Gardener bit down into the side of the man's throat and began drawing blood. It was not the best he'd ever tasted. Gardener couldn't exactly place what it was he didn't like. But for some reason, he was pleased when the body was empty.
"Oh, she needs to watch." Gardener smirked as he strolled towards Alyssa. The woman she was holding appeared terrified-and for a good reason. Gardener ran a hand down the woman's cheek, liking the small whimper that escaped from around Alyssa's hand.
"It's going to be very simple, darling." He murmured, raising one nail to trace along the woman's jugular vein. "Just a quick opening right here. The blood will come on its own."
He reached forward and grabbed the woman's neck. Pulling her from Alyssa's grasp, he clamped his own hand over her mouth as he held her trembling form against him.
"His wife is under the stairs if you're still hungry, love-or if you're not hungry and just bored." He winked at Alyssa as he leaned around the woman to kiss Alyssa's lips lightly.

Alyssa watched as Gardener removed the woman from her grasp. The girl's terror was absolutely maddening, and Alyssa couldn't help the small glint of envy in her eyes as Gardener held the woman too him. As soon as he kissed her, however, she forgave him completely and placed a hand on the back of his head to pull him closer before leaving him with his meal.
The last woman was unconscious under the stairs and after playing with the sales girl, Alyssa wasn't interested in unconscious. She wasn't even all that hungry any more. She just liked the fear in her victims eyes. Pulling the woman out from under the stairs by her collar, Alyssa slapped the woman across the face until she awoke. The woman was groggy at first but when her eyes fell on whatever scene was behind Alyssa, she let out a small scream.
Quickly, Alyssa clamped her hand over the womans mouth to silence her and shook her head. "No screaming," she whispered. "It draws attention." The woman, under the false belief that Alyssa was their to help her nodded and relaxed slightly, though her eyes continued to dart back to whatever Gardener was doing. "Good then," Alyssa said pulling the woman into what she assumed was a comforting hug. "Everything is completely fine." Alyssa pulled back slightly, bared her fangs, and dug them into the woman's throat. She tasted average, but as Alyssa wasn't doing it for the taste, she didn't really care. The woman struggled and whimpered in her arms, and Alyssa felt much better.
When she had drained the body completely, she let it drop to the floor with a loud thud and left it to explore the rest of the store. Alyssa ran her tongue over her teeth as she thought and picked out a particularly attractive pair of sunglasses. Not that she would need them all that often, but that didn't matter if she didn't have to pay for them.
"What do you think?" she asked, putting them on and jokingly striking a pose for Gardener.

Gardener smiled as he watched Alyssa stroll across the room to the unconscious girl. He raised one hand to stroke the hair of the woman he currently held in his grasp.
"Want to watch?" He asked, "or are you ready for this to be over?"
The woman shook harder at his words. Gardener leaned down and inhaled the scent of her hair.
"You smell lovely. I'm not sure if it's the fragrance you're wearing....or the fact that I think you're about to have a heart attack."
Gardener wrapped his hand securely in the woman's hair and turned her head roughly to the side by it.
"Let's get on with this, shall we?" He lowered his mouth and bite down into the woman's throat. She made a high pitched whining sound and fought against him for a few minutes. Gardener ignored it. She tasted just as wonderful as he suspected she would.
When the body was empty, he gently laid it down on the floor just inside of the storage room. This would make for an interesting news report the following morning. He was already excited.
"What do you think?"
Gardener glanced up at Alyssa's words. He smiled, shaking his head as he strolled across the room to her. When he reached her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her to him.
"They're stunning." He informed her, kissing her lips before allowing his lips to drift to her throat. "Shall we head off to the Tower, darling? Our work here seems complete."

As Gardener pulled her to him, Alyssa allowed her arms to drape over his shoulders. She had siginificantly enjoyed herself so far and the night wasn't even slightly over yet. A good thing really, she wasn't ready to sleep yet.
"They're stunning."
"Good answer," she said after his lips had left hers. Her eyes closed as his lips reached her throat and she let out an involuntary sigh before pressing her lips tightly shut. Stupid weak spot.
"Shall we head off to the Tower, darling? Our work here seems complete."
"Mmmhmmm," she said, slightly distractedly. Then she opened her eyes and cleared her throat slightly. "Yes," she said more firmly. "Yes we most definitely should."

Gardener smirked at the faint sound which left Alyssa's mouth. He was glad he hadn't lost his touch. That would truly be the end of him.
"Agreed. It's time we got out of here." Gardener left Alyssa's side for a moment to stroll to the door and flipped the sign from "open" to "closed." Returning to Alyssa's side, he clasped her hand and guided her towards the door.
"We'll have to be sure to get up early to check the papers tomorrow." He smiled as he stepped onto the sidewalk. "That's easily going to be front page news. Possibly CNN headlines worthy."
Gardener was proud of himself. This would be his second time making the papers this month. He was going to need to start a scrapbook.

Alyssa was slightly relieved as Gardener left her side briefly to flip the sign on the door. It gave her a moment to breathe... well... not breathe necessarily... but it gave her a moment to compose herself and pretend that inappropriate thoughts hadn't been spedding through her mind, so that by the time Gardener had taken her hand and guided her towards the door, she was in complete control of herself.
"We'll have to be sure to get up early to check the papers tomorrow. That's easily going to be front page news. Possibly CNN headlines worthy."
Alyssa grinned. "Oh, I hope so," she said. She enjoyed making the news. Especially when she had enjoyed herself as much as she had tonight. It was always nice to know her work was appreciated. "Do you think feeding at a higher altitude would be more interesting?" she wondered, glancing at the top of the tower.

Gardener took a momentary pause to study his new jacket. It wasn't enough to make him want to invest in a new wardrobe, but he did look damn good.
"Do you think feeding at a higher altitude would be more interesting?"
"Oh, I think it would be fascinating. Maybe make the blood flow faster."
Gardener grinned at Alyssa and slipped his arm around her waist. He shook his head as he turned his attention back to the streets around them and the tower they were fast approaching.
"Look at you, you're all about terrorizing the city tonight. Paris is going to fear you by the morning, Alyssa Scarani."
As they reached the bottom of the tower, Gardener extracted a Euro bill from his pocket.
"Two, please." He smiled at the young girl working at the small ticket booth. "Thank you."
He took the tickets and took Alyssa's hand to lead her towards the elevator which would take them to the top of the tower.

"Oh, I think it would be fascinating. Maybe make the blood flow faster." Alyssa licked her lips slightly at this. She would definitely have to try feeding high up. "Look at you, you're all about terrorizing the city tonight. Paris is going to fear you by the morning, Alyssa Scarani."
She rested her hand over his one at her waist and shrugged. "I just haven't had this much fun in a while," she admitted. She hadn't realised she'd been missing out on so much, being a solitary vampire. "Thank you, Gardener."
As they entered the elevator, Alyssa felt like a child in her excitement. She didn't think she should be so excited about being at the top of the Eiffel Tower, people did it everyday of course. But this was new to her, and she did love heights.

"You're very welcome." Gardener smiled at Alyssa's words. He was greatly enjoying her company. He liked pestering humans. And it was much better to happen with someone else.
He gave the elevator operator a faint smile, as his mood for small talk had failed. He wondered just how populated the top of the tower would be this evening.
"Thank you, my good man." He said as the doors opened, letting them step out at the tower's highest point.
"Well, look at this." He took Alyssa's hand, pulling her towards the nearby railing. "Tell me this isn't one of the most amazing things you've ever seen?"
Gardener's eyes wandered in the direction of Notre Dame Cathedral. The view from the top of the tower was enough to take his breath away if he'd had any. It reminded him once again just how much he loved Paris.

"Well, look at this." Alyssa allowed him to lead her over to the railing, the blood she had just drunk rushing through her veins. "Tell me this isn't one of the most amazing things you've ever seen?"
"Wow," Alyssa whispered. It had to be the most amazing view she had seen in her entirely life. Paris had been beautiful from the ground, but from up here she had never seen anything like it.
"I think it's safe to say I'm never leaving Paris," she said, unable to take her eyes off the view infront of her. "This is absolutely amazing."

"I think it's safe to say I'm never leaving Paris,"
"Paris would be honored to have you." Gardener smiled, resting his arms on the railing so that he could look further.
"The museums could be another good evening jaunt. We could see art and remove pesky guards."
Gardener turned backwards, leaning himself backwards so his head could fall over the edge of the railing.
"So what should our plan be, darling?"

"The museums could be another good evening jaunt. We could see art and remove pesky guards."
Alyssa laughed. "Two of my favourite things," she said, grinning at him.
"So what should our plan be, darling?"
Alyssa tapped her fingers against her chin thoughtfully as she moved over to him, sliding her arms around his neck and pressing herself too him. "Well," she said, running her lips long his jaw lightly. "I'm thinking, back to the hotel... we can order room service... and then tomorrow night we can pick a museum and have some fun..." She gave him a small smile. "After all, it wouldn't do to do everything in one night, we might get bored." Though Alyssa highly doubted she could get bored in Paris.

Gardener smiled, watching as Alyssa closed the distance between them. He let his arms drift around her waist, pulling her closer as she rested against him. His eyes closed at the touch of her lips. Maybe women weren't his weakness, maybe it was just Alyssa.
"I like the way you think, darling." He murmured as he pressed his lips against her ear. "I'm sure the menu at the hotel will be divine."
Running his fingers along her back, Gardener glanced back over the city. Yes, they had plenty of time. There was no need to rush through Paris.
"Shall we head back where we came from then, love? I'm half tempted to sit up all night to wait for the paper."

"I like the way you think, darling."
"Something we have in common," she joked.
"I'm sure the menu at the hotel will be divine."
"I'm sure it will be." Alyssa arched her back slightly at the faint tickling sensation caused by Gardener's fingers running along her back, and she bit down on her bottom lip to keep from emitting yet another contented sigh.
"Shall we head back where we came from then, love? I'm half tempted to sit up all night to wait for the paper."
Alyssa gave Gardener a long, lingering kiss before smiling at him and nodding. "I think so," she said. She was quite excited to see the story in the paper the next morning as well. "Though maybe we could do something a little more interesting than sitting."

"Something we have in common,"
Gardener laughed softly. He adored Alyssa's sense of humor. Actually, he was beginning to adore everything about Alyssa. But he really didn't see the need to say such things.
He was momentarily caught off guard by the kiss which was suddenly pressed to his lips. He drew her tighter and held her for a long moment.
Though maybe we could do something a little more interesting than sitting."
"Oh, I'm entirely certain that I can come up with something far more interesting." Gardener whispered lightly against her ear. "Let's head back. I'll see what comes to mind in the walk back to the hotel."
He gently ran his fingers through Alyssa's hair before letting his lips drift over her cheek.
"Come on, love." He took her hand, spinning her carefully back towards the elevator. He was greatly entertained by Paris. It was much nicer than the last time he'd been into town-especially with his present company.
