Alexis listened to Ryden's statement and felt sorry for him. It made her feel like he had really loved the woman, and that he took immense responsibility for what she had become.
"You can. And you most assuredly are." Alexis had never been so grateful to receive someone's help in her life. Ryden had been there for her in some of the worst times she'd seen in all her life. That was something she could never forget.
"That part of my life has long since passed Alexis. Marisolla is a past chapter; one I cannot revisit,"
"Good." Alexis murmured, her hand impulsively moving to grasp Ryden's for a moment. "She doesn't deserve you, Ryden. There are too many women out there that would be good to you-better for you. I want you to be happy."
It was true, as sappy as it sounded. Alexis was being nothing but honest in the moment. Ryden deserved something far less than an evil vampire who enjoyed cursing people. He needed someone more like-.
Yeah, that was enough of that particular thought.
"The world keeps moving forward and us with it,"
"Good, because if I had to move in a world that went backwards, I might find myself living without Prada." Alexis smiled. Oh to hell with it. She moved on yet another impulse and leaned forward kissing the other vampire on the lips.
She would have let them linger a second longer, but she heard a familiar chime from the store that she had a voicemail. Giving Ryden a quick smile, she turned.
"I'm going to grab that. I'll be right back." She headed into the store and intercepted the phone. She would need it to travel with anyhow and she'd nearly forgotten it. Pressing a few buttons, she put the phone to her ear.
Alexis? Can you hear me? It's BZZZT! I don't know if you can hear me, my sig- BZZZT! -rrible. My phone got BZZZT! I had to call fr- BZZZT! -umber so I don't know if you'll even get this. I'm up near BZZZT! I'm sor- *SIGNAL LOST*
Alexis held the phone away from her ear, looking at it as though it might explode. While the signal sucked, she could make out Jon's voice. She was sure it was him. And if it was him, what exactly did that mean?

"Good. She doesn't deserve you, Ryden. There are too many women out there that would be good to you-better for you. I want you to be happy."
"I will be happy once you are well," Ryden explained simply. It was the honest truth. He had not known Alexis London for any great period of time but the time she had been in his life was something different to the years he had spent without her there.
Ryden was old by vampire standards but Alexis'next motion ahd caught him very much by surprise. The soft sensation o her lips against hiswas a welcome and fufilling feeling; one he would admitt he had wantedto experience or some time now but had not dred to over step his bounds in regards to her honor. Ryden was pleased to be given the chance tokiss her back; which he readily took but was slightly dissapointed when it was over seemingly as quickly as it had become.
Ryden couldn't help but return he smile she offered him; he would need to ensure she smiled more often.
"I'm going to grab that. I'll be right back."
"Please do," Ryden whispered more to himself then to Alexis as she was gone.

Killian thought of Alexis' last question the entire time he spent in the bathroom; showering and getting dressed for their future vacation...if only they could be so lucky and it could actually turn out to be anything close to the idea of a vacation.
"And I still don't understand what your issue is with Salem."
He figured there was no way around Alexis finding out what exactly was Killian's problem with Salem but the least he had to talk about it the better. There was a reason why he had never gone back to Salem in over 300 years. He had had to walk away from his family and his life and everything that ever meant anything to him and that was over looking the fact that it was in Salem where he had been tortured and executed...yeah there was that bit as well.
Pulling on a clean pare of jeans and a black shirt with the bright red words zombies across the front of it Killian pulled on a pare of converse sneakers and made his way down the stairs being certain he didn't kill himself this time.
Killian was surprised to find Alexis down in the shop still.
"I was coming back down you didn't have to hover around," Killian stated with a smile.
His smile quickly faded as he took in the expression Alexis wore across her face as she stared down at her cell phone.
"Lex?" Killian asked making his way over to her.
"What is it now?" Killian asked glancing down at the phone in Alexis' hand not certain why she was looking at it like it was seconds from exploding.

Alexis continued to stare at the phone for a long moment. She had no idea what to think. The sound of the voicemail still registered in her head. Had Jon really just called her? Was it the real Jon? Or some other factor of the spell?
"I was coming back down you didn't have to hover around,"
Alexis looked up, surprised to find Killian standing beside her. She blinked, attempting to shake off the shock which was overcoming her.
"I-. No. I just. Came back for my-my phone." Alexis held up the item. She should have pressed play. But she couldn't listen to the voicemail again. She didn't even know if it was real.
"What is it now?"
"I-. Nothing. It was just a voicemail from someone I wasn't expecting to hear from. I don't even know if it was them. It's nothing. Let's get out of here."
Alexis snapped the phone closed and shoved it into her back pocket-the same one which contained the necklace. She tried to put herself back to rights, but now all she could think of was getting out of here. Turning, she headed back towards the ally where Ryden was waiting.

Still staring down at the phone Killian couldn't for the life of him place why Alexis was staring down at it as if it was a ticking time bomb. Maybe she was going crazy? Could the dead technically go nuts...
"I-. No. I just. Came back for my-my phone."
"Right... and now you're glaring at it," Killian pointed out.
"I-. Nothing. It was just a voicemail from someone I wasn't expecting to hear from. I don't even know if it was them. It's nothing. Let's get out of here."
Killian shofted his gaze to Alexis and proceeded to look at her like she had grown a second head. There was soemthing she was leaving out of her explanation and Killian was trying to figure out if it was best to press her on it or to let it go. Since she was obviously wanting not to deal with it for the time Killian...against his better judgement decided to allow her to brush it under the rug.
"Whatever you say Lex...just don't go crazy on me ok?" Killian stated as he picked up his backpack he had left behind one of Alexis' many couches and shrugged it over his shoulder.
"After you," he stated holding the door open for her and still keeping a very close eye on her.
...Awesome this trip was starting out weird and they hadn't even started the car yet.

Alexis could hear Killian's words, but all she could focus on was the voicemail. She pulled her phone back out of her pocket and pulled up her missed calls. The number was one she didn't recognize. It could have been a hoax....some other point of the spell. If Marisolla Ledeara was as powerful a witch as she had shown to be so far, then why couldn't she fake phone calls.
"Ow." Alexis quickly realized that you shouldn't walk and look at your phone while you were cursed because it as a good way to slam a knee into something-which was exactly what she did. Rubbing the injured item for a moment, she pressed the recall button.
There was a high pitched sound and then an automated voice
YOUR CALL COULD NOT BE COMPLETED AS DIALED. PLEASE TRY YOUR CALL AGAIN.
"Whatever you say Lex...just don't go crazy on me ok?"
"What?" Alexis looked up at Killian and saw he was holding the door open for her. For a moment, she felt like she'd been asleep for roughly a hundred years.
"Well, let's go." She sighed, slipping through the door. She looked in the car until she located her purse and dug out the key ring which contained not only her car keys, but also her store keys.
"Are you guys ready?" She flipped out her store key so she could lock up.

"Well, let's go. Are you guys ready?"
Ryden had just completed preparing the car of what other little items they would need when Killian and Alexis made their way back out towards the car. The sky was darkening; a clear indications that storms were on the way and that they needed to be on their way as well if they were hoping to get to Salem in a relatively timely manner.
"As long as you both are prepared I am as well," Ryden answered turning to look at Alexis. He took immediate notice of the fact that she seemed far more trouble then when she had gone into the shop to attend to her phone.
"Is everything ok Alexis?" Ryden asked his eyes alone telling him that all was not well with Alexis. Though being the fact that she was still very much cursed it was no wonder she did not look well...but that did not seem to be the problem.
"If you would like I can drive for you? Allow you a bit more time to rest yourself?" Ryden asked making his way to Alexis' side.

Killian shook his head in response to Alexis’ sopacey moment; he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to know what was going on as it was probably not good…everything was “not good” these days which was why he had agreed to this road trip down to hell.
Killian wasn’t surprised to see Ryden up and about by the car; the dude was like the friggin vampire version of Superman.
"Is everything ok Alexis?"
“She says she’s ok…” Killian explained as he passed Ryden in order to toss his duffel backpack into the backseat of the car.
“I think she’s a bad liar,” Killain added over his shoulder as he pulled out his own cell phone to check the time. It was almost 10:00 and he was wondering if Flick was upset about the note…
THE NOTE?!
“Mother Fuc…!” Killian suddenly yelled for what could seemingly be seen out of nowhere.
He had left a note for Flick…he had left a note for a BLIND girl!
Closing his eyes for a moment as he swallowed back a breath of air which sounded more like a growl to anyone who might have been listening. Awesome; the one person he had actually been able to talk about certain things and hadn’t run…who wasn't a vampire and she was going to think that he had just upped and left.
Awesome.
“If this doesn’t work in Salem…I want you to kill me…3 more times,” Killian muttered before pulling the door open and slumping into the backseat of the car.

If Alexis breathed, she would have thought the wind knocked out of her and never possible to get back. She knew she had to pull herself together, but it was all so unexpected.
"Is everything ok Alexis?
“She says she’s ok…“I think she’s a bad liar,”
Alexis chose to glare at Killian. She wasn't hiding things from him. At all. Actually, she wasn't holding things from either of them.
"I said I was fine. Relax." She muttered, turning her gaze now to Ryden. Part of her wanted to run into his arms, and to console herself through him, but that wouldn't really work-especially if that had been Jon on the phone. If it was him, what did she do? Did they have some sort of relationship? Would he explain why he'd left? Did he still care? Did it matter after everything she'd been through without him?
And then there was Ryden, who had been with her through everything, and who had been right there when she needed him. And who she certainly felt something for. She could not ignore such things, and he was vampire, as she was. And not human. So......
Alexis forced herself to snap back into the moment. She was daydreaming. And they had work to do. And Killian was having some sort of fit in the backseat...a fit she didn't understand and probably wouldn't get an answer on.
“If this doesn’t work in Salem…I want you to kill me…3 more times,”
"Yes Killian. Right away Killian. We'll see right to that Killian." She rolled her eyes at him. "Do you think you could drive?" She looked at Ryden hopefully. She'd probably space out so badly, she'd forget where she was and what she was doing.

“I think she’s a bad liar,”
Ryden frowned slightly at the boys words as his eyes searched Alexis' face a bit more. The boy was right something was wrong with her but if she did not wish tot ell them then Ryden had no place to push her into doing so.
"I said I was fine. Relax."
"If Alexis says she is fine then I am sure she is fine..." Ryden's words cut off as the boy seemed to become rather upset about something and since he also did not seem to share Ryden simply let him go. perhaps it was time they got this curse removed as it was taking it toll on both of it's victims.
“If this doesn’t work in Salem…I want you to kill me…3 more times,"
Ryden smiled sadly at the boy; his frustration was evident and rightly so all things considering and both he and Aelxis had lost so much because of Marisolla's curse it was past time that Ryden set about making life right for them once more. He had grown rather fond of having them both in his life and Alexis brought about feelings he had not felt since he had been human and that had been several life times ago.
"Do you think you could drive?"
"Of course," Ryden answered with a gentle look as he took the keys from Alexis' hand and then placed a gentle kiss upon the top of her hand.
"You do your best to relax during the journey and leave everything else to me. I promised you your life back and I will not go back upon that," Ryden explained sincerely as he made his way over to the passenger side door and held it open for Alexis.

In the last hour, Ryden had done nothing but please her. She had never met another vampire like him in all the years she'd existed. Alexis felt the intense surge to run into his arms. She wanted to kiss him again...but....
The voicemail lingered in her ears. Frantically, Alexis told herself to get it out of her head. Jon had left, and he wasn't there now. Ryden was. And Ryden had been. He'd been the one who'd promised to help with Marisolla, to take care of Gardener, and the one who'd in general taken care of her lately. Jon hadn't, and she didn't know when or if he'd return-or for that matter what had made him leave in the first place. Alexis felt a sudden surge of anger rush through her. She most certainly was not going to think any more of the man who'd left her.
"Of course,"
Alexis's eyes met Ryden's for a moment and she smiled.
"Thank you." She slipped into the car through the door Ryden held open. Turning around, she glanced at Killian.
"Are you settled?"

Killian was rather pleased to sit in teh back of the car silently cursing himself more so then Mary Harper had even managed to do. He was a dumb ass...he was still dwelling upon the fact that he had left a note for Felicity. There wasn't even anyone at her house who could be like "Oh here's a note on the counter"...nope it was just her...and the note Killian had left for a blind girl...oh and the dog who wanted to eat him.
A normal person would have had a cell phone number...an email address...short of sending a carrier pigeon Killian was screwed....AGAIN she was blind the bird would do nothing!
Allowing his forhead to rest upon the glass of the window Killian waited for the other 2 to get into the car. This trip was going to suck; he could feel it and he was no psychic.
"Are you settled?"
"As settled as a dead man gets," Killian muttered slipping on his sun glasses despite the lack of sun and glaring out the window at the world beyond it.
This was a mistake.

"Thank you."
"My pleasure Alexis," Ryden replied with a smile as she seated herself within the car adn he closed the door securely behind her.
Making his way back around to the driver's side of the vehicle Ryden casted another look up at the stromy sky above them; he could only hope it was not a sign of things to come. Ryden was a man of order he was also a man of not allowing things to get in teh way of his goals and did not abide by things or people hurting those he cared for. He had killed for less in his lfietime and should anyone attempt to cause the one he cared for any sort of grief they would find themselves the victim of a very violent end.
Ryden pulled open the door to the vehicle just as the rain began to pour from the morning sky. And as he pulled the car away from the shop Ryden knew that what waited ahead of them in Salem would go exactly as Alexis needed especially since he had promised her he would do everything in his power to help her retake her life.
He had sworn himself to protect her and her well being and he would not walk away from her; not in a million years.
