The demon was working a blood spell and Daniel had to stop her. It was really a very simple concept but for some reason his legs didn't want to listen. When he had finally regained control of his body he took several quick steps towards the demon, moments before she slammed her hand into the center of the symbol.
A blinding flash of blue light over took him and threw him from the room. The last thought that went through his mind was 'I am in so much trouble,' before he was swallowed by oblivion.

Harper but back a cry of pain as Liana's hand pushed down on the stab wound in his back backing his sight literally go white with pain for several seconds. Pain was literally scorching up his back and burning through his nerves it felt like and the blood which was soaking into his shirt and jeans was doing nothing for his moral as far as living went.
As Liana continued to focus on whatever it was she was doing Harper managed to pull himself from her hold and to crash back on to the floor of hte motel. Pushing himself weakly backwards as the angel took a few steps towards Liana. Harper only stopped when his back connected with the wall behind eliciting a hiss of pain for him.
In the very next moment the angel was gone in a flash of white light.
Leaning his head against the wall Harper's breath labored from him in small gasps as he attempted to swallow down the urge he had to heave his guts up; the immense pain not agreeing too well with his general existence.

Liana's arm felt heavy when she finally dropped it from the wall after the angel had been forced from the room. It had taken a lot of energy to work that particular spell. Truthfully she hadn't been sure another's blood would have worked but she was pleased it did, because a whole mess of badness would have ensued if it hadn't.
A bottle with the same black liquid she had used to heal Harper's last wounds appeared in her hand and she knelt down by Harper. She pushed him over slightly so she could see his back, lifted up his shirt and applied the liquid. She stood up, ripped up the bed sheets and tied a bit of it around Harper's back so the wound could heal undisturbed. Then she gripped his chin tightly and looked him in the eye.
"I'm going to ask you again," she said, her voice barely above a growl. "How the hell did he find you?"

Harper's eyes had slipped shut as he focused on drawing air into his lungs even though his body shook with each lungful. The simple act of breathing sent pain ripping through him with every movement and Harper was beginning to think it might have been easier for the angel to have just killed him then leave him go like this.
Harper bit back a groan as Liana pushed him over slightly and peeled the shirt away from the wound on his back. The blood had soaked the material to his skin and Harper had to bite down on the inside of his mouth in order to silence himself as he felt Liana applying what he could only guess was the same stuff she had given him last time he had been bleeding to death. Hell if he kept this up he was sure to run out of blood soon enough.
"I'm going to ask you again. How the hell did he find you?"
Harper forced himself to look gazes with Liana as she held his chin in her hands; he was rather certain she was not going to be pleased with his answer.
"I left the other bag...the other hex bag back at the motel...didn't want you to have to trouble yourself...which was an epic fail..." Harper replied each word a struggle as he clenched his teeth against the pain in his back.
“Sorry…” Harper whispered his voice a mixture of pain and panic as his stomach clenched and the world twisted around him as he weakly pushed away from Liana; his hands shakily bracing against the floor he didn’t have much time to think about it as a thick copper taste filled the back of his throat he proceeded to heave up what felt like everything he had eaten in the last day. His entire body was shaking like a leaf as sweat soaked through his shirt and his body was wracked with dry heaves once there was nothing else to actually throw up.

"I left the other bag...the other hex bag back at the motel...didn't want you to have to trouble yourself...which was an epic fail..."
Liana stared hard at him, her eyes blazing in anger. She had to let go of Harper's chin suddenly as she realised her grip was tightening and she was very nearly about to crush his face.
"You left it behind," she said slowly, as Harper pushed himself away from her. She stood up and took a few steps away from him. "Because you didn't want me to have to trouble myself?"
She clenched her fist tightly and turned away from him, releasing a very loud, frustrated growl that drowned out Harper's apology. "You are a fucking moron," she spat. "First of all, wouldn't it have made more sense for you to leave the summoning bag behind and stay hidden? Instead of dragging me who knows where to save your ass? And secondly - " she stopped herself at a retching sound from behind her and she turned back to find Harper vomiting all over the motel room floor.
He looked so pathetic, especially once he'd reached the dry retching stage, that her anger lifted slightly. But only slightly, enough to stop her from killing and/or beating him. She knelt down beside him and put her hand on his back comfortingly, well away from his wound so she didn't aggravate it further. She rubbed at his back until the retching stopped then tilted his face so he could see her.
"I really hate you, you know," she said with a faint smile before putting his arm around her neck and lifting him to his feet. "Time to go," she said. "That angel won't stay gone."

Harper flinched slightly as he felt Liana's hand upon him. He had heard her ranting as he all but heaved his guts up but he hadn;t made much of it save for the fact that she was most likely going to kill him which at his current point might have been a blessing.
After several moments of dry heaving Harper fell silent his hands which braced himself against the floor shaking with the effort and threatening to give out even under Liana's motion of rubbing her hadn against his back a motion which gave Harper the slightest clue that she wasn't going to kill him...not yet at least.
"I really hate you, you know."
"I seem to have that effect on people..." Harper muttered in reply his vocie strained as he looked up at Liana.
Harper gritted his teeth as Liana hauled him back up to his feet; the movement sendinf the world around him spinning as he attempted to stay upright instead of crashing to the floor and taking her with him.
"Where did he go?" Harper asked realizing for the first time that Liana had sent the angel somewhere obviously.
"Don't have a car..." Harper muttered leaning heavily against Liana as he realized as time went on his plan was falling apart in epic fashion.

Liana held still, aware that the movement of standing would not have been particularly pleasant to Harper. She waited for a while until she felt enough time had passed for Harper's world to have stopped spinning and then slowly moved him towards the door.
"Where did he go?"
"Elsewhere," Liana said simply. In truth she didn't know, and she didn't rightly care, all she knew was that he was gone and he'd be back sooner or later so they needed to move now.
"Don't worry," she said when Harper pointed out that they didn't have car. She readjusted her grip on him as he leaned more heavily against her. "I'll just find one."
Slowly but surely, Liana managed to get Harper outside, her eyes darting around quickly in search of a car. Apparently the motel they were at wasn't popular as there were no cars in the the parking lot. She was beginning to panic. If she couldn't get a car they were screwed, she couldn't carry Harper all the way to safety, they'd be found. The sound of a motor caught her attention and her eyes were drawn to the direction it came from. A small car was driving down the road past the motel. Someone was still in it but Liana decided she needed the car more. Focusing her energy she took control of the car, and forced it to drive into the parking lot until it was in front of her. She left Harper leaning against the wall, went over to the car, pulled the driver out and smacked him over the head, knocking him out cold. She then helped Harper into the car, slid into the driver's seat and sped away from the motel as fast as she could, trying to think of a new place to take Harper.

Harper didn;t have to be a mind reader to know that Liana was planning on stealing a car in order to make up for their current lack of vehicle. Harper was far too out of it to complain; the pain in his back had lessened slightly but he had still lost a good deal of blood and he felt as if the world was slipping through his fingers with each passing moment.
Harper slummped back against the wall where Liana had put him without so much of a word in protest; he had no room to protest now anyhow as this had all been caused by his own lack of ability to defend himself. As the hours and days drew on he had begun to think he would have been better off in the state asylum.
His eyes had slipped shut when Liana pulled him away from the wall and into their "new" car. Harper attempted to keep the pressure off of his back which was all but impossible but soon enough he managed to sit curled against the door of the car his head resting against the window and his eyes at half mass as he attempted to stay concious though he felt as if that was a losing battle.
"We're in Wyoming..." Harper explained his vocie a little above a whisper as he figured Liana needed to know where the hell he had drug her to.

"We're in Wyoming..."
Why the hell were they in Wyoming? She shook her head and focused on trying to figure out what to do next. Clearly, leaving Harper on his own was not going to work. He was obviously incapable of keeping himself out of trouble.
So then what? She'd somehow managed to invest herself in his survival but she still couldn't see how that was going to work. Would she end up following him wherever he went to make sure angel and demons didn't get a hold of him? Somehow she didn't see that working very well.
She glanced at Harper and decided her was going to have to solve her dilemma. "Okay, Harper, here's a question for you. What do you want to happen next?"

"Okay, Harper, here's a question for you. What do you want to happen next?"
Harper grew silent for several moments as he let the question fill the space of the car. In truth he had no idea what it was he wanted or how to go about getting it. No that was a lie; he knew what he wanted and he also knew he couldn't have it.
"I want..." but his words traled off as he knew it would be pointless to tell her what he truley wanted so he would go the more practical route and tell her what he had planned on doing before the angel had come after him.
"I had planned to get out east...as far away from Washington as I could get and then...I dunno I really didn't have much after that," Harper explained his plan sounding as useless out loud as it had in his head.
The pain in his back had lessened a great deal but he could still feel the sensation of the blood stickign against him and it made him shiver slightly; he had lost far too much blood in the last 48 hours but that was only 1 small problem in a vat of some many others.

"East," Liana repeated, trying not to roll her eyes. Well that was specific. "Okay, it's a start."
They drove in silence for a while, Liana turning every now and then until finally they were on an east bound highway. The problem was, they were going to run out of east eventually. Although she supposed they could cross that bridge when they came to it.
"Okay," she said finally. "When we get as far east as you feel is necessary, we're going to have three options. Option 1, I kill you, nice and quick before anyone else decides you need to be killed and/or tortured. Option 2, I go on my merry, leaving you to deal with whatever. Maybe I'll leave you a couple more hex bags if you promise to be more responsible with them. And option 3..." she hesitated, taking a deep breath. "Option 3, I can stay with you. But that option opens up a whole mess of questions that I don't have answers to."
She stole a glance at Harper before snapping her eyes back to the road. "Well?"

Harper let his eyes slip shut as they drove in silence for awhile; it gave his beaten down body a chance to recover and attempt to get his strength back as the potion of whatever it was that Liana had put on the stab wound the chance to work. Harper jerked awake though as Liana's vocie filtered through the silence of the car.
"When we get as far east as you feel is necessary, we're going to have three options. Option 1, I kill you, nice and quick before anyone else decides you need to be killed and/or tortured. And option 3...option 3, I can stay with you. But that option opens up a whole mess of questions that I don't have answers to."
Harper sat in silence for several seconds after Liana had brought all of the "options" to the table. He didn't want to sepnd the rest of his life running and hiding from supernatural and non supernatural forces but just the same what other option did he have?
Option 1, I kill you...
He wasn't sure if that could be considered suicide or not but just the same he was pretty sure he might be going to hell anyways...though you really couldn't tell these days one way or another. Harper sat in silence for a few moments more as he ventured to sit flat against the chair so he could look over at Liana before forcing his eye sto stare out the windshield.
"Option 1..." Harper responded his eyes not lookign at Liana just focusing on the road stretched out ahead of them.

"Option 1..."
Liana fought the urge to slam her foot down on the breaks and simply widened her eyes in surprise. That hadn't been the answer she was expecting. Not even close. Of course it was the simplest answer. For the both of them. But still, it wasn't everyday someone requested death... when they weren't already screaming in pain.
She glanced at him, staring out at the road ahead. Now was her chance to get rid of Harper, permanently, guilt free. It was perfect, it was simple. It was completely messing with her head. Whatever strange attachment she seemed to have developed for Harper, she didn't know if it would let her kill him. And with that one thought she developed enough self hatred to fill a Hawthorne Heights album.
She growled inwardly at her self. How the fuck did this happen? One minute she's her normal self, torturing, enjoying causing pain. And the next she's risking her life for the sake of one really irritating human. The world really was coming to an end...
But fine, if he wanted to die, that was fine by her. But she sure as hell wasn't driving all the way to the fucking east coast to do it. She pulled the car over to the side of the road. There were no other cars behind them, or even heading in the opposite direction. And no hitchhikers. No witnesses. The body count would probably stay at one.
When she had parked the car she half stepped out the door before looking over her shoulder at Harper. "Out of the car," she ordered.

Harper was rather surprised as the car jerked to a stop along the side of the road; he figured he would have had a few more hours alive but it seemed as if there was no time like the present and amybe that was best for the both of them because he was pretty sure if he continued to give it more thought he was likely to back out of it.
"Out of the car."
Harper didn't question or comment just simply pulled himself out of the car the wound on his back now completely healed only leaving the faintest whispers of pain in its wake.
He wasn't exactly sure what she needed him to do or not to do so Harper merely stood by the front of the car and waited...that was the only thing he had left to do and in retrospect it would be better this way. His mother and brother were already dead and his father would no doubt be put in grave danger if he went anywhere near him so it was better this way; better if he was dead and gone for everyone really including angels and demons alike.
"Thank you...for all your help...and I'm sorry if I put you in any danger," Harper whispered his eyes locking with Liana's for the first time since he had made his choice.

Liana watched Harper as he got out of the car, wincing slightly from remains of his wound. Her finger lightly traced the handle of the knife at the back of her jeans. Why was this so hard? Sure, she was slightly frustrated. After all that effort to keep him alive, including fighting an angel, she was going to kill him. It had been a waste of her time, and his. If he'd wanted to die why did he summon her in the first place? Why not just let the angel take care of him? She sighed angrily. It really pissed her off.
But that wasn't why it was hard. Not even close.
"Thank you...for all your help...and I'm sorry if I put you in any danger."
His voice was quiet, almost hoarse, and his eyes met hers. The muscles in her throat tightened suddenly and she clenched her jaw. Pain shot through her chest and she broke eye contact, her eyes searching for hidden dirt on her shoes. Harper stepped forwards and lifted her chin, his fingers barely brushing her skin. Whether he could see how stupidly hard this was for her and how much she hated herself right now, she couldn't tell. He seemed older this close, the faintest lines around his eyes giving them a softer, slightly jaded look. Their eyes met, brown to brown, though his were a warmer shade, speckled with gold.
She placed a hand on the base of his neck, her fingers finding the soft spot at the base of his skull, and kissed him lightly before pulling him into a hug. It seemed like the thing to do, give a dying man one last kiss from a pretty girl... at least that's what she told herself.
"I never really hated you." Her whisper mirrored his and she sighed. It wasn't what she had wanted to say, but she didn't have the words for what she did want to say. So it would have to do. She felt his arms wrap nervously around her waist and wondered what he was thinking. If he was scared or confused. She sure as hell was confused.
"Goodbye, Harper."
His muscles tightened, but only for a split second before Liana had whipped out the knife from her waistband and shoved it smoothly into the soft spot marked by her fingers. His hands slipped to his sides and his full bodyweight leaned against her, but she didn't let him go. A single burning tear rolled down her cheek and she swallowed hard, finally finding the right words.
"I love you."
