Killian stared at the closed door once Alyssa and Gardener had stepped out into the night and he could feel his heart slamming against his chest as if it would be more content exploding from his chest cavity. He wasn't sure if he was waiting for them to come back and kill him or what exactly he had expected to happen next. No more then a handful of seconds had passed from when the door closed to when Killian darted across the room and quickly threw the lock into place and turned and bolted up the stairs.
"Lex!" Killian called as he clamored up the stairs 2 at a time.
"ALEXIS!.....Le..." Killian's words froze on his lips as his eyes fell upon teh still form of Ryden on the ground who was very much either dead or unconcious and then a gasp fell from his lips as he took in the sight of Alexis laying ont eh ground drenched in blood.
"Jesus..." Killian whispered as he scrambeled past Ryden and quickly fell to Alexis' side.
"Alexis..." Killian whispered not wanting to startle her as he turned her around gently to face him. He immediately saw where the blood was coming from; a gash in her abdomen. He was pretty sure it wouldn't kill her but the burnt smell of flesh couldn't have been a good sign either.
A part of Killian wanted to go back downstairs and find Gardener and put one of those siver bullets clean threw his head and maybe on splatter Alyysa with his brain matter if he was feeling kind....but the more rational part of him told him it was a bad idea...for now at least.
Pulling his jacket off Killian balled it up and pressed it against the wound in Alexis' stomach.
"No idea how to treat a vampire by the way..." Killian whispered as he applied pressure to the wound like he had learned to do in the army several lifetimes ago.

Alexis had absolutely no idea how long it had been since Gardener had left. She was somewhere in a haze between consciousness and the blissful peace of fainting. She wanted Ryden to wake up, and Killian to come upstairs, and the bleeding to stop, and the burning to stop, and-.
"Alexis..."
Her eyes batted weakly open at the sound of Killian's voice. She found herself looking up into the boy's face. She groaned slightly as pain and blood seemed to resurface when Killian turned her to face him.
"That's a good start." Alexis winced as Killian touched his jacket to the wound on her abdomen. Truthfully, it had been a very long time since she'd had an injury this bad. Between blood loss and silver, it was taking a lot to remember how to treat it.
"Gotta stop the bleeding....then close it or bandage it. And I need-." She stopped talking. It was easier than going on for one instance, and two, she wasn't sure Killian needed to hear right now that blood would make her feel better.

Killian found the groan which fell from Alexis terrefying and relaxing just the same. The dead didn't groan...well unless they were zombies and then there was a different problem all together. Killian kept his grip strong as he pressed down upon the wound but the jacket was soaked through with blood in no time.
"Gotta stop the bleeding....then close it or bandage it. And I need-."
So tending to a vampire was a lot like tending to a person. He could do this....he hadn't done it in over 50 years but he could still do it.
Tossing the blood soaked jacket intot he corner Killian scrambeled to his feet and into the bathroom stepping over Ryden again....he really hoped he wasn't dead otherwise he would feel bad about that later. Killian came back his hands filled with towels Alexis would no doubt prefer not to be stained with blood and the nearest thing he could find to a sewing needle and thread and some bandages.
This was going to be a bitch.
Killian stared down at Alexis for a moment before dumping the items on the floor and pressing a fresh towel on the bleeding wound.
"Ryden's not dead right?"
Killian grimaced slightly as he got a clear view of the wound this was no doubt going to hurt more then it already did.
"If I hurt you I'm sorry it;s been about 50 years since I tried this," Killian muttered as he didn't waste any time in stiching the wound and keeping it as clean as possible. Killian was rather certain he would have chewed through his bottom lip had he not managed to finally stitch the wound. He wasn't stupid though he knew Alexis would need blood; he had seen enough vampire movies to know that would be needed.
"...If I let you bite me do you think you could not kill me?" Killian asked glancing down at his wrist. He knew Lex drank animal blood but there was no doubt that human blood would be better in this case.

Killian's pressure on the wound was killing her. Granted, she was probably making it a lot worse with how tense she was. As Killian removed his jacket, Alexis took the opportunity to see just how drenched the fabric was. Great, this was a wonderful time.
"Ryden's not dead right?"
"He was dead....before." She winced again as Killian applied further pressure. This hurt like hell. She knew full well he was helping, but it was one of those moments where she wished he would let her lay there and hope for the best.
"Mm." She cringed, pulling one arm up and over her eyes. The wound had already hurt, but this was making it far worse. Every second Killian's movements seemed to make the situation worse. She was proud of herself for keeping calm and not tearing Killian's hand off of her.
"...If I let you bite me do you think you could not kill me?"
Alexis lowered her arm, realizing that Killian was done with his task. She did not like the idea of drinking human blood one bit. It had taken a lot to ween herself off of it, and this just seemed like an all around bad situation. But she knew she needed blood. And human blood was a good choice-probably the best unfortunately.
"Yeah, but-. No." Alexis turned her head away, covering her face with her arm again. "Get....get a rat. Or.....something. No human blood. No."

"Yeah, but-. No. Get....get a rat. Or.....something. No human blood. No."
Killian could understand what Alexis was trying to do; she was trying to do the noble thing, the right thing, the proper thing...the stupid thing.
If it was one thing Killian knew plenty about it was about makign teh choice to do the stupid thing for the wrong reasons. He had lived more hten half of his lvies doing the right and/or stupid thing. The truth of the matter was though that Alexis needed blood to get better and she needed blood to get better in a hurry and in case Gardener and Co. decided to come back for seconds Killian preffered Alexis more along the lines of the land of the living...or well as living as a vampire could get.
"Lex we both know a rat right about now will be like sucking on a mint...it isn't going to do a damn thing..." Killian was pretty sure this was one of those "dumb ass" moments on his part but it would be fine as long as Alexis didn't kill him.
"Gardener left me here untouched and you enarly dead to prove that you weren;t strong enough not to kill me...he wants you to have no control...he wants to be the only one who can start and stop...I didn't think you would let him get away with that," Killian muttered with a slight shrug.
He knew it was playing dirty but he could play this game damn near perfectly.
Taking the medical scissors he had used to cut the thread Killian racked it up in the inner side of his arm bringing lood blossoming to the surface.
"...Just don't kill me," Killian warned again as he held out his bleeding arm to Alexis.

"Lex we both know a rat right about now will be like sucking on a mint...it isn't going to do a damn thing..."
He was right. In order to get herself back to health on an animal, she'd need a bear or a wolf or something along those lines. Or a human. A human would do nicely.
Alexis closed her eyes. She did not want Gardener to be the one in control of them, and she did not want to drink human blood. But obviously, fighting back against Gardener had to be the priority. And if Gardener came back soon, Killian could easily be screwed.
She turned her head as the scent of blood filled her nostrils. She opened her eyes to see Killian's arm now bleeding. Slowly, her hand extended and brought the skin to her mouth.
As she started to drink, Alexis realized that she had literally forgotten how good human blood tasted. It wasn't something she was overly keen on remembering. But the blood from an arm cut was flowing much slower than one which had penetrated a major artery, so it took much more work on her part. And that made it far easier not to kill the boy.
Alexis felt a sudden sleepiness set over her. It was a clear indication that her body was beginning to function on a slightly normal level-and that she'd had enough. While all vampire instincts screamed for her to keep going, Alexis pushed Killian's arm away from her lips.
"Thanks." She murmured, carefully curling herself onto one side so as not to reopen the gash on her stomach while tucking an arm under her head.
"Wake me....10 minutes....if....not....awake." Alexis let her eyes fall shut as she drifted into a sound sleep.

Killian cringed slightly as Alexis set her lips against his skin and slowly began sucking the blood from his arm. She was weak from her own blood lose and he could feel that she didn;t have her strength. Setting his teeth adn attempting to not flinch as the blood was pulled from his vein which brought a sort of burning tension of pain with it...but it had been his own idea and a good one...so far...unless he ended up dead.
Killian could feel the room growing foggy around him and he started to think that this would be a good time for Alexis to stop when she pushed his arm away.
"Thanks."
"Don't mention it...Thanks fo rnot killing me," Killian replied with a small smile as he pulled a piece of gauze wrap off the floor and wrapped it around his arm to stem off the blood flow.
"Wake me....10 minutes....if....not....awake."
Killian wasn't enitrely certain if it was smart for her to be sleeping but he figured she knew more about what was ok for a vampire and what wasn't so he didn't protest...out loud.
He made his way over to where Ryden and turned him over trying to fgure out what in the hell was wrong with him; but he quickly came up empty handed. After a brief moment of panic followed by a brief moment of feeling like a dumb ass Killian realized checking for a pulse was...pointless. Especially since as Alexis pointed out he hadn't had one before.
Sighing Killian glanced around the room the silence of it all bugging him...what in the hell were they supposed to do now. Leaning against the wall and trying to gather his own strength back from the blood loss Killian attempted and failed to think of what sort of plain they could muster up next.

Alexis's eyes flickered open. They immediately fell on the blood soaked floor beside her. Glancing downwards, she took in the blood now tacky and drying on her chest and stomach before they reached the now sewn closed wound.
"Mm." Alexis pushed herself up weakly on one arm and looked around the room. Her stomach felt like someone had cut it open and filled it with broken glass. But some-not all-but some of her strength was back.
Continuing to look around the room, her eyes landed on Killian who was leaning against a nearby wall. She couldn't exactly say he'd saved her life-but for the most part he had. Blood loss would have left her too weak to feed and she would have starved in the end.
"Where'd you learn all that?" She asked, gingerly leaning back against the coffee table. "It was very impressive."
Rubbing her eyes, Alexis shot a quick glance down the hallway towards her bedroom. She wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed and sleep this injury off. But that was impossible with the potential threat of Gardener out and about.
"We have two choices," she sighed, looking up at Killian, "one, we can try to get some sleep and hope Gardener doesn't come back and make another try to get out of here in the morning. Or two, we can try and get the hell out of here now. I think-think-I can carry Ryden, but you're going to have to drive the first part if you want to risk it."

Killian had taken up staring at the ceiling again...seemed to be the pass time of choice for the evening when Alexi started to wake-up.
"Mm."
Speech was speech he supposed; he was just glad that she had woken up since he wasn't entirely sure how comas and vampires worked together.
"Welcome back to the land of the living...or well the land of the undead living in the land of the living," Killian stated with a slight smile as Alexis pushed herself up.
"Where'd you learn all that? It was very impressive."
"I was bored a few lives back so I decided joining the army would be a good thing to do...sort of landed myself in the middle of a tiny war called World War II...you learn all sorts of thing in a war but I mainly stuck to being a medic and that went well and good until I got shot...then it was the rewind game all over again," Killian explained with a shrug.
Killian listened to their options all of which sucked and decided they mine as well stay put and agther themselves before going anywhere.
"We can;t show up in Salem with Ruden half dead...that will piss Mary off...I vote for staying here until he isn;t so dead and you aren't so bleeding to death."

Alexis listened to Killian's story of how he'd ended up in World War 2. She had to search back through her memory to determine where she'd been at this point in the world's history.
"I was in New York then. I missed out on Europe and all that fun. Didn't head back that way until the 50s. But you picked up some useful skills."
Her fingers gingerly skirted over the gash in her stomach. She flinched as the skin was way too sore for picking at it.
"True." She hadn't thought about how Ryden's current condition might anger Marisolla further. Moving weakly to her knees, she crawled over to where the other vampire's body lay. "He'll be fine-in a few hours, or days, at least. It's Dead Man's Blood. Same stuff his ex wife used on me our first go round."
Alexis tried to sit up straight and take the pressure off of her wound, but even vampires used too many muscles in their abdomen to make it gentler.
"I wish I could take Vicodine. Or Morphine. Or Opium. Do they even sell Opium anymore?" She ran her hands through her hair and sighed. She was going to rip Gardener's head off if she saw him again.
"And for the record: we're both dead no matter what. And I'm not bleeding to death. I'm just bleeding into extreme weakness."

"Yeah you didn't miss much by not being there," Killian answered with a small shrug. In truth he had quickly figured out that war was not his cup of tea. That had actually been the last time he had died before the car took him out which landed him in the cemetery with Alexis that night.
Killian watched as Alexis looked over Ryden; it was good that he wasn't dead or well deader since the guy seemed to be like a really good card to have on their side especially considering they had very few things on their side these days.
"And for the record: we're both dead no matter what. And I'm not bleeding to death. I'm just bleeding into extreme weakness."
"Small print...any how there is only one of us in this room that can managed not to stay dead," Killian explained with a light smirk.
"Are you gonna be ok?" Killian asked his face growing serious as he watched Alexis. He didn't aprticulary want to admitt it but she was the first person he had let into his life for nearly 300 years that he actually gave a damn about and he was not to keen on losing that yet again.
"I can drag him into my room and let him work out the posion if you want to rest some mroe and then we can pick up our crappy plan in the morning?...I can keep watch downstairs incase Gardener comes back?"

"You're not the war type." Alexis told Killian as he stated she hadn't missed much by avoiding World War 2 Europe. "I've known enough vampires who died in wars and you just don't strike me as being on the same level as them."
Alexis turned her gaze back down to Ryden. He was going to feel pretty out of it for awhile most likely. If they could get him awake, that would be a start in the right direction. But he would probably need as much rest as she would for the next day or so.
"Are you gonna be ok?"
Alexis looked back up at Killian and gave him a small smile.
"Why? Are you worried about me?" She teased him lightly. It was only half teasing really. She hadn't had anyone worry about her in....well.... She couldn't really remember, except if you counted Jon which she had all but stopped doing now.
"I can drag him into my room and let him work out the posion if you want to rest some mroe and then we can pick up our crappy plan in the morning?...I can keep watch downstairs incase Gardener comes back?"
Alexis shook her head slightly. Killian was human and humans needed sleep just as badly as vampires did.
"You need to rest too. You're human, humans need sleep." She searched her brain, trying to come up with a way they could all rest.
"I think there were still bullets in the gun we had, you take it and lock yourself in your room. Drag Ryden into mine, I can defend us both to an extent if the need arises. And-."
Alexis thought for another moment, when realization clicked.
"There's garlic powder in the kitchen. If we cover everything with that, Gardener won't be able to stand it. Neither will I for that matter, but I've got other issues to focus on."

"You're not the war type. I've known enough vampires who died in wars and you just don't strike me as being on the same level as them."
"Yeah I wasn't very good at it....hence the whole me dying bit," Killian explained with a faint smirk.
"Why? Are you worried about me?"
"Me?...No of course not," Killian repleid using a bit of mock concern.
"It's just digging graves is a bitch..." he tacked on with a smart ass grin.
The smile faded though as he listened to Alexis' plan in regards to rest and recovery...it sounded like a friggin war...well it was clsoe enough but honestly she wasn;t going to get better if they drenched the place in garlic powder and she couldn't rest and he had had about enough of being locked in teh bedroom for 1 lifetime.
"Why don't you both just stay in here locked up and I'll take the gun and...hang-out until I fall asleep? You won't be able to rest with garlic everywhere and I am pretty sure Gardener won't kill me...for the moment and then tomorrow we can check out what is what and figure out when we are heading down to hell...but you can;t be dead and/or dying...or undead or whatever."
Killian pulled himself up from the ground and pulled the gun out of the drawer they ahd put it in...he really hated the damn thing but he knew it would make Alexis feel better if he kept it handy.

"It's not something you should look to be good at." Alexis let one hand raise to wrap a piece of her hair. She was glad to hear that Killian had little interests in fighting wars of that type. It kept people safer if they weren't looking for danger.
She smirked at his remarks and shook her head thoughtfully. She had the same thoughts when he was injured.
"In all honesty, I'll be fine. Give me a day or so. But you're going to have to take the stitches out. I have no idea how to do that."
Alexis sighed. It made her nervous to allow Killian downstairs alone. But if he had the gun, that would make things better. And she knew she was far too weak for any real fighting.
"Don't just hang out. Get some sleep. We probably won't see hide nor hair of Gardener for awhile. It's not his style to pop back up immediately. I'll feel a lot better in the morning."
Alexis pushed herself up from the floor and made it as far as sitting on the edge of the coffee table. She wanted her own bed, but that was going to require walking. Pushing herself up, she took a deep breath and waited for the dizziness which passed over her to pass.

"Yes mother," Killian replied with a smirk.
Killian watched for a second as Alexis struggeled to pull herself up off the floor and on her feet. He was almost positive she was gonna pitch forward the second she got upright so he pushed himself off the ground and was at her side in the very next moment.
"I'm guessing you'r not in the mood for a waltz so was it the bed you were headed to?" Killian asked with a small smile as he adjusted Alexis' weight so that she had pretty much all of it on him and she wouldn;t have to hurt herself in the process.
"It won't do any good to pop the stiches after putting them in," Killian muttered as he helped her across the space to the edge of her bed.
"Do you need me to get you your bag?" Killian asked making a motion towards the door. All of their stuff was downstairs sicne they ahd intended to leave...that plan had gone smashingly...bad.
