracted as it occured to her that this random guy was sitting on her car-the only thing she really, truly possessed on this planet.
"Dude, get off of my car. Just....just cut me that one thing, ok?" Her tone of voice was turning pathetic. She immediately corrected herself, folded her arms over her chest, and glared at him.
"Oh well now there are lots of things he wants,"
Great. Well, that was just great. And the problem with that was that while Paolo was completely FUBAR, he was intelligent. Bianca couldn't deny that. And that was the thing that scared her. Ezra was the dumb one-which was why he was dead. Paolo had gotten away with dozens-maybe hundreds-of murders. And Bianca was the only one who walked away.
"I don't owe him anything." She glared at Gavner. "Let's just clarify that I didn't make that deal. The deal he had was with Ezra and that's not my problem."
Bianca hated both of these men more than she could say. But for some reason, she had a sick awe of Paolo. She was just amazed that anyone could be that messed up yet that....she wasn't sure what the word was, the only one that would come to mind was creative-and that just freaked her out.
"Lots and lots of things...where would you like to start?"
"Whatever will get him out of my like." Bianca informed him. "Just tell me the main thing he wants so I can say no."

"I don't owe him anything. Let's just clarify that I didn't make that deal. The deal he had was with Ezra and that's not my problem."
Gavner listened to her words carefully so that he could piece together the information he needed so that in the end it could all come together in a nice rather useful package; for himself anyways. These deals rarely...ok well they never worked out in the favor of the deal maker. Gavner knew that fact alone should bother him considering what it had doen to his family and what it would continue to do over time but considering what he was he had little room for sympathy.
"Whatever will get him out of my like. Just tell me the main thing he wants so I can say no."
"Oh come now; no need to be so closed off," Gavner explained jumping down from the trunk of the car and drapping his arm around the hunter's shoulder.
"Deals are a good thing...they can help everyone out in the long run. Why don't we just chat...leave all that Ezra business behind us yeah? Leave "him" alone for the moment?" Gavner asked looking at Bianca.
"Why don't we chat about what it is you want...what it is you want most in the world and then we can go from there?" Gavner asked with a sly smile.
Nobody would ever be able to tell him he didn't put the needs of women before his own. Besides it was always best to know exactly what the other wanted to ensure that the deal was rich enough that they thought they were getting out on top.

Bianca stared at Gavner for a long moment, waiting to see if he'd actually reveal his reasons for his arrival. In truth, it was killing her not to know what Paolo wanted-and how he'd found her.
For a moment, she relished in the fact that this guy was off of her car, and then he was touching her and that sent her nearly into orbit.
"Hands off, dude." She informed him, ducking from his grasp. "Your boss put his hands on me enough to last a lifetime. I don't need you getting in on the act."
"Deals are a good thing...they can help everyone out in the long run. Why don't we just chat...leave all that Ezra business behind us yeah? Leave "him" alone for the moment?"
"Dude, his deal got me into this mess. If Ezra had let Paolo kill me, we wouldn't be having this problem and my life wouldn't be the f-ed up mess it is right now."
Personally, she kind of wished Paolo had just come after her himself. If he'd sent this guy to kill her, she determined she'd rather be killed by the man himself as opposed to his flunkie.
"Why don't we chat about what it is you want...what it is you want most in the world and then we can go from there?"
"What I want?" Bianca looked at Gavner as though he'd just lapsed off into German. "Why in the hell do you care what I want? Why the hell does Paolo care at this stage of the game? He didn't care when he was creating his latest "masterpiece". But what, now he sent you to work out the sick remenants of Ezra's deal in order for him not to kill me?"
She spun away from Gavner for a moment and kicked the Mustang's tire. Not a flinch. She knew these were a good investment.
"All I want," Bianca sighed, looking up at Gavner, "is to be left alone. I want to stop feeling like a freak from his physical scars, I want to be able to sleep through the night, I just want a normal life. So you can go back and tell him that-and that whatever twisted murder he wants my help in-I'm not interested."

"Hands off, dude."
Gavner smirked slightly as Bianca ducked out of his grasp; apprently he wasn't her type.
"What I want? Why in the hell do you care what I want? Why the hell does Paolo care at this stage of the game? He didn't care when he was creating his latest "masterpiece". But what, now he sent you to work out the sick remenants of Ezra's deal in order for him not to kill me?"
Gavner wasn't somebody who was taken by surprise easily but he would have to give it to the hunter she had more then completely taken him off guard by her sudden outburst. He had of course felt the shifts in the air about her but he hadn't thought she would snap so easily. Gavner made a mental note to look into this Paolo guy and what it was he did exactly.
"I make my own deals..." Gavner began to explain when Bianca began speaking again.
"All I want, is to be left alone. I want to stop feeling like a freak from his physical scars, I want to be able to sleep through the night, I just want a normal life. So you can go back and tell him that-and that whatever twisted murder he wants my help in-I'm not interested."
Gavner stood in silence as he allowed her want to hang in the air around them. She had told him exactly what it was he needed to know. She had shared with him what it was she wanted most in the world and it wasn't anyone dead or riches beyond reason...it was rather simple really. Or well with the help of a bit of magic it would be.
"And what Ms. Pagliaro would you do to get what it is you want in life?" Gavner asked crossing his arms over his chest a rather satisfied smile crossing his face.

Bianca waited as patiently as she could for what Gavner's response would be. She knew that as soon as he told Paolo what her reaction had been, he'd be more than entertained that he'd managed to mess up her life so badly. In truth, she probably would have done better to keep it under wraps because what better way to piss someone off than to indicate that they had no impact on your life?
"And what Ms. Pagliaro would you do to get what it is you want in life?"
She started at him for a long moment. Something about that question seemed a little...well....odd. She couldn't get that, no matter what happened. There was no bringing back what she'd lost, so how exactly did this random guy think he could get her anything?
"I can say that I'll do whatever, but it won't make any difference."
What would she do to get over this? Bianca actually considered the question for a long time. She didn't know why. There was no point in answering.
"I won't kill anyone." She muttered, glancing over at Gavner. "Whatever else Paolo wants, fine. But I'm not killing anyone. I'll do anything except that, if he just leaves me alone."

"I can say that I'll do whatever, but it won't make any difference."
Gavner's smile widened considerably in response to Bianca's answer. This was going to be an astounding deal. Gavner paced ever so slightly allowing the thoughts to fester in teh young hunter's mind. He hated what it was he was and what he did but he was at peace with the fact that he did what he needed to do in order to stay alive.
He was very much at peace with that.
"I won't kill anyone. Whatever else Paolo wants, fine. But I'm not killing anyone. I'll do anything except that, if he just leaves me alone."
And there was that name again. WHatever it was this man was capable was soemthing powerful; something that Gavner would need to get his hands on in time. But for the moment he would provide him with what he needed in order to seal the deal with the hunter.
"You're wrong you know Bianca," Gavner whispered as he jumped back up on the trunk of the hunter's car.
"It will make all the difference in the world Bianca...what would you give up in order to be who you were before your bit of...cinematic adventure...what would you trade Binks?"
In truth Gavner was extremley interested to know what it was the woman would be able to part with. She wouldn't kill anyone which was fine by Gavner since bodies tended to stink and it was the living who were useful to a goblin; not the dead.
