Gardener didn't feel bad about what he had done to Alexis. She had been playing with fire-and she'd gotten burned. So what if he had been the one to hold her hand into the fire (literally)? And as for her little playmate, well, that was roughly the equivalent of running over a chipmunk with a Ford-to commonplace to really pay any attention to.
But Gardener didn't really want to stay firmly on Alexis's bad side. He needed her. She was a good ally to have around. But he didn't want his venture to her shop to be confused with an apology. It was more of a bargain....well, sort of.
He came bearing gifts. In his pocket was a black velvet bag containing an antique gold locket. He'd picked it up at an antique store. For the price it was being sold, Alexis had to like it. He figured he'd give her the gift, she'd begrudgingly accept it, and then they'd be back to their usual manner of hating each other yet still defending the other in the face of danger.
Reaching the shop's front door, Gardener tried the handle. Locked. Oh well. He reaching inside of his jacket pocket and withdrew a paper clip. Fitting it into the keyhole, he jimmied it a few times until the door snapped open. He pushed it the rest of the way and entered the business.
"Lex!" He called, pushing the door shut behind him. "Front and center! You've got company!"
Getting no response, he shook his head. Strolling over to the counter, he could still see the mark the knife had made when it penetrated her skin.
"Come on Lex! I know you're not that angry with me! Get out here!"

Killian had decided that the store was in better hands if it remained closed...especially considering how fast things went to hell the moment he flipped over the stupid sign. This whole curse thing was getting out of hand and Killian really hoped that Lex would be able to figure soemthing out over seas with whoever this other vampire was. Hell if he was lucky they would be able to fix it without ever having to step foot in Salem.
Lucky...right he should probably start packing.
Killian grabbed the remote from on top of the TV and was about to click it on when he heard a vocie from downstairs that made his blood run cold.
"Come on Lex! I know you're not that angry with me! Get out here!"
Killian had only heard that voice once before but it had been enough to stick with him for a very long time.
"Fantastic..." Killian muttered placing the remote carefully back down and trying to make as little noise as possible so not to draw attention to himself.
Killian ahd no idea what to do or where the hell to go. His eyes caught sight of the gun Alexis had left with him and he quickly grabbed it tucking it into the back of his jeans as his eyes darted around the upstairs. He made a beeline for Alexis's bedroom and yanked the heavy covering off of the bed and laid himself down upon the ground in the corner of the room and covered himself with the blanket.
If there was one thing Killian was a pro at it was playing dead.

Gardener heard movement. It wasn't much movement, but it was movement nonetheless. His ears perked up as he tried to follow the sound. Upstairs? That's where it must have been coming from.
Granted, it could have been something as small as a mouse. Hell, Alexis could have had a dog for that matter. She'd always been fond of the smelly beasts. Truthfully, Gardener figured himself about two seconds away from coming face to face with a pug, or maybe a French Bulldog. Oh well, he'd check it out and then come back downstairs to wait.
Gardener made his way up the stairs and into what he guessed was a living room. Wandering around, he took a quick look over Alexis's taste in furnishings and artwork. He had just decided he approved when he realized something. This whole room reaked of human. It was a smell that seemed to cling to Alexis constantly anymore. There was no dog oder, but there was certainly human.
Gardener did not approve.
"Alexis?" He turned towards a small hallway. The human scent was overpowering. It mixed plainly with the scent of Alexis's perfumes, candles and incense. There was absolutely no denying it. He didn't smell blood, it was pure living, breaking human.
One room down the hallway reaked particularly badly. Gardener pushed the door open and found what appeared to be another bedroom. Grabbing a shirt from a nearby hanger, Gardener sniffed.
Yep, that was human all right.
"Alexis!" Gardener turned now to following her scent. He followed it into the bedroom at the end of the hall and looked around. The only sign of life was a corpse covered in a blanket in the corner.
That made him relax slightly. At least Alexis was killing humans and not having them over for tea.
"Might as well see what she's been up to." Gardener crossed the room to the body. Yanking back the comforter, he gasped in sudden amazement.
Beneath the blanket was the body of the human boy he'd killed a few days back. He wasn't concerned about Alexis hanging onto the body so much as he was about the fact that the corpse's neck seemed to be fully intact.
"What the fck?" He asked, still fighting off his amazement.

Killian's entire body tensed as soon as he ehard Gardener come into the bedroom. It would have been far too much to ask for him to just accept the fact that Alexis wasn't home and go on about his merry murderous ways...no that would have been way to much to ask!Killian did his best not to move or even breath as the footsteps got closer and he literally had to stop himself from crining away as Gardener tore the cover off that he had used to "cover the dead bod." Here was hoping that vampires didn;t feed off of dead bodies which after the whole dead man's blood he was pretty sure they didn't...but then again Killian wasn't truely dead so who the hell knew.
"What the fck?"
...That was a pretty good response especially considering Killian's current state of "not dead" the other vampire wasn;t stupid or well not as stupid as Killian would have liked him to be so he knew that it would only be oh a few seconds before the pieces started to be put into place and cosidering that Killian wanted to the element of surprise on his side.
Killian's eyes snapped open and he launched himself at Gardener pushing him back forcefully and yanking the gun from his waistband and training it very carefully on to Gardener his eyes burning into the vampires as his hands trembeled ever so slightly as he grasped the gun.

Gardener stared blankly at the corpse on the floor. There was just something not right about this. Surely, Alexis could have fixed him up, but why would she have done such a thing?
The thoughts drifted off as the boy's dead body suddenly leapt up from the floor and shoved him away. His eyes fell on the gun which was now trained upon him. But that really wasn't his big thing. The major question at this stage of the game was why the hell was a person he'd killed suddenly standing in front of him?
"Am I losing my touch?" Gardener calmly folded his arms across his chest. "I thought you were good and dead when I left here."
His eyes moved around the room. The only person he saw was the boy himself. No sign of Alexis, which Gardener suspected wasn't entirely innocent in this situation.
"Where's Alexis?" He asked. "Is this her way of getting back at me for the other day?"

Killian kept the gun trained squarely on Gardener or as squarley as he could considering how hard his hands were shaking. As much as he wanted to he wasn't exactly sure he could kill the vampire or even how the hell to go about it.
"I thought you were good and dead when I left here."
"I'm pretty talented..." Killian muttered taking a few steps back as Gardeneer calmly crossed his arms over his chest.
"Alexis isn't here," Killian stated flatly as Gardener seemd to be searching for some sort of plan as to why Killian was there and Alexis's lack of arrival.
"You should go," Killian ordered sternly the gun never moving from Gardener.

Gardener chuckled slightly. The boy seemed to be trying so hard to be a man, yet Gardener could practically smell fear all over him.
"Talented? Well, in that case, you should hit up the "America's Got Talent" auditions. I'm sure Piers would hate it, but I'm sure you could sway Sharon and the Hoff."
Gardener smirked. He moved a few steps closer to the boy. In truth, the gun did make him slightly nervous. If it was just some regular bullets, that was no big deal. But if they were silver, or iron, well that was an entirely different story.
His suspicions grew when the boy said Alexis wasn't there. He disliked not knowing where Alexis was-or what she was up to-or why there was a presumably dead human running around her living quarters.
"Where is she? And why are you here?" Gardener turned around and strolled over to a small table and chair in the corner of the room. Yanking the chair out, he dropped into it and kicked his feet up on the table.
"Why? Maybe I want to wait for her." He glared at Killian. No human kid that he'd killed once before was going to intimidate him.

Killian glared at Gardener in response to his comment about "America's Got Talent" if the vampire only knew exactly what it was he could do it might give him some even footing...though his curse wasn't exactly something to brag about any how since it came with no other sort of strings attached.
"Where is she? And why are you here?"
"She's not here," Killian snapped once again not having any desire to tell the vampire where Alexis was or what she was doing. Hell Killian was just praying that his luck held out long enough before something went epically wrong.
"I live here," Killian explained with a satisfied smirk knowing that that bit of information was sure to get the vampires temper...not that doing so was a good idea but just the same.
"Why? Maybe I want to wait for her."
"She doesn't want to see you. I believe the phrase was ever...again. And you're not welcomed here so leave before..." Killian's eyes narrowed as he readjusted his hold upon the gun.
"Leave before I kill you."

"You live here?" Gardener raised an eyebrow. Something was beyond odd with this situation, and he was beginning to wonder if he shouldn't be giving this boy more credit.
"And how'd you land this place? Kill Alexis to get it?"
Gardener got to his feet and strolled over to the boy. He paced around him in a slow, lazy circle. The kid surely didn't look like a hunter. But Gardener guessed there was no set code for appearance when it came to hunters.
"You're going to kill me?" Gardener laughed as he stopped pacing to stand face to face with the boy. "You're going to do this after I ripped your throat out not a month ago?"
He folded his arms across his chest and set his glare on the boy.
"I'll leave before you "kill me". Is that the choice you gave Alexis? What happened? She wouldn't play along with it? You had to off her too? All to get her place? Sick. And you humans say vampires are the monsters. Never actually killed someone to get a place to live."
Gardener strolled away from Killian and walked over to one of the walls. He raised his arm and put his first through it with no effort.
"Personally, I would have gone after someone else with a bigger place. But hey, to each his own. Want a few more walls out? Or some of this chick crap out of here?"
Gardener lifted a painting of a castle off of the wall nearest him and tossed it across the floor, watching as the frame shattered around it. Once that was done, he strolled to a shelf and tossed a few of those fancy painted eggs and some elaborate looking pieces of crystal towards the boy. They gave a satisfying smash as they hit the ground.
"If Lex isn't here, I'm sure she won't mind."

"I didn't kill Alexis!" Killian snapped his eyes narrowing in nager as the vampire paced the room methodically he really really really hated this guy.
"I'm not like you...with friends like you she doesn't need enemies," Killian added on.
"You're going to kill me?...You're going to do this after I ripped your throat out not a month ago?"
Gardener had a point as much as Killian was the one holding the gun he was the one who had manage to kill him once before. Killian flinched slightly as Gardener drove his hand through the wall...Alexis was gonna have a fit when she got back.
With each thing that Gardener smashed against the ground Killian could almsot hear Alexis growl...this was not gonna end well when she got back.
"If Lex isn't here, I'm sure she won't mind."
"I told you to get out!" Killian stated once more readjusting his aim on the vampire though the shaking in his hands made it much less intimidating. Just the same Killian snapped the safety off of the gun and aimed it at Gradener again.
"I won't tell you again...get out or I will kill you and you won't come back."

"Whatever, kid." Gardener shoved a vase which looked expensive off of a table beneath the window and strolled towards the closet. Knowing Alexis, if she was alive and nearby, her fashion items would be her Achilles heel.
"I heard you, and I'm going. This is just on my way to the door." Gardener picked up a pair of heels and held them out to Killian.
"You weren't going to wear these, were you?" He snapped the heel off of the right shoe and tossed them to the back of the closet. "How about these?"
Gardener waved a pair of gold sandals in front of the kid. He pulled the strap off and tossed them idly towards Killian.
"How about this?" Gardener grabbed a brown leather handbag with a small triangle marked "Prada" from a nearby rack. "Lex won't miss this-if she's still with us, that is." With one yank, Gardener pulled both handles away and threw it onto the floor. He repeated the same process with a plaid bag marked "Burberry."
"Now what were you saying?" Gardener picked up crystal globe from the bedside table. "Did you say something about leaving here?" He tossed the ball into the air. "Where was the door again? Or should I just take the window?"
Gardener threw the ball passed Killian and watched it shattered the bedroom window. He smiled at the sound of the item striking the sidewalk below.
"You going to make me? Or are you going to stand there and wave your toy? I'm not much into playing cowboys and indians."

Killian's eyes went wide as Gardener set about snapping the heels off of Alexis's shoes...excellent now she was going to kill Killian out of default once she saw what the hell had happened to her shoes and purses...and God only knew what else.
Killian figured if maybe Gardener's body was srewn amongst everything else it would make up for the broken stuff...possibly....or not.
Killian flinched back as Gardener threw the glass ball towards him and it hsattered the window behind him with a defeaning crash sending glass scattering everywhere. The sound had nearly made Killian jump out of his skin. Somewhere above the crash of glass and Gardener's words Killian processed the sound of gun fire.
Staring down at the gun in his hands Killian's eyes widened as he noted the smoking barrell. His eyes traveled from the gun towards the vampire's leg where the gun had been pointed. The world around Killian seemed to freeze as he stared back at the vampire not sure if he had hit him or not or what the hell had just happened...either way he could pretty much guess it wasn't going to be good.

Gardener was enjoying himself. Trashing Alexis's things was highly enjoyable-and the look on the kid's face was adding everything to it. If, by some chance, Alexis was alive and well then Killian was going to get the fall for all of this mess.
"Oh come on!" Gardener was about to head off on a rant about how the kid should defend himself when something he was not expecting happened-Killian did defend himself.
Gardener's face dropped its expression of amusement and took on one of shock. He looked down at his leg-which was smoking. Tearing back his pant leg, he saw a now blackened mark on his thigh.
"Silver." He hissed as the burning began to move up his leg. The silver was moving through his bloodstream. It wouldn't kill him, but it would knock him out before much longer.
"Nice shot kid, how'd you manage that?" He growled. As soon as he got himself put back together, that kid was going to be missing a head.

Killian's own face all but mirrored the look of shock that crossed Gardener's face. He had shot him...the smoke that traveled from the vampires leg was clear enough evidence of that...he had actually shot him.
"Holy shit..." Killian muttered in disbelief as he stared wide eyed at the injured vampires leg.
It had been years since Killian had fired a gun...years and years and years and even then it had been in war and he really hadn't enjoyed it all that much back then either...more then likely half the reason why he had gotten shot and killed in the war all those years ago.
"Nice shot kid, how'd you manage that?"
"Oh shit...oh shit...oh shit..." Killian muttered to himself over and over again. He had actually shot him and if the vampire didn't lose unconciousness soon Killian was pretty sure he wouldn't be breathing for much longer.
Taking aim with the gun again Killian squeezed his eyes shut and pulled the trigger once more the gun trained on the vampires other leg.

Gardener extended his fangs. Shifting his weight onto his unhurt leg, he prepared to lung at Killian Reynolds.
Another gunshot rattled the room. Gardener didn't realize that another bullet had torn through his flesh until he found himself flat on the floor. Smoke was rising from his opposite leg and the silver burn was moving up his skin.
"You bastard." Gardener snarled, fangs still extended. His hands still clawed forward, in an attempt to reach for the boy who was still a little too far away for the actual reach.
"You've got a death wish kid. You think you're not pissing me off more? What are you going to do now? You going to finish the job? Or do you have plans of dumping me with Lex's body? Two vampires for the price of one? Is that the game? What kind of freak hunter are you?"
