Liana watched Harper head into the bathroom and sat down at the desk, resting her head against her hand. Yeah, it was definitely time to go. The last demon to have a soft spot for a human ended up dead. And she was enjoying life so... yes, time to leave.
She wasn't sure how long showers usually took, she'd been human before showers had been invented, but she was pretty certain that Harper had been in the shower a lot longer than normal. Either that or humans liked to be really clean. After what seemed like forever, Harper finally emerged from the bathroom, looking much healthier than he had before hand, and started pulling on the shoes.
She waved away his thanks. "Don't mention it," she said. "Seriously, don't."
"You're leaving?"
Liana looked at him. "How did you - ?" she stopped and smirked. "I don't suggest looking inside demons' heads, sweetheart, you won't like what you find there."
She sighed. "But yes, I am leaving. This whole adventure has gotten way out of hand. And with that," she pointed to the small bag she'd tossed to him, "you won't really need me. It'll keep you under the radar, both the heavenly and the hellish. Just don't lose it and you'll be good for a while until everybody forgets about you, or it's too late for your talents to be of any use to anyone."
"And this one," she said, holding up the second hex bag. "Is for emergencies only."

"I don't suggest looking inside demons' heads, sweetheart, you won't like what you find there." Harper looked at Liana for a moment trying to think of how to explain to her how exactly it worked and it wasn't as easy as flipping on and off a light switch. He had tried to several times before with others and just like then he always came up short for a proper explanation.
"Angels...demons...trust me I never seem to like what it is I find there but just the same it isn't something I can stop," Harper explained with a shrug as he finished pulling the shoes on.
"But yes I am leaving...you won't really need me. It'll keep you under the radar, both the heavenly and the hellish. Just don't lose it and you'll be good for a while until everybody forgets about you, or it's too late for your talents to be of any use to anyone."
Harper wanted to protest but then again every fiber of his body told him to shut the hell up.
"What does the emergency one do?" Harper asked as if he was simply ignoring the whole start of her statement about leaving there was so many things that continued to run through his head he could hardly keep ahold of them.
"You can't leave!" Harper snapped taking several steps towards Liana his eyes never moving from hers.
"What am I supposed to do?! I can't go home...can't go back to Washington because I am no longer in my state appointed looney bin cell and there is a dead gurad where I am meant to be!" Harper snapped his eyes flashing with the faintest hint of anger.

"Summoning made easy," she said when Harper asked what the emergency hex bag was for. "If you need me, and I mean your-life-is-in-serious-peril need me, not you're-bored-and-need-a-chat need me, then you burn it and poof, I appear... only with less poof -"
"You can't leave!" Liana stopped speaking and stared at him for a moment. Unsure of what to say. "What am I supposed to do?! I can't go home...can't go back to Washington because I am no longer in my state appointed looney bin cell and there is a dead guard where I am meant to be!"
Normally, she would have found his anger to be amusing, there wasn't a whole lot he could do to act on that anger, but mostly she found it troubling... and she found it even more troubling that she was troubled. "Harper..." she rubbed at her face while she tried to think. "Look, you went and made me let you live so you're going to have to live. And you can't live trailing around after a demon. You will get yourself killed... if you don't get me killed first..."
She let out a frustrated growl. She felt responsible for Harper and she didn't like feeling responsible for people. Which was why she wanted to leave in the first place, before this attachment went any further. "You've got this room for another week, you can have Liana's credit cards, the car... well you'll have to change that one because it's bound to have been reported stolen... salt and iron are what you use if you get found by a demon and can't summon me... this is the best I've got, Harper."

Harper stared back at her for several moments as she explained it all as if it was a cake mixture and not the start and end of hi slife for all intensive purproses. He didn;t have anything to say in response to Liana's points. He would no doubt die or get her killed and he didn;t want her blood on his hands even if she wa sa demon...hell demons and angels were all on the same level as far as he was conncerned.
"You don't have to feel responsible for me," Harper stated slipping into her htought process slightly before he retook his seat upon the bed trying to sort himself out. He picked up the hex bag and tossed it from one hand to the other.
"Goodluck," Harper stated dryly as he looked over at Liana.
"You should know though...that breaking him out...which even if you didn't do another thing... he would get out...is not the end...it's only the start...once he is out it will only get worse; for your side," Harper explained his eyes locking with Liana's beofr epulling away and focusing on the medical braclet which still clung to his wrist.

"Goodluck,"
Liana sighed, feeling increasingly guilty the longer she looked at Harper. It might have been better for the both of them if she'd simply killed him. But they'd long since passed that point.
She placed the second hex bag on the desk carefully and turned to leave. Pausing slightly when he spoke. "You should know though...that breaking him out...which even if you didn't do another thing... he would get out...is not the end...it's only the start...once he is out it will only get worse; for your side,"
She shook her head. She didn't see how that made any sense. If Lucifer rose, hell would win... she let it drop. It didn't matter anyway. She looked over her shoulder at him, thinking, once again, of the problems she had caused him and for the first time since she'd been human, said the words: "I'm sorry."
Then she calmly walked out of the motel room and had disappeared before the door had closed behind her.

"I'm sorry."
Harper wanted to protest even though almost every fiber of his body was telling him to shut up; but even if he could have Liana was gone before he had ever gotten the chance. He watched for a moment as the door closed behind her.
The silence in the room was pretty smothering but just the same Harper sat in silence and stared at the door for several moments the familiar whisperes filtering through his mind but he pushed them all aside as he attempted to figure out what he would do next...what he could do next.
In retrospect he was an escaped mental patient and possibly an assumed murder...his options were slim. Pushing himself up from the ned Harper made his way over to the table and picked up the 2nd hex bag Liana had put together; he rolled it around in his hand for a moment thinking about setting it on fire immediately and bringing her back but he knew that would be a waste and then he wouldn't have any other way to get within reach of her. He shoved the summoning hex bag into his pocket and eyed the protection hex bag which still sat upon the bed. Eyeing it defianetly Harper turned and walked out of the room slamming the door behind him and leaving the hex bag in the motel...he had told Liana she didn;t need to feel responsible for him and he was going to make it extremley clear if only to himself.
