"Good because I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be."
He felt his sides as they felt like they were on fire as her hands traveled over him. The pain was intense but he barely felt it over the emotions he held for her. As soon as she pulled away that changed.
Oh god! I think my chest is on fire!
he tried not to let it show on his face. He regretted her pulling away but he was also silently thankful she did.
"That's ok I'd hate making you do all the work, plus it's no fun if I'm not involved. Well maybe it would be fun for me."
He reluctantly pulled his hands from her hair and from her back so she could get up. He rolled on to his back and tried to get comfortable. His back was the worst as it had hit the wall directly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to keep you to busy. I imagine it's pain enough to take care of me. I promise not to stick around and bug you to long. You don't know what happened to my truck do you?"

Alexis sat up and flipped her hair back. She felt the need to shower again.
Hours running around in the sewer will do that to you.
"I have to get another shower. I am not, under any circumstances going down into those sewers again."
Alexis got out of bed. As if a final reminder of her life downstairs, she heard her phone beep a text message.
"You're no trouble. And you can stay all you want."
Alexis distracted her thoughts from the idea of him leaving to what she should wear. She prefered dresses and skirts to almost anything else.
"No idea. I'm sure it's wherever you left it though. Unless the city got to it, that is. If you're feeling up to it in a day or two, I'll give you my car keys and you can go track it down."
Alexis entered her closet. She flipped through a rack containing black dresses. She selected one trimmed with a deep pink belt. Turning to her shoe section, she found a pair of pink stelleto heels.
"So," she asked as she returned to the bedroom. "Can I trust you to rest today?" She sat down on the bed beside Jon and idly let her fingers trace his arm.

"Don't worry I'm sure we can find you something to eat around here."
He felt like he had forced her to change her way of life and it made a guilty feeling form in the pit of his stomach.
"Thanks, I really don't know how I can make it up to you."
"I'm sure I'll find it, it's got a lojack system and I can just... the lojack is connected to my computer in my truck... great..."
He watched as she pulled out a black dress with some pink stiletto heels.
Damn... How did I ever get so lucky to find her.
"I think you should know that's not about to happen, I'll just promise not to bother you at work. I doubt you have any business associates that wouldn't be bothered that there's a guy in sleepwear in your apartment."
He took her hand in his and held it against his chest. It helped relax him and made him forget the soreness as his body ached. He laid there for a few moments as he felt his body once again succumb to the exhaustion that racked him.
"Thank you...", he slipped into the unconcious state of sleep.

Jon's comment made Alexis wonder for a second if she was hungry. She decided the answer was no. Apparently she'd gotten enough in the sewer last night. It was probably the gator-shape shifter that had cemented it.
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it." He was making it up enough to her just by being there, and not running away.
Alexis rolled her eyes at Jon's words. Men. It had to be a stubbornness that was embedded in their genes. Even vampire men were the same way.
"Actually," she considered some of the men she worked with, "I have some businesses associates that would really appreciate it."
Alexis watched as he held her hand. It seemed to calm her down and kept any of her past rage from coming anywhere close to the surface.
"I'll be back," she whispered gently as Jon dozed off, "get some sleep."
Alexis brushed her lips against his forehead. She was again amazed that she was able to allow a human this close to her. But it was the first thing in centuries she really felt like she was enjoying
Gently, she detangled her hand from his and got up. She took another shower, dried her hair and dressed quickly. Her phone was ringing in the kitchen. Another day, another dollar.

It had only been a few hours since Jon had fallen asleep but he found himself waking up still in Alexis's room. He pulled the blankets off of himself and swung his legs over the side of the bed. He was halfway through stretching his back when the aches caught up with him. He nearly fell down from the pain that caused his back to sieze up. It took a few moments until he felt the throbbing stop.
He made his way into the bathroom and went to the mirror to see what he looked like. His body was nearly completely black and blue with scrapes and scratches. This was by far one of the worst hunts he'd taken. He decided to try and walk around a bit so he wouldn't get to stiff.
Maybe I'll see how the store's doing.
He slowly made his way down the steps but stayed in the back room. Through the door he could see people browsing through everything. Alexis looked busy at she tended to each of her customers. He wondered how many of them could be nonhuman, anymore it was harder and harder to tell. It was one reason he didn't like large groups.
He made his way upstairs and decided to try and help around her place. He had thoughts of making her dinner but remembered she didn't eat what he did, he was going to help clean but her place already was, she probably didn't use any dishes and he wouldn't want to ruin her expensive clothes.
He stuck to taking a long hot shower so he could relax. As the water rolled over him he tried to memorize everything he had stored in his laptop in case it was gone. He hated the thought of losing it and his truck. He needed something to distract him, for now he'd just relax as best as he could.

Alexis had bribed Clinton to do her grocery shopping for her that morning. With Jon in the house for an undetermined amount of time, she needed at least a reasonable amount of food. And bribing Clinton was fairly easy. It had only cost her a green velvet jacket he'd had his eye on since it walked through the door.
After he left, Alexis carried the grocery bags plus the take out sandwich she'd asked him to pick up. She put the bags on the table and arranged the sandwich neatly on a plate. She could hear the water running in the bathroom. For a moment, the idea of joining him tempted her, but she knew she'd regret it when she had to get redressed.
Alexis figured Jon was probably bored with having to just lay around all day. She moved the television out of the closet and reconnected it to the cable. Then she moved her laptop from it's place under the sofa. Going down the hallway, she pushed the bathroom door open.
"Lunch is on the table." She told him. "And I tried to find you a few things to keep yourself busy."

Jon turned off the water when he heard the door to the bathroom open. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around himself before stepping out. After changing he made slow progress down the hall as he followed her.
"Lunch?", he couldn't imagine a vampire that probably hadn't eaten regular food in a long time let alone prepared any cook much. He suppressed a laugh as he saw it was take out and realized he hadn't eaten in almost two days. He also saw a TV he hadn't seen before and a laptop now sitting on the table.
"You didn't have to do all this. I already feel bad enough that I'm staying here."
Jon sat down at the table and slowly dug in to the sandwich she'd gotten him. He hadn't tasted anything so good in a long time.
"So how's the shop doing, you looked pretty busy earlier. Does anyone else work here with you?"
He opened up her laptop as he was talking to her. he wanted to see how his truck was doing, one of the bonuses of it was he could check the lojack from anywhere with the proper information.
Right where I left her, and it doesn't seem like the alarm went off.
He hated to admit but he'd become attached to the truck. It had been a gift and he wouldn't want to part with it.
"Please do me a favor though and don't sleep on the couch tonight. I don't like putting you out of your own bed and besides I bet I'm fun to cuddle with", he added a sly wink. He was beginning to feel better and he hoped it wouldn't be to long before he could get out again.

Alexis settled down in one of the chair's across the table from Jon and kicked her legs up on the chair next to her.
"Well, you need to keep yourself occupied. It will keep you from getting down about being inside."
Alexis didn't know much about treating humans except for what she read in magazines, but she figured it had to be somewhat true.
"The shop is good. And no, I'm a bit of a control freak. I don't do well with other people's help."
She left out the part that if she did have someone help her and they did anger her, she had past problems with killing them.
Alexis watched with amusement as Jon checked out the laptop.
"Can I assume that look means you located your truck?" She had to imagine that if most of your life was in a vehicle, panic would set in at the thought of having lost it.
"I think we can manage that." Alexis gave him a sly smile at his suggestion. "But I'm going to remind you, I have insomniac tendancies. I don't want to keep you up."

"Ya I guess having to train people and deal with that could be stressful, probably makes you want to rip their head off."
He decided to check the hunter sites to see if there was anything new, he had to be careful to leave no trace of it. He would probably become hunted if anyone found out a vampire had found the site and it would make Alexis a target since she'd have the information. It was best for both of them that she never found out about it.
"Yes, which is good because I didn't park far away so it shouldn't be to hard to get to it."
He had most of his stuff in that truck, all of the stuff except what he hid in his vault. He couldn't imagine a time when he hadn't been driving around the country on one hunt after another. He was still getting ready for the biggest hunt of his life but that would take some time still. He snapped back to reality as Alexis began talking again.
"I think I could go without sleep for one night, I don't really have to go anywhere. This time I think we can skip the drugged drink. It was fun last time but not as much as it could have been."

"In more ways than you know." Alexis twirled a lock of her hair as she watched Jon play on the computer. She needed a new one and hoped it wasn't running too slow for him.
"I've been having problems with that computer. So don't be surprised if it crashes on you."
Alexis pulled a strand of hair infront of her face and examined it. The ends had been pretty much fried from being knotted in the sewer. She was going to have to get it fixed soon.
"Well, good then. I'm assuming the drugged sandwich will take it's place nicely though." Alexis winked, looking up at Jon with a smirk to show she was kidding. "And only if you can prove to me you're not going to be in agony every second with those bruises."
She leaned across the table and kissed him lightly.
"I have to get back downstairs."

Just as she had said that the computer screen jumped in front of him.
Great all I need is for this thing to shut down before I can delete the history.
He was generally worried she would find it, not because she would tell any non-hunters but because she might ask some questions that would cause the other hunters to come and find her.
"Excellent maybe this time I won't drop after half an hour."
He took a bite of the sandwich for emphasis. He knew she was kidding but then again she may have changed her mind about keeping him. He kissed her back as she got up to go down to the shop again.
"I guess I'll see you tonight then, anyone gives you trouble just shout. I can still handle a regular person easily enough, it's only extremely beautiful, sexy, amazing vampiress's that I can't seem to defeat. I'll find something on TV to keep me occupied."

Alexis got up from her chair and crossed to Jon's side. Leaning down, she gave him a deeper kiss.
"Flattery will get you everything. I'll try not to be too long."
Alexis headed back downstairs. The afternoon passed with relative ease. A handful of salesmen stopped in toting their products. Two of them won her over by bringing samples. The other three would have had their throats torn out a month earlier.
Finally, it was 6:00. Alexis shut down the store, locked up and turned to head back upstairs. Fortunately, she hadn't received any phone calls asking her to come to events that evening. As a final stamp of approval, she turned off her cell phone. Alexis returned upstairs to the apartment to see what Jon had found to occupy himself.

Jon had been about to say something else but it became unimportant as Alexis went over and kissed him again.
He sat at the computer again and ran a couple of virus scans. He figured out why it was shutting off randomly but it was still a little outdated and he couldn't do anything about that. For now he'd have to go around and order some of the things that had gotten lost. A new machete and some knives, a couple of "decorative" glass vials that happened to be good for dead man's blood and a few other small things. He turned on the TV and began flipping through the channels, he would occasionally notice people on the news or reality shows that would stand out. Mostly shapeshifters or whatever creature wanted to play human for a while. He went to his laptop's back up site to make sure everything was still there and to add an entry on Alexis.
Name: London, Alexis Type: Vampiress Status: Alive, residing in New York
Notes: Subject has proven to be in some control of her blood craving and has shown benevolent emotion towards others. Passes as a human by owning a boutique and having several business dealings. Subject has developed quasi-romantic feelings with myself, that are shared. Has proven capable of being nurturing and surviving off animals. There is no current need to dispatch of subject. Subject owns one known vial of DMB, possibly having been used but may have more.
Plan of Action: To be decided as of yet.
He would try to get a picture of her as soon as he could. He tried to do it with anyone that went into his files but it wasn't as though he could just pull out a camera and take a picture. He didn't know when the shop closed so he left the computer file open in case he found something to add. He glanced at the clock to see what time it was.
A little after six, plenty of time to clean up a bit.
He went into the bedroom and made up the bed for Alexis since it was the only room that needed any straightening. He was still in there when Alexis had come upstairs.

Alexis found Jon absent from the living room area. She saw the computer was still open and went over to shut it down. Glancing at the screen, Alexis caught sight of her name and skimmed it. Not a bad article, but he had a few details wrong plus he was missing most of her aliases.
She could hear Jon moving around in the bedroom and gave up on it. She could correct it later. Shutting off the television, she headed that way.
"There you are." She leaned down and kissed his cheek lightly. "Did you keep yourself busy? By the way, you're missing a bit of information on me on the computer. I can update it for you if you want."

Jon heard the TV click off and heard Alexis walking around. He turned to face her when she came in, he'd just finished making the bed and straightening up a bit.
"Not as busy as I'm gonna keep you."
He pulled her back on the bed so she was straddling his lap. He squeezed her thighs as he kissed her back zealously. He froze when she mentioned the computer file.
Crap, crap, crap, crap, I can't believe I left that out.
He imagined her fangs sliding down and her biting into his neck for him making a file on her. He couldn't have stopped her even if he hadn't been holding her in his lap. He imagined that most people wouldn't like it but it helped him keep track of everything. He had hoped that eventually he'd be able to figure who knew who and where they came from. He felt relieved as she mentioned fixing it for him.
"Y-yes, yes, we can fix that later though. Right now all I want to do is lay here with you and brag about how beautiful you are. We can do the boring stuff later."
