History:
Andy's version of childhood is very different to most other people's versions of childhood. Most kids went to school, learned their abc's, made friends and generally lived boring lives. But not Andy and her brother. Their parents were hunters of the supernatural persuasion and it seemed that they were determined to have their children grow up to be the same. And Andy loved it.
She didn't know what it was, but everything seemed to come easy to her. Recognising, tracking and killing, it all made sense. Somewhere in the back of her mind she knew it shouldn't... not when she was ten years old... but it did and there was nothing she could do about it now. Rory, on the other hand was not so inclined. He was damn good at the medical side of stuff though and that always came in useful.
One day, when she and Rory were 16 years old... their parents disappeared. Andy assumed they had gone off to hunt... and in truth was surprised it had taken them this long. What with their love for it being so intense. It did hurt though, that they hadn't said good bye. She knew they weren't like normal parents but still... at least a note would have been nice.
Rory mentioned something about starting again, living normal lives... but that just wasn't an option for Andy. She didn't think she could live a normal life even if she wanted to. And being the oldest - yes ten minutes counts - she won, and managed to drag Rory with her across the country hunting evil.
And for three years it went well. It was as amazing as she'd always thought it would be... and then it all turned to shit. A werewolf in Virginia. It was a hunt she couldn't resist, no matter how many times Rory told her it was a bad idea. By the end, of course, she was desperately wishing she'd listened. All the evidence pointed towards a cop. A good cop too, he didn't know what he was or that he'd killed so many people over the past few months. But to Andy, that made him more dangerous and she couldn't take the risk that he would continue to kill.
So, with Rory sitting in the car, morally against what she was doing, Andy broke into the cops house and shot him dead while he was in werewolf form. She didn't stick around to see him turn back into human form... she wasn't that twisted. But then she and Rory were arrested, brought down by a stupid security camera. Of course it never saw the werewolf... just the dead human version after she had shot him.
They couldn't hold Rory... there was no evidence and Andy refused to admit he had anything to do with it. She would not let him go to jail for something she'd done... he wouldn't do well... and he didn't deserve it. It didn't matter that they offered her a lighter sentence in exchange for something against Rory. She told them where to shove it and was given a life sentence.
That was five years ago... not even nearly a life sentence, but long enough. If Andy was hard before, jail only made it worse. She became more cynical, more paranoid, more violent and more alone, having spent the whole time refusing to see Rory. While she wanted so much to talk to him, to apologise for the shit she put him through... to just see him, she didn't want him anywhere near the prison. Not knowing how badly the authorities wanted him too. He didn't deserve jail and he shouldn't have had to go near it, not even for a visit.
About a week ago, Andy broke out. It was surprisingly easy and she managed to do it without killing anyone. She's been looking for Rory since... it being rather difficult considering she is now a fugitive. But she could see him now that she was out of prison... even if just for a little bit.
