Spencer Holmes stared up at the white ceiling and blinked a few times trying to place his surroundings and why there was currently an extremely annoying and equally persistent blaring sound screaming through the room. Once his sight cleared he shifted his eyes groggily towards where the sound was coming from and slapped at his alarm clock as he realized that the numbers displayed across it matched perfectly with the announcement that it was time to get out of bed…past time actually by a whole 5 minutes but close enough.
He stumbled out of his bed with a rather large yawn and stared at himself for a moment in the mirror. His hair was currently sticking out in every which direction and his eyes had pretty much an entire set of luggage underneath them. The last week had not been kind to him one bit and if he had managed to get 4 hours worth of sleep the past 4 days it was a lot.
The whole situation was starting to weigh on him; after all he hadn’t actually ever really anticipated having to deal with the fact that there was about a million different voices in his head shouting about a million and one different things. But today wasn't lose your mind day it was Nerd Herd day and he had to get moving otherwise he was going to be late and he really didn’t need to give Tang a reason to yell at him.
He pulled himself into the bathroom and got showered and dressed and even managed to do so only falling asleep in the shower once. He was pretty sure he was knocking on deaths door but there was literally no time to stop to breath.
“Not entirely zombie like,” he said to his reflection in the mirror as he grabbed his name badge off the dresser and headed out the door.

Fifteen minutes later Spencer walked through the main doors of the Buy More. The store was pretty empty which was a blessing in its own right because he didn’t know how long his focus would last him today.
“Mr. Holmes you are aware your shift started 5 minutes ago correct?" The voice of Harry Tang splintered the relative silence which had been over the front of the Buy More.
“Yes,” Spencer replied staring directly at the Nerd Herd station and anywhere but at Tang.
“Sorry there was traffic,” he grumbled and then walked away from Tang and went over to the Nerd herd desk. He figured for the moment walking away from Tang was better then doing something which would end up getting him fired.
He leaned against the Nerd Herd counter and waited for costumers. He hoped upon hope that it was a slow day.
