"A guardian who leaves a blind girl on her own? How is she?...
"She was fine when I left...a bit pissed which I'm sure by now is just compounded," Killian explained. He had thought the idea of Jamie leaving Flick on her own was a bit odd but though she seemed annoyed she had seem ok with it...ish.
"...Is she human?"
"Yes!...She's just a bit...different," Killian explained with a small shrug as he attempted to search the right words to explain Flick's extra...skills.
He wasn't sure what all of the details were on what she knew and how she did it they ahdn't really gotten the chance to go into that.
"She's a bit of a psychic...knows things that she shouldn't; can sense it. She knew something was off with me from the start and the more time I spent around her the quicker she figured it out...ish. She called me on it and then I explained....then I left her a note..."
The timing of it was all gone to shit. That was half the problem; Flick was probably solidly under the impression that she had freaked him out of offended him or pissed him off or God knew what and he had bailed.
"Can life get any worse?"
"It can always get worse...don't you remember our first meal at the cafe?" Killian stated with a smirk...now that had been a bloody disaster.
"Depends, did you leave me to go hunt werewolves?"
"Nope just went on a roadtrip with vampires."
"There's two sides to every story, Killian. Always. You have to listen to both. I wouldn't hate you if you left-depending on your reasons of course. But it would sadden me imensely if you left me."
Killian looked back at Alexis. He knew what they were technically talking about...but at the same time he was rather certain there were other meanings behind her words.
"I'm not going to leave Lex," Killian explained as he looked at her sincerely. She was pretty much the only family he had come close to having for over 300 years he wasn't about to lose that now.
"Just think men may come and go but you'll forever have me driving you nuts."
"Maybe I'm being difficult. I don't have a right to take this out on Ryden, do I?"
"No...no you don't have much of a right to take it out on pretty much the only soul who has helped us out in this mess. But you do have a right to be mad...and hurt...and more then a tad bit un-trusting and maybe just maybe you might want to talk to him...it could help...you and him," Killian explained leaning back in the armchair and staring up at the ceiling.

"She was fine when I left...a bit pissed which I'm sure by now is just compounded,"
"Still seems odd to me." Alexis shrugged, still throughly confused by the issue. "Please tell me she's like 20 and not 14?"
"Yes!...She's just a bit...different,"
Oh great. Well, that could mean anything. Alexis had been around long enough to know that there were a variety of different beings in the world. She hadn't seen one like Killian before, but she'd met a fair amount of shifters.
"She's a bit of a psychic...knows things that she shouldn't; can sense it. She knew something was off with me from the start and the more time I spent around her the quicker she figured it out...ish. She called me on it and then I explained....then I left her a note..."
"Oh....great." Alexis raised an eyebrow. She had never met a psychic before, but she figured if the girl was psychic, couldn't that confirm that Killian hadn't left for fun?
"So can't she tell then that you didn't leave out of malice?"
She ran her fingers through her long hair, tossing it over the back of the chair.
"Sorry, I don't really get what psychics do. I've never met one before. My knowledge of them comes from Miss Tammy and her buddies at the Psychic hotline."
Insomnia was a bitch, and Alexis had seen way too many late night info-mercials for that over her years. It had been big in the 1980s, very big.
"It can always get worse...don't you remember our first meal at the cafe?"
"We don't speak of that meeting." Alexis raised a warning finger in Killian's direction. That day had been a nightmare, and had continued to get worse.
"That was the day I got the bright idea to call Gardener." And then things had really gone to hell-fast!
"Nope just went on a roadtrip with vampires."
Alexis rolled her eyes. She couldn't imagine a road trip with the undead was fun, but vampires were probably a lot easier to deal with the something of the zombie effect.
"I'm not going to leave Lex,"
"Good." Alexis turned to meet his eyes sincerely. She didn't care who was in her life, so long as Killian remained.
"I have a brother," she told him, reaching out to squeeze his hand lightly, "but you're more family to me than he is."
"Just think men may come and go but you'll forever have me driving you nuts."
"Well, when you put it that way...." Alexis rolled her eyes at Killian before giving him a quick smile. She didn't know what she'd do without him.
"No...no you don't have much of a right to take it out on pretty much the only soul who has helped us out in this mess. But you do have a right to be mad...and hurt...and more then a tad bit un-trusting and maybe just maybe you might want to talk to him...it could help...you and him,"
"I don't know if there is a he and I....I don't even know if I want there to be." That was honest, Alexis didn't know if she could put herself in a relationship again. She'd gone almost 600 years without one, so why not keep it up?
"But you're right, I do need to try and not hurt the man who did go out of his way to help-the man who was there."
She was still ungodly bitter. When she thought about all that had happened, it cemented how badly she wanted to run to Ryden's arms. She glanced towards the elevator. It woud be very easy to go up to his room right. The pull she'd been feeling all night suddenly strengthed and she wanted to see Ryden more than anything.

"Please tell me she's like 20 and not 14?"
"She's 20 thank you very much...older then me...if we don't go into the fine print...14?! What kind of person do you think I am?!" Killian asked staring back at Alexis doing his best to stay offended.
"So can't she tell then that you didn't leave out of malice? Sorry, I don't really get what psychics do. I've never met one before. My knowledge of them comes from Miss Tammy and her buddies at the Psychic hotline."
"That makes two of us," Killian explained isnking further down into the chair and closing his eyes with a sigh.
"I don't know the ins and outs we didn;t get around to that bit I just know she can feel things I guess...hell if I know for certain though."
Life was never black and white though; Killian had learned that a very long time ago...from experience no less.
"I don't know if there is a he and I....I don't even know if I want there to be. But you're right, I do need to try and not hurt the man who did go out of his way to help-the man who was there."
"You have to do what's right for you...and only you," Killian explained forcing his eyes open so that he could focus on Alexis.
"It's ok to be selfish. Hell everyone else is," he continued with a shrug.
Alexis had bee hurt when Jon had left she hadn;t said antyhing and Killian had really thought he had died or something of the sort but he could tell she was not ok with it and now with Jon attempting to play hero all he had done was tear her wound clean open again and cause Alexis pain.
"Besides worse comes to worse me and you always have the Fiji plan," Killian explained with a small smile.
Killian was rather certain Alexis wouldn't approve...or maybe she would...but just the same there were things...several things he had planned to tell Jon but he would make sure Lex was sorted first...and then he was pretty certain a phone call needed to be made.

"She's 20 thank you very much...older then me...if we don't go into the fine print...14?! What kind of person do you think I am?!"
Alexis had to laugh, mainly because Killian had just confirmed that this girl was not just a friend who happened to be a girl.
"Oh, so you're saying she IS that kind of a friend?" Alexis raised an eyebrow. "Where'd you meet her?"
"I don't know the ins and outs we didn;t get around to that bit I just know she can feel things I guess...hell if I know for certain though."
"Well, that's different." Alexis wanted to meet the girl. And with a sick thought, she realized that it might be harder to get Killian out of New York if he had a girlfriend.
"I'd like to meet her when we get back."
If they got back, that was another one Alexis needed to consider. But she was going to forget that one as well for a few.
"You have to do what's right for you...and only you,"
"I did that for a very, very long time." Alexis told him. "And that wasn't a good thing apparently."
Alexis thought of the vampire she had been. She'd gotten along without hearbreak, but she remembered she'd been slightly jealous when she'd seen her sister with her own boyfriend. Even vampires-human feeding, murderous, or not, they needed closeness and affection. She knew she shouldn't just pretend that she could go another 500 years without contact.
"It's ok to be selfish. Hell everyone else is,"
"That's certainly true." Alexis thought, thinking back to Jon. "I think Jon gave out a damn good demostration of that."
"Besides worse comes to worse me and you always have the Fiji plan,"
"I'd say let's go now if there wasn't the chance the plane would crash." Alexis muttered bitterly.
Getting out of her chair, she tossed out her hair and picked up the snow globe.
"I'm going to go and make an attempt to talk to Ryden and see if it won't help a bit. Why don't you try and get some sleep? It'll pass the night faster until we can go deal with his ex wife."
Alexis suspected she would go back to never being able to sleep again. God, this sucked.
"And I'm taking the snow globe for safety's sake. Trust me, Killian, we're going to put our faith on this thing not breaking. It'll be ok. Stay positive, right?"

"Oh, so you're saying she IS that kind of a friend? Where'd you meet her?"
"She's a friend..." Killian stated glaring slightly at Alexis before turning his eyes back towards the ceiling...he would have been counting the cracks in the plaster if there had been any.
"And I met her when I nearly plowed over her on the sidewalk...turned a corner...got taken out by air and took her down with me...it was all sorts of violent. Niolent as our first meeting of course...but a close second," Killian explained with a faint smirk. If he was into such things he would have liked the way he had literally run into Felicity Grey...without the curse of course...but then again Killian didn't admit such things...in public anyways.
"I'd like to meet her when we get back."
"We get out of Salem in one piece...and if she still wants to speak to me then you can meet her...if your not embarrassing...or whatever it is women tend to be like when meeting other women," Killian explained with a sigh as he gave up his invisible game of ceiling crack counting and returned his gaze to Alexis.
"I'd say let's go now if there wasn't the chance the plane would crash."
"See now that right there is being optimistic...you thinking we would make it on to the plane," Killian responded with a laugh. There luck had been anything short of funny for awhile now but honestly it was either laugh or cry and crying would get them nowhere save for weird looks from the staff.
"And I'm taking the snow globe for safety's sake. Trust me, Killian, we're going to put our faith on this thing not breaking. It'll be ok. Stay positive, right?"
"Aye aye captain," Killian responded as he pulled himself out of the arm chair with a mock salute aimed in Alexis' direction.
Sleep could possibly occur...possibly...or he could always do the who counting of non existence cracks in his room ceiling; it would be a good time for all involved.
"Have a good night Lex...and just remember we've always got Fiji," Killian explained with a smirk.

"She's a friend..."
And she was rewarded with a slight glare from Killian. Alexis had to laugh. She wondered if Killian realized that she knew she was hitting nerves and kept hitting them.
"And I met her when I nearly plowed over her on the sidewalk...turned a corner...got taken out by air and took her down with me...it was all sorts of violent. Niolent as our first meeting of course...but a close second,"
"Well now, that would be a hell of a story to tell the grandkids." Alexis smirked, twisting a piece of her hair between her fingers. "And I'm sure they'll be interested in the details of our first meeting too."
Alexis could hardly search her memory for the first meeting with Killian. Life had changed just so much since that day in the cemetary.
"We get out of Salem in one piece...and if she still wants to speak to me then you can meet her...if your not embarrassing...or whatever it is women tend to be like when meeting other women,"
"Oh, I'm sure she'll want to speak to you." Alexis sighed, and then it occured to her what Killian had just said.
"Did you call me embarrassing? What the hell?!" She gave him a mock look of hurt before turning her eyes back to the lobby doorway.
"See now that right there is being optimistic...you thinking we would make it on to the plane,"
"All right, that's a valid point." Alexis leaned over and kissed Killian's cheek quickly.
"Have a good night Lex...and just remember we've always got Fiji,"
"Indeed." Alexis ignored Killian's salute and gave him a serious look. "Get some rest, please? I don't need you so exhausted and stressed you can't function tomorrow. And this town drains you. You need it."
She knew Killian hated being here, so being in a place he was in general unhappy was going to wear his human body down and that concerned her. She didn't know if he could get sick, but she didn't want to risk it.
"Do it for me." She called, heading for the doorway. "I don't want to do Fiji alone."
