Rowland kept a very close eye on Maya as there seemed to be so much about her that he didn't know att all what to do with. He didn't in any right claim to be an expert on humans in the modern world as he had been rather removied from them but he knew enough to know that usually...usually they would have left the moment they had the chance...and then that would have involved killing and then it would have gotten messy...again.
"That must have been very lonely."
Rowlan's striking blue eyes never once left Maya as her warm hand rested against the cold flesh of his face. Her touch was something that was even more foreign to him then her presence. He found himself at a loss for words not really knowing what to say or hell what was even appropriate to say in such a situation as the one he currently foudn himself in so he simply continued to stare back at Maya in silent observation.
"Am I?"
"Very much so," Rowland explained finally breaking his eyes away from her.
"I'm going to go ahead and say thank you, and hope you meant that as a compliment."
"It was or well it is. You're just so different from what i would have expected one in Mary's blood would be like," Rowland explained.
He hadn't ever really liked Mary Warren; she had been trouble and a pest since they had all been children and once she had gained power she had been all the worse cause she could simply get her way by declaring somebody a witch. But Maya was soemthing else entirely; had he known her instead of Mary when he was human life would have ben very different indeed.
"You're not frightened when you should be...your powerful beyond what you appear...and you are exceedingly kind," Rowland explained keeping a very close proximity to Maya as he inspected her from head to toe. She almost didn't seem real.
"What brought you into the woods tonight?" Rowland asked wanting to know how exactly she ahd stumbeled into his world.

"It was or well it is. You're just so different from what i would have expected one in Mary's blood would be like,"
Well... that was very enough, Maya decided. As he had known Mary, she imagined she would have experienced first hand her utter stupidity, and her cruelty... and all those other things she had been told Mary was like. The fact that he thought she was none of those things was actually a wonderful compliment... and a great relief. Maya always worried that one day she would turn out like her ancestor and was glad to know she was in no way doing so.
"You're not frightened when you should be...your powerful beyond what you appear...and you are exceedingly kind,"
"Should I be frightened?" she asked, finally dropping her hand back to her side. Maya supposed she sound have been frightened. He had, after all, tried to kill her. And had already killed another girl before her. But she wasn't frightened... he had said he didn't want her to be, which gave her the impression that he wasn't frightening... or maybe she was just strange. "As for powerful and kind... well... I think that's just a matter of opinion."
"What brought you into the woods tonight?"
Maya shrugged. "I like the woods," she said. "They feel... magical. And it's my own personal form of rebellion. My mother forbid me to come in here, so when all the 'normal' teenagers of Salem are out underage drinking or whatever... I come here."

"Should I be frightened?"
"For all intensive purposes yes...you should be extremely frightened," Rowland answered honestly. When things came down to small print...or at times very large print he was a killer. It was what he did best and whether he could blame it on the darkness which consumed him from time to time or if he could simply blame it on hunger was of no real consequence.
"I'm a killer by nature Maya...you should always be frigthened...if only slightly," Rowland explained seriously. It could very well be something that could keep the girl alive. If she kept herself on guard around him then he should never take her by surprise...thus never taking her life. It would work out for the both of them in the long run if she were a bit frightened.
Rowland frowned slightly. He had wanted her to not be frightened but then again that wouldn't do them any good...it was all just a rapidly spinning circle when it came down to it.
"Please understand Maya. I do not wish for you to be frightened of me as if I can help it I would not cause you harm...but I cannot always help it; therefor fear is the better precaution for your life and mine," he explained simply.
"As for powerful and kind... well... I think that's just a matter of opinion."
"You caused the dead to speak that is not something which is done easily," Rowland pointed out as he motioned to the still corpse and grimaced slightly wishing he had not once again called attention to the dead girl.
"I like the woods. They feel... magical. And it's my own personal form of rebellion. My mother forbid me to come in here, so when all the 'normal' teenagers of Salem are out underage drinking or whatever... I come here."
"Your mother is right to forbid you to come here," Rowland explained as he paced slightly along the edge of the stream. His father had forbidden him long ago to come into the woods and had he listened life...or rather death would have been very different for Rowland Cantwell.
"My father forbade me to come to the woods and I decided not to heed his warning and I died in these woods," Rowland explained his ice blue eyes turning to Maya.
"Perhaps you should listen to your mother Maya Warren," Rowland whispered name almost in a growl his eyes latching upon the dead girl's corpse. There was a cave not far off from where they stood in which he could dispose of her properly.
"I apologize..." Rowland whispered his eyes lightening slightly as he took an un-needed breath. There was anger in the air and something else he could not place and it was driving his sense out of control.

"For all intensive purposes yes...you should be extremely frightened...I'm a killer by nature Maya...you should always be frigthened...if only slightly,"
Well there was that. One would logically be afraid of someone who could rip their throat out in a matter of seconds.
"Please understand Maya. I do not wish for you to be frightened of me as if I can help it I would not cause you harm...but I cannot always help it; therefor fear is the better precaution for your life and mine,"
Maya tilted her head to the side thoughtfully before giving him a soft smile. "How about, instead of being afraid, I just be cautious. Caution will keep me just as safe as fear... but it's less stressful... if only slightly."
"You caused the dead to speak that is not something which is done easily,"
Looking over in the direction of the dead girl, Maya sighed. He was right there. It wasn't something she'd ever done before... or really ever planned to do again... or had ever heard of being done. But she had done it. Maybe it was one of those adrenalin things... like when mothers lifted cars off of their babies or something.
"No..." she agreed. "But I doubt I could do it again."
"Your mother is right to forbid you to come here,"
"I know..."
"My father forbade me to come to the woods and I decided not to heed his warning and I died in these woods,"
Maya opened her mouth to say something but found she couldn't think of anything to say to that... was there really anything she could say to that?
"Perhaps you should listen to your mother Maya Warren,"
Maya's eyes narrowed slightly, hearing something darker in his voice. It almost made her step back, but she held her ground.
"I apologize..."
"No, don't be sorry," she said softly, reaching a hand out to touch his arm, then drawing it back almost immediately. "But maybe it's time for both of us to go home... you have someone with you at home, right?"

"No, don't be sorry."
The girl was very forgiving; that was both a blessing and a curse.
Rowland focused his eyes upon the ground beneath his feet rather then to continue to look at Maya. It was nothing the girl had done at all of course; she was actually proving to be extremely nice company all things considered. It was the air; something was wrong with Salem you could say and the woods felt it and their anger was ever so slowly taking it toll upon Rowland.
Rowland's eyes met Maya's as she reached out a hand to touch him and then he took a step away from her as she quickly pulled back. He had done a bit of damage he was certain and he had not a soul to blame but himself. He was not good with those who were still breathing...not at all good. But there was a bit of silver lining; not counting the second repair man Maya was the first human he had spent more then 5 minutes of time with and they still remained breathing.
He would take the small victories as they were few and far between.
"But maybe it's time for both of us to go home... you have someone with you at home, right?"
"Indeed; no doubt the hour is getting late for you," Rowland replied in agreement though it would have been nice to spend more time with Maya Warren had his temperament been a bit more agreeable.
"My maker is at home; not far from here and expecting me no doubt. She will no doubt kill me upon seeing my appearance," Rowland explained seriously before a soft smile fell upon his face.
"It was a pleasure making your acquaintance Maya Warren...I do hope to do so again soon," Rowland explained hoping he was not over stepping his bounds in stating his wishes.
"I do apologize for harming you," Rowland explained sincerely as he reached out and took Maya's hand placing a soft kiss upon it before releasing her and turning his eyes toward the dead body he would need to be rid of before retiring home.
