Flick had stared at the vial the Goblin had given her for what seemed like hours when she'd gotten home. Her sight for her freedom... the more she thought about it the stupider it sounded. How had he even begun to convince her that was a good idea? Being essentially, a goblin, and that particular Goblin's bitch... yeah... what a deal.
But then of course she had remembered exactly how he had convinced her it was a good idea. Killian had disappeared because he didn''t want a blind girl trailing after him... Now... she hardly thought she had been 'trailing', but if she was such a burden to someone she barely knew, why not to everyone else around her? Hell, it seemed Jamie had completely jumped ship the first chance he got. She hadn't heard from him in weeks. Not even a text to remind her he was still alive.
And so she had taken the stupid stuff in the stupid vial. Every hour on the hour just like he said. And completely passed out with the last swig, just like he said. Flick wouldn't exactly have called the whol experience 'sleep' exactly. Her eyes were closed, and she was exactly conscious, but it definitely wasn't sleep. It wasn't refreshing, it was full of the most messed of dreams she had ever had in her entire life, and it hurt a little.
When Flick awoke sometime later and opened her eyes, the first thing she was aware of was the blinding light that actually forced her to cry out in surprise and try and block the source of it with her hand. It took her a moment to realise that being blinded by light meant tht her eyes were working... sort of. She blinked rapidly, and tried to adjust, and after a while the light was less blinding. Still harsh, but she could see through it, and to the details of her room. Which for some reason was how she'd always imagined it anyway.
Climbing off the bed, which she apparently hadn't had time to actually get fully into before the contents of the vial had begun to take effect, she sprinted downstairs, now actually able to see every one of them before stepping on it. She made her way towards the kitchen, fully intending to make a meal she probably wouldn't have attempted blind, when something on the living room coffee table caught her eye. Changing course, she sat herself down on the couch and picked up the piece of paper. Though it took her a minute, it seemed an added bonus of whatever made her see, actually let her be able to read. Soemthing she hadn't really thought of till now.
Flick!
Hey! Sorry about waking you last night but it was a nice change to have somebody to talk to. Sorry I have to go...it's almost 9:00 and Alexis is gonna kill me!...Not really but near enough.
-Killian
Flick allowed herself to smile slightly. He hadn't left at all because he was frustrated with her, or anything of a sort, he simply hadn't thought when he'd left the note, apparently forgetting she was blind.
Wait.
If he hadn't left because he was sick of her blindness, then the goblin had lied to her. And she'd agreed to his stupid deal for no apparent reason.
Still staring at the note, Flick could only think of one thing to say.
"Well, fuck."
