“You see, I’d love to,” Flick said when Killian mentioned getting out in the world. “But apparently, ‘I want to see more of the world’ isn’t a valid argument for me. So I’m stuck here being over protected.”
Flick cried out in surprise as Killian yanked her back onto the footpath as a car sped past her. “Thanks,” she said. “Traffic is my weakness. In a city like this, it’s hard to figure out what’s right in front of me and what’s over a few blocks.”
"How about we let me do the road crossings yeah?"
“You got it,” Flick said, not really interested in being run over today. She held out her hand to him so he could guide her across the road. “Come on then.”

"Of course it is! You don't need eyes to be able to see the world it is an entirley different experience all together," Killian explained. He had seen his good and his bad parts of life and the world and yet he wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
"Well that's not good," Killian muttered as Flick explained that she had trouble with traffic.
Killian took her hadn after a few beats and helped her across the street. He stopped for a moment noticing where they were and still holding on to her he took them down the road for a moment.
"Slight detour...it'll only take a second," Killian explained as he stopped in front of the repair shop.
"I'll be right back...don;t go anywhere," he instructed as he made his way into the small garage that had been working on his bike since he wrecked it.
"MY bike is here and I just moved so I needed to drop off the address for when it's done," Killian explained scribbling the new address on a piece of scrap paper and handing it to the mechanic.
"It's under Harrison Davies," he explained lowering his voice slightly before heading back out to the sidewalk.

"Yeah, well, you can try telling Jamie that," Flick muttered.
"Well that's not good,"
"You think?" she said. "Sometimes I can figure it out, but mostly I have to be lucky enough to have someone pull me to safety."
Flick frowned when Killian pulled her off in some strange direction and told her not to go anywhere. Great, she was the blind chick hovering outside of a..... she tapped her cane hard on the side of the building.... repair shop. She felt slightly awkward waiting outside alone and started tapping her foot. It didn't make a whole lot of noise, considering her lack of footwear, but it gave her something to do.
She heard someone come out of the building and, judging by their distinct lack of aura, she was pretty sure it was Killian. "What did you break?"

"A lot of things but currently I wrecked my bike and just moved so I needed them to make sure they had the rigth place," Killian explained motioning towards the shope behind him...a motion he realized soon after would be lost on anyone but him.
His bike was one of the few things Killian was "attached" to per say. He had gotten it through a relationship he had had with an oilers daughter, the relationship had been a disaster but then he had died by being nailed by a car but hey it had gotten him out of the relationship. The bike and the chain he had recieved from his mother over 300 years ago were the 2 most important things he owned.
"You ready to continue to head out?"

"Bike?" Flick asked. "Like motorbike?" She'd always wanted to ride a motorbike but they were another thing on Jamie's list of 'things Flick is too blind to have.'
"How about we trade lives," Flick suggested. "You can be blind, and I'll drive the motorbike all over the world, sound good?"
"You ready to continue to head out?"
Flick nodded and frowned. Okay, so if they were at the repair shop then her house was... which way again? stupid blindness Flick thought to herself. She took a deep breath and listened, somewhere in the distance she could hear a dog, a rottweiler to be specific. A rottweiler named Rudi to be super specific. She smiled pointed in the direction of the barking. "That way."

"Yup like a motorbike...it has seen better days currently but when it isn;t beat to shit it is a pretty awesome ride."
Killian laughed lightly as Flick suggested the trade lives...if she only knew.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want my life...or lack there of," Killian muttered as Flick seemed to situate herself so that they were headed back in the right direction. Killian would never make it as a blind man that was for certain he would be lost all the damn time till he walked himself clean off the side of a cliff.
"That way it is then."

Flick clearly heard the "or lack there of" part of Killian's statement but forced herself not to ask what he meant.
"Are you just saying that 'cause you don't want my life?" she said jokingly instead. "There's a lot of money involved if that makes it more appealing."
She started walking in the direction of home and jumped slightly as a loud ringing sounded from the pocket of her jeans. She reaches into her pocket and flipped open her cellphone.
"Yeah," she said, already knowing who it was.
"Hey." Jamie's voice floated down the line. "Listen, I may be leaving town for a few weeks."
Flick stopped in her tracks. Jamie had left town before but never quite that long. "Oh?" she asked. "Where are you going?"
"Italy, there's a job needs doing on an island off the coast of Venice," Jamie explained.
"Italy," Flick repeated. "I suppose there's no point in asking if I can come with?"
"No point at all, it's too dangerous."
Flick sighed. "Okay, so was there a reason you couldn't wait until I was home do discuss this?"
There was a paused. "I'm thinking of leaving tonight and I didn't know when you'd be home." Flick waited, she was pretty sure there was more to come. "And I wanted to know if you knew anyone who could keep an eye on you while I'm gone."
Flick sighed. "I don't need anyone to keep an eye on me, Jamie, I'll be fine on my own," she assured him. "You just go."
"No, Flick, I'm serious." Jamie's voice was firm, almost angry. "I need to do this, but I can't leave unless I know you're being looked after."
Flick closed her eyes and tried not to let out the frustrated growl that threatened. "Look, I'll be home soon, so if you're not planning on ditching within the next half hour, we can discuss it then." She closed her phone and shoved it back in her pocket before giving Killian an apologetic look.
"Sorry about that."

"Nope I say it because you don't want mine...trust me on that," Killian advised not joking in the least bit. He was rather certain being blind was no day in the park but if push came to shove he was positive Flick would pick her own life apposed to Killian's.
Killian attempted not to over hear as Flick snapped back at whoever was on the other end of the phone about one thing or another. Once she had terminated the subject Killian was mroe then intrigued to know what it had all been about.
"So who was that? Jealous husband?...Boyfriend?...Lover?...wondering where you've gotten off to?" Killian asked with a smile even though he knew she couldn't see it. Thouh he was pretty sure if she confirmed it was any of those the smile would be gone and he would feel like an ass.
"Are we still going onwards or do we need to stow you away somewhere?"

"So who was that? Jealous husband?...Boyfriend?...Lover?...wondering where you've gotten off to?"
Flick laughed in spite of her anger. "Noooo," she said. "Do I look like the kind of girl who has any of those? Jamie's my legal guardian. He's got a... business thing he has to go to but he won't take me with him and he won't go unless there's someone around to look after me."
She scowled. "I'm twenty years old, and I've been blind my whole life, you'd think he'd know by now that I can take care of myself."
She sighed and continued walking, her cane tapping in front of her, perhaps a little harder than necessary. "Sorry," she said. "You don't need to hear this."

"Anyone can have anyone now a days...that is what Google is for," Killian responded with a smile.
Killian listened carefully as Flick ranted about her guardian he had learned a long while ago sometimes it was best to just let a girl go...especially since they would no doubt go about on their own any how.
"No worries we all have something or so to go on about," Killian replied with a smile as Flick apologized.
"I don;t suppose telling him that the 17 year old stranger who knocked you voer would check up on you would put his mind to rest at all?" Killian asked even if inwardly he added a few years or so on to the 17...a few hundred years or so.

Flick laughed at Killian's comment about Google. Being blind, of course, she'd never used Google, but she decided to to mention that as she felt it would ruin the joke.
"I don't suppose telling him that the 17 year old stranger who knocked you over would check up on you would put his mind to rest at all?"
Flick laughed and shook her head. "I doubt it..." her face turned serious suddenly. "Actually, if you wouldn't mind, that would be fantastic."
There was a loud barking from her right and she stopped, recognising the bark as her large yet loveable Rottweiler Rudi. The dog was clearly unhappy to see her with someone he'd never seen before but she scratched the top of his head to appease him.
"Well, this is me," she said, gesturing in the direction she knew her house was. "Thanks for the company."
