"And no pop culture references. It makes me think of Gardener."
Killian grew silent at the mention of Gardener. They had managed not to mention his name like he was some vampiris form of Lord Voldemort or something and Killian realized he was much happier when they weren't saying his name.
Killian's attention was momentarily held by not so pleasent thoughts when the dresser slipped from Alexis's grasp. Killian faltered slightly as the unexpected weight slid down towards him as the dresser hit the wall and Killian stumbeled and hit the stairs his grip falling from the dresser.
...oh shit...

Alexis reacted quickly as the dresser moved towards Killian. She grabbed the item and pulled it back onto the second step. She could handle the dresser being broken, but Killian....not so much.
"You ok?" She asked, steadying the way too large pice of furniture. "I don't want to see you crushed to death."
She pulled the dresser up to the third step and wondered if it would make things better if she just handled the project herself.

Killian's eyes grew slightly wide as he realized that he was no doubt about to die....by furniture which would just be pathetic. Stumbeling backwards he cringed as he anticapated the hit that never exactly came.
"I don't want to see you crushed to death."
"...You and me both..." Killian replied with a shakey breath once he saw that Alexis had re-adjusted her grip on to the piece of furniture.
"Maybe I don't need a dresser..." Killian muttered as he pulled himself back up to his feet and made his way back up to where Alexis was pulling up the dresser. He hesistated for the slightest of mooments but the sorted himself under it once more hoping they could manage to get it up again before it tried to take him out again.

Alexis watched Killian shake himself out. No doubt he was not even slightly intrigued at the concept of being crushed by to death by a dresser.
"You'll be fine." She reassured him. "Come on, let's just get this done with. Get a good solid grip on it."
She was beginning to think that she should be in Killian's position. If the dresser fell backwards on her, it would hurt, but not kill her. Unless, of course, it managed to break into a piece of wood and stake her through the heart. And for that matter, it wouldn't be impossible at the rate they were going.
"Come on." She pulled the dresser up onto the next step. "We're on step three. There's six more to go. We can do this."

"No really...I don't need a dresser..." Killian muttered as he held on to the dresser like his life depeneded on it...and knowing their luck lately it most likely did.
"Your count down...is not helping," Killian wanted her to know as he continued to work his grip on the cresser as they pushed it up the stairs.
He realized soemthing for a moment that was rather stunning...he had never moved into anywhere...ever. It was something that would seem like such a normal thing to do to so many people an dyet he had never done it.
"You know Alexis...I've never moved into anything..." Killian said expalining his random thought.

Alexis was closed to going off on a rant about why Killian did need a dresser, but she caught herself. Now wasn't the time for lectures.
"Oh calm down....what?" Alexis looked over the top of the dresser at Killian. "How have you never moved into anything?"
She tugged the dresser up to the fourth step. So far so good. Killian was still in one piece.
"Why didn't we take the drawers out first?" Alexis looked at Killian. "That would have made it lighter."

"I've never moved into anywhere this last solid place I had to live was over 300 years ago; I don;t have much and the whole not aging thing tends to tip people off after awhile and nobody is going to give a 17 year old a loan to get a house so I've always just moved from place to place," Killian explained as they continued to shuffle the dresser upstairs.
He still thought he could have gotten away without needing one but apprently Alexis was not keen on that idea.
Killian shrugged as Alexis asked what he figured was a rhetorical question about the drawers.

Alexis realized she probably should have considered that answer. She knew far too well that you needed to move around a bit in order to cut down on suspicion. Actually, it was probably getting close for her to move again.
"Yeah, I know. That was a dumb question." She shifted the dresser onto the fifth step. It hit the edge at a bad angle and slipped. Alexis caught it before it could knock Killian down like a bowling ball.
"Almost there." She glanced over her shoulder. "And as an FYI, next time we're hiring professionals."
