History:
Templeton Ferenc Nadasdy-Bathory was born the same night his father died. He was the youngest of 4 and the last child Elizabeth Bathory would give birth to. As Templeton was seen as the last gift her husband gave to her to Countess kept the child near to her at all times...exceptionally near. Not a soul was allowed near the boy unless Elizabeth was there as well. The infant was kept near even when Elizabeth Bathory set about doing what she did best...murder. Barely a week old Templeton Bathory had already witnessed murder and bloodshed and that continued on for 2 years until Elizabeth Bathory was found out and walled up for her crimes to await trial.
His siblings were taken and split up for their own protection but Elizabeth would not release her son and those who would wall up the woman would not take the baby from her. It was too young and small and would die anyways so therefor it could die walled up with its mother. So in 1610 Templeton Bathory found himself walled up within the castle with his mother and there they both stayed for 4 years until Elizabeth Bathory died.
Those who came for her body were taken by surprise to find the now 6 years old Templeton Bathory laying next to the corpse of his mother in her room. The boy who they had all thought would have died had not died at all but had grown and lived with nothing but the company of a blood thirsty woman whom he adored till she took her very last breath. Templeton was taken from the castle and given to the Prime Minister of Hungary who was a cousin of the Countess and the boys nearest living relative.
Templeton did not speak a word once he was taken from his mother dead arms. The boy was pale but the Prime Minister could not ignore the haunting fact that he looked exceptionally like his mother. His eyes were mirror images of the Countess and he had the same dark hair and pale complexion she had been known for. It was the child's silence which drove the Prime Minister mad...that and the biting. The boy was silent and not quick to anger but when he was pushed to a certain point even Templeton snapped and it usually resulted with someone bleeding from a rather nasty bite.
He took solace in studying and surprisingly so had a fascination for religion. The time he was not locked away in his room Templeton would be in the church surrounded but any number of ancient biblical books and studies. It was in the dead of winter when the Prime Minister was approached in regards to the boy he kept under his roof; the son of a murdering woman.
Elizabeth Bathory had not been brought to trial...so many deaths had gone unanswered for the people believed and this dark stranger the Prime Minister found himself in the company of demanded payment in the form of the boys blood. The Prime Minister was not a brave man...and therefor he agreed to let the stranger have the boy as a form of payment for the lives with Elizabeth Bathory had taken.
Stolen from bed in the middle of the night Templeton was held in a dark house by men and women he never saw and would never see again. They spoke of things he had no knowledge of and things which terrified him just the same. The stranger who had demanded the boys life was no human at all but was the leader of a small vampire clan who had lost many of their claimed women to Elizabeth Bathory. They took their time with the son of the Countess; slowly draining him of blood over the span of 2 months and then they left leaving the boy to die.
The leader thought death for a Bathory was far too simple and it was better to have the boy suffer over several lifetimes with what he was to become and so in the dead of night on Christmas Eve Templeton Bathory was truly made into a monster.
It took several years for Templeton to grasp what it was he had become but over time he did and instead of suffer as he had been made to he used what had been given to him to do what he enjoyed most within his life and that oddly enough was religion. Over the years Templeton traveled from country to country living with monks and learning as much as he could from them. He did what he could to become like them...which usually ended in a monastery filled with dead monks...a fasting vampire never seemed to end well.
Tibet, France, Greece, England, Canada, Iceland, Greenland, China, Russia...you name it and Templeton has traveled there and learned what he could. He doesn't know much about what lies within the world around him but as far as culture and religion is concerned he knows his studies very well. He struggles with the urge to kill but does so in order to survive.
After nearly a lifetime in Tibet Templeton has made his way to America and is not entirely certain what it is he is looking for but something has been pulling at him for some time and he is no longer able to ignore it.
