Gabriel's eyes darkened as the the other man aimed his weapon at him. That would be something he would be sure he didn't forget when certain "life or death" situations arose. It wasn't as if a bullet could kill him...what with him being already dead and all but it would do wonders to destroy his plans.
"What was your family doing out here?"
That was the question of the hour now wasn't it? But then again his answer wouldn't really be a lie...not completely. He knew that it was in these opening moments he had to be very careful about what he gave away and what he didn't; though he would be willing to bet anything Jamie did not expect for the new "stranger" he had run across was his dead son...not without going out of his mind first...
That was for later...much later.
"My parents are...were...hu..." Gabe's words cut off as he searched each man's eyes for a bit of dramatic effect and then breathed in deeply as if the explanation was taking a great toll on him.
"If I told you; you wouldn't believe me," he finished his eyes down casted and searching the forest floor beneath him for several moments as if lost in some vast amount of old memories or feelings.
Gabe pulled away by instinctivly as Jamie grasped his arms; it was pain but he would admitt the touch of his father had taken him by surprise.
He couldn't afford to be taken by surprise.
"What's your name?"
There was the question that Gabe ahd been waiting for especially after the run in he had had with his father the night before he was sure the name of the "stranger" would bring about all sorts of unwanted emotions.
"Gabriel...but my mom and dad always just called me Gabe."

Leon watched carefully as Jamie checked Gabe's wounds. He trusted the boy even less after the cut off explanation about the parents. "Hu" didn't set off any immediate alarms in the agent's head, it could be the beginning of several words. The part about what ever they did being unbelievable was what Leon had a problem with.
"Try me, It can't be too much weirder than anything else I've heard." Leon deadpanned.
It was slightly nerve-wracking to see Jamie get so close to the boy. This was usually the part where the distressed civilian started transforming into mindless killing machines. If Gabe got violent, the other man wouldn't be able to get away from him very quickly.
"We're you bitten?"

Jamie stopped what he was doing and looked at the boy when he announced what his parents were doing would be unbelievable. He was about to answer when Leon took the words right out of his mouth.
"Try me, It can't be too much weirder than anything else I've heard."
He returned his attention to the boy's arm and started pinning the bandages down. So far they were doing their job well. None of the blood had soaked through yet. Of course it may have been that the wound wasn't as bad as it looked. Either way, it was a good sign.
"Gabriel...but my mom and dad always just called me Gabe."
Jamie froze at the boy's words and stared at him for a moment before getting to his feet and stepping back quickly. Almost falling backwards as he tripped over a branch. His name was Gabe... and he had those eyes... and the ghost this morning in his room....
No, this was ridiculous. It was a coincidence. It had to be, because this boy was a solid, living, breathing human being. A living, breathing human being who needed his help. He sighed loudly and ran a hand through his hair. This goddamn island was getting to him. That was it.
"Sorry," he muttered, avoiding the boy's gaze.
"Were you bitten?"
Jamie's head snapped up to look at Leon. Finally, something more crazy than ghosts from the past. "Bitten by what, exactly?" he asked.

"Try me, It can't be too much weirder than anything else I've heard."
Gabe glared at leon slightly before turning away to mask the look as he stared down at the bandages which covered his arms.
"My parents were hunters...para psychologists who hunted out the paranormal...they came here to conduct...the coduct an investigation and they...now they're dead..." Gabe explained his voice laced with emotion.
He was rather good at this game; had he been alive he figured he could very well be up for an Oscar.
It took all of Gabe's strength to swallow down his smirk as Jamie tore himself away from him once Gabe shared his name. He could almost hear the wheels in Jamie's mind turning at a million miles an hour...with the proper hits Jamie would be easy to crack wide open.
"We were attacked...my parents were...they were torn apart...I...the spirits tore them to pieces...they didn;t bite nayone...they murdered them!" Gabe explained allowing the emotion in his vocie climb to panic as his eyes flickered from Leon and abck to his ftaher where he allowed them to rest his face full of panic and hopelessness a look Gabe was sure would get to Jamie.

"Bitten by what, exactly?"
"Wild animals, crazy locals." Leon said in response to Jamie's question. "Who knows what kind of infections are plaguing a place like this." It was a general answer, but he didn't feel like explaining zombies at the moment.
"My parents were hunters...para psychologists who hunted out the paranormal...they came here to conduct...the coduct an investigation and they...now they're dead..."
Well, that might be a little weirder than he had been expecting. Maybe a lot.
"The paranormal, what kind of paranormal?" Leon's voice was even, not giving the slightest hint of his skepticism. There was surely a scientific explanation hidden somewhere behind the veil of superstition. The activity the so called hunters came to investigate was surely some new experiment by some wack job bio-terrorists.

"Wild animals, crazy locals... Who knows what kind of infections are plaguing a place like this."
"Alrighty then," Jamie said skeptically. The answer was completely not crazy, it actually made sense, but Kennedy didn't really strike him as the kind to worry about rabies.
"My parents were hunters...para psychologists who hunted out the paranormal...they came here to conduct...the coduct an investigation and they...now they're dead..."
Well that was... interesting. Though truthfully Jamie hadn't really expected to be the only hunter interested in the island. With the amount of activity in this place it only made sense that a few would show up. It did, however, piss him off that his parents would take him along to such a dangerous place. And now they were dead, and this kid... Gabe... was alone surrounded my angry spirits.
"We were attacked...my parents were...they were torn apart...I...the spirits tore them to pieces...they didn;t bite nayone...they murdered them!"
The look on Gabe's face nearly killed him. The kid was so hopeless, so afraid... Jamie felt like he needed to do something. Flick called it his 'hero complex', this incessant need to help people and make everything right. It was what made him agree to be her gaurdian despite the complete lack of sense involved in him being asked. And it was what now made him decide that he would find a way to help this boy, even if it killed him.
"The paranormal, what kind of paranormal?"
"Spirits," Jamie said, dragging his eyes away from Gabe. "Demons... things that go bump in the night... pissed off dead guys... His parents were here for the same reason I am. This island is screaming with paranormal activity..." he glanced at Gabe before turning his gaze back to Leon. "Really, violent paranormal activity."

Gabe casted a glance at the man who had joined his father on the island. Gabe wasn't postive but he was almost certain the man was out of his mind...or at least on his way there.
"Wild animals, crazy locals... Who knows what kind of infections are plaguing a place like this."
Yeah; Gabe was not entirely worried about things bitting him there were more important things on the horizoin.
Gabe could feel the anguish rolling off of Jamie and it was rather delightful sort fo like the drugs he had witnessed his mother take in order to numb herself or make her in a better state of mind. Yes he could very well get used to the mental torture Jamie was going through.
"Spirits, Demons... things that go bump in the night... pissed off dead guys... His parents were here for the same reason I am. This island is screaming with paranormal activity...Really, violent paranormal activity."
Gabe couldn't help the ghost of smirk that crossed his face as Jamie mentioned "pissed off dead guys."
Jamie Jamie Jamie...you have no idea... Gabe thought to himself as he witnessed Jamie's heroe complex begin to fall into place. ironic really the man always wanted to protect people...but he had left his mother....left him and now he would pay. The world had a funny way of coming full circle.
"We shouldn't stay here...we should go inside," Gabe spoke up his vocie holding just the amount of "fear" in it as the winds picked up around them and Gabe's own crystal blue eyes darkened for the faintest of seconds before returning to their normal shade.

"Spirits, Demons... things that go bump in the night... pissed off dead guys... His parents were here for the same reason I am. This island is screaming with paranormal activity...Really, violent paranormal activity."
Leon scowled slightly at the increasing level of supernatural talk. He had somehow stumbled across not one, but two people who were clearly slightly off kilter. Ghosts and ghouls were at best harmless superstitions, and at worst a convenient cover for a local wack-job scientist. This kids parents were probably now the most recent victims of a bio-hazard outbreak. The agent suddenly wished he had brought more explosives.
"We shouldn't stay here...we should go inside," the boy said as the wind picked up dramatically.
"Why does that always happen?" He asked somewhat rhetorically.
Leon moved his gun away from Gabe and scanned the woods around them, fully expecting something terrible to break out of the brush with killing intent. So far there was no sign of anything, but he kept his guard up none-the-less. You could never be too paranoid when visiting creepy-ass vacation destinations. Not if you expect to live anyway.

"We shouldn't stay here...we should go inside,"
Jamie hesitated. The only 'inside' there was was the old asylum, and while Jamie was here to investigate it, and did plan on going in sooner or later, he didn't really want to go in with an injured teenager.
But as the wind began to pick up, Jamie suspected it didn't matter whether they were inside or out. No where was safe.
He did a double take, thinking for a moment he saw Gabe's eyes change colour. He shook his head. Stupid island.
"Why does that always happen?"
Kennedy had a point, though Jamie decided not to answer his question as he figured it was rhetorical. But why did that always happen in creepy places?
"Alright," he said, holding his hand out for Gabe to take so he could help him to his feet. "Inside... buy you" he looked pointedly at the boy, "stay close. We don't know how dangerous it is in there."

Gabe was pleased to notice that Leon had moved his gun from off of him. If the man was focused on searching out these other monsters he wouldn't notice the one that was so very close to them. Of course there were other powers to be dealt with on the island...a lot more hten just him. Hell compared to some Gabe was nothing more then a pissed off poltergist but no matter what he was classified as here he had the power to be as effective as he needed to be.
"Alright..."
Gabe's attention snapped back to Jaime and he stared at his out stretched hand for several moments debating if he wanted to take it or not. To not take it would look suspicious but to take it would be something else entirely.
"Inside... but you stay close. We don't know how dangerous it is in there."
Gabe stared up at the man who had left his mother and him so long ago before taking his hand. A loud crack of lightning snaked threw the air accompanied by a clap of thunder which seemed to shatter off the trees.
"Yes sir," Gabe replied his vocie even as his eyes never left those of his father's.

Leon couldn't help but feel ominous about the new addition to the traveling party, it was as if nature herself was trying to send them a warning. He ignored the feeling, as it seemed too cliche and over dramatic. Still, he would keep an eye on the boy. Paranoid? Maybe, but at least the agent would have a chance to shoot the kid before he started biting.
"Another creepy abandoned fun house, great." Leon deadpanned as he started towards the asylum, keeping his gun trained in the area around them. Jamie was armed, so they had a good chance of taking down any ugly that wandered across their path.
Any place where the mental infirm was automatically more unsettling that it would have been otherwise. Not more dangerous, however, considering that it was devoid of patients. Why couldn't bio-terrorists ever set up shot someplace with a nice beach and lots of sunshine? Maybe some palm trees?

"Yes sir,"
As Gabe held his gaze, Jamie had a great deal of trouble getting the image of the ghost from this morning out of his head. Granted he had only caught the spirit's eyes, but those eyes and the eyes in front of him were freakishly similar.
"Another creepy abandoned fun house, great."
Jamie snapped back to the present and began following Kennedy towards the asylum. At least one of them knew where they were going. He still had no idea how he had managed to get so lost and so quickly. Honestly, the longer he was on the island, the more he felt he should have just stayed home.
