Killian had been rather pleased with the way his current life was going; but then again anything would have been an improvement compared to the hell of the last...though he had to keep in mind he was still very very...VERY much cursed and still running out of lives. He had 3 left and he had to be careful not to screw any of them away...and if he could avoid being bitten by a vampire....AGAIN that would be awesome.
But for the moment everything seemed to fall by the waist side especially since Alexis had agreed to him moving into her place. It had been years...literally over 300 since Killian had a place to call home; a solid place which wouldn't change and it sort of made his life...teh current one anyways.
He had left Alexis to call the other vampire which seemed to be their only current hope of reigning in Mary. Killian had set off to go and gather his things and haul them back over to Alexis's flat and move in...which was pretty awesome he had to admitt. For life...or well this current life being pretty shitty Killian had to be pleased with the current state.
Of course fate...and the curse which was currently floating over him couldn;t have him getting far to out of hand and as Killian rounded the corner he lost his footing and all but tumbeled around the corner slamming into something...or what felt like someone and sending them both crashing none to gracefully to the ground.
"Son of a bitch!" Killian exclaimed rather indigently as he met the groound beneath himself harshly.
"Jesus I am so sorry," Killian muttered as he turned himself up and around to see who he had managed to send tumbeling to the ground along with him.

Flick walked slowly down the street, her cane swinging by her side rather than tapping in front of her. She wanted to listen to the sounds around her rather than the cane in front of her. Besides, people often made a wide birth around her when they noticed she was blind, so there was no chance of walking into any one. Although all she could see was black, she could hear the sounds of day everywhere, bees searching for pollen, children screeching with delight as their parents pushed them higher on the swings, people bustling passed her on their way to who knew where. Flick smiled to herself, all in all, she could tell today was a good day.
Something... no, someone, collided with her and she crashed to the ground, hitting her head on the concrete. "Jesus..." she muttered, propping herself up on one of her elbows and rubbing the back of her head with her other hand. She couldn't feel any blood, which was a good sign. She decided she'd use her cane to get her the rest of the way home.
"Jesus I am so sorry," said a voice, young, male and... no wait, that couldn't be right. She frowned. He felt... dead... ghostly dead. But he was far too solid to be a ghost. He didn't sound empty when he spoke, but... what the hell?
She pushed herself up into a sitting position and grabbed her cane from where she'd dropped it, trying to figure out the person in front of her and failing. He was alive... but he wasn't. This was a new one.
"I'm fine," she said finally, in response to his apology. "Are you okay?"

Killian had righted himself so he could attempt to help up the person he had all but plowed voer in his decent to meet the ground and he managed to feel ten times worse as he took in the sight before him. Not only had the girl he had slammed into been a girl but she was also a blind woman and from the looks of the people gathered around them he was quickly being classified as the ass who took down the blind girl.
....Awesome.
Killian cringed slightly as he watched the girl pick up her walking cane that she had dropped when he had sent them both crashing to the ground...apprently his luck hadn't changed all that much and he was still very much cursed.
"I'm fine...Are you okay?"
"Me? Yeah I'm good...aside from being the douche bag who plowed over the blind girl...woman...sorry," Killian said reliazing his reply wasn't helping things as he pulled himself to his feet and offered a hand out to her...quickly realizing with an embaressed look that she couldn't very well see his gesture.
"Can I help you up...or something?...I'm really sorry...again," Killian offered not having anythign else to really explain his none to graceful moments since he was rather certain explaing he was cursed by a witch/vampire wouldn't exactly do him ANY good.

"Relax, it's not like you did it on purpose, right?" Flick said, smiling reassuringly at him. She knew people were uncomfortable around her because she was 'disabled.' So knocking her over would understandably make people feel terrible. She raised a hand to her head again, feeling a bruise beginning to form. Other than that she was fine, she'd have Jamie check it out when she got home just in case.
"Can I help you up...or something?... "
Flick nodded, lifting her hand in the air, trying to locate his. Her hand grazed his and she gripped it tight as she allowed him to help her to her feet. As she held his hand, she attempted to force her way into his head, trying to figure him out. Normally she wouldn't, she was a big believer in respecting others' privacy, but... this was a special case. What she found there was... not a whole lot. She didn't know if he somehow could lock his mind away or if there just wasn't anything to find. Either way it was incredibly frustrating.
Realising she'd been holding his hand longer than necessary, Flick quickly pulled her hand back and gripped her cane tightly, unsure of what to do now that they were both standing. Technically, their meeting didn't need to go any further, they just had to go their separate ways, patch up their hurt and forget about each other. But his aura was a complete enigma to her and she didn't want to let him get away until she'd figured him out.
"So was there a particular reason you couldn't take the corner at a normal speed?" she asked, stalling with the first question that came to mind.

"No...no I totally didn't do it on purpose," Killian responded to what he would gather would have been the rhetorical question the girl brought up. He figured he wouldn't have felt nearly as bad if he hadn't sent a blind girl spiraling to the ground...that was just poor chance on his part.
Killian gripped her hand as she placed it in his and helped her up to her feet carefully. Killian stood there along the sidewalk the girl still gripping his hand in hers until she pulled it back and gripped on to her walking cane. Even with her standing upright and seemingly ok he still felt like an ass for knocking her over.
"So was there a particular reason you couldn't take the corner at a normal speed?"
Killian paused for a moment knowing the response "Well you know a witches curse is a bitch..." wouldn't really go over too well so instead he opted for a more "sane" response.
"Sidewalk gnomes...damn ankle biter reached right out and grabbed me and sent me crashing around it," Killian said with a slight smile as he attempted to make light of the situation. As the girl stood on the sidewalk he allowed his eyes to check her over himself and he was rather certain she was ok.
"Do you need any help or anything getting to where you're going?...Or just to make sure nobody else plows you over?" Killian offered figuring it was the least he could do. And for the moment he was good on time since he was going to allow Alexis to deal with the newest vampire as he had no real desire to become the main dish twice in 1 day.

In spite of herself, Flick let out a laugh at the boys comment about sidewalk gnomes. It was a statement obviously used to cover up for something else but she gave him points because of the amusement factor.
"That'd be nice," she said, regarding his question to help her get where she was going. "The thing is though, I'm going home, which is in the opposite direction to which you fell." She was pretty sure she was looking past him, he was harder to find than most people, but she smiled anyway. "So, your options are, go back the way you came and walk me home, or I can walk home by myself and you can go... wherever it is you're going."
She twirled her cane around and started walking slowly in the direction of home, before turning back to him so she was walking backwards. "Your choice."

Killian grimaced slightly as the girl began to walk backwards...the blind girl began to walk backwards...he was pretty sure that was something that would only end in tears.
"I've got all the time in the world so I think I owe it to you to help make sure the gnomes don't go after you on your way home," Killian replied with a slight smile even if it was only to get her to stop walking backwards.
"Do you make it a habbit of walking backwards?" Killian asked as he made his way back over to her side and gently manuevered her till she was facing the proper direction...or the direction he thought would be the proper one to where she was needing to get to.

"Not usually, no," Flick said as the boy turned her around she was facing the direction she was walking in. "But it's not like I actually need to watch where I'm walking," she pointed out. "It doesn't make a difference, backwards or forwards."
She began tapping her cane in front of her, allowing the vibrations and sounds to let her know what was in front of her. "Watch your step," she said suddenly, swinging her cane up, hitting the boy lightly in the chest to stop the him from tripping over the small cat the suddenly dashed across their path.
"Been in town long?" she asked, by way of making conversation. "Your accent isn't particularly New Yorkish, so I figure you're not from around here."

"True," Killian agreed with a small nod as the girl pointed out that in her case it didn;t rightly matter which way she was headed when she walked.
"Though even people who can see tend to bust their asses just walking straight...says the man who knocked you for six...literally."
Killian watched more then a little enthralled as the girl made her way along the sidewalk just fine on her own. How she got around like that was beyond him but then again you had to figure she was simply doing what came naturally to her.
"What are..." Killian cut himself off as a small cat ran right out in front of htem. He hadn;t even seen the cat until it was literally right out in the way but she had...Killian was beginning to think she wasn't the one who was blind.
"You sure you're blind?" Killian asked as he watched the cat scarmble away.
"Um...I tend to come and go really...I was born on teh East coast...but haven't been back there in a very ...very long time," Killian said in response to the girls question. He attempted not to stare at her as they went but then again he figured she wouldn;t see him even if he did.

"You sure you're blind?"
Flick smiled. "Well, I guess that depends on your definition of blind," she said. She took off her sunglasses and gestured to her eyes, which Jamie had told her looked frighteningly vacant.... hence the sunglasses. "But as far as my eyes go, blind as a blind thing. I just happen to be good at moving around the city without falling over... usually anyway."
"I can't imagine being away from home for long," Flick said, putting her sunglasses back on. "Why haven't you been back? Surely your family misses you?" She was delving into none-of-her-business territory but the more she knew about he boy, the clearer things might get. Which reminded her. "I'm Flick by they way, and you?"

Killian stopped in his tracks for a moment as he took in the sight of the girl's eyes. He had never seen anything like them before and voer the last 300 years he had seen an awful lot but her eyes seemed to be vacant yet they could pierce right through you just the same adn Killian shuddered slightly as the feeling that she could stare straight into him passed as she put her glasses back on.
He wanted to ask her how long she had been blind for but he figured it was a bit too personal of a question.
"Why haven't you been back? Surely your family misses you?"
Killian stopped short for a moment before continueing on in his pace along side of the girl. Her innocent question had struck a very hard cord within him.
"I've got nothing to go back for," Killian explained dryly as they walked along the path.
"Nice to meet you Flick I'm Killian," he introduced himself glad for the possible change in conversation.

Flick heard a small pang of hurt in his words when he explained why he didn't return home. It had struck a cord, which meant something. It also meant Flick was being terribly insensitive. She was too focused on finding out who, or what, he was that she didn't consider anything else.
Alright, I'll stop now, she told herself, before lifting a hand and touching the side of his face lightly, her normal gesture of comfort. "Sorry," she said, "I shouldn't have asked."
Her head tilted to the side at the sound of his name. "Killian?" she repeated. "That's an interesting name. Can't say I've ever heard it before."
Flick tried to think of something to say that wouldn't involve asking about his background. "So why New York, Killian?" Was that non-invasive? She didn't know. Damn, she needed to work on her social skills.

"No it's fine, just nothing special," Killian replied with a shrug.
"Flick isn;t really common either," Killian replied with a smirk as Flick pointed out that his name wasn't really a common one.
"Though I'm guessing it's short for something right?"
"So why New York, Killian?"
Killian thought about her question for a moment...hell it was a really good one and he was trying to figure out what had brought him to the city that never sleeps but then again the answer was easy for him.
"It's easy to get lost here," and that was the truth. Technically he could die in one part of New York like say his bad bout in the Hamptons the time before he met Alexis and then live perfect lost in life...and or death in New York City. Especially since he didn't make it a habbit of hanging around in the same circles as those had been.
"What about you? Born and raised here ro do you come from somewhere else?"

Flick nodded. "You'd be right, it's short for Felicity," she explained, "but I prefer Flick 'cause Felicity is so... not me."
It was easy to get lost in New York, not just the physical kind of lost either, although there was plenty of that going around. But she knew a lot of people came to New York to lose themselves, to forget. Sure, a lot of people just liked the sound of the city, but everyone had a story of some kind.
"Born and raised," Flick said in response to Killian's question. "I've never been out of the city, which is kind of lame, but we don't really have many opportunities for vacations."
She tapped her cane to the side, looking for the curb and stopped, listening to the traffic. Crossing the road was always difficult for her. Even when she thought it was clear, a car came speeding out of no where. The only cars she heard were in the distance somewhere so, deeming it safe to cross, she stepped off the curb.

Killian listened as Flick and/or thought not preffered Felicity explained that she had never been out of the city before. That was a hard concept for Killian to grasp since ever since he had "woken up" so to speak he had done nothing else but move and go from place to place.
"You should make time to get out there every once in awhile...the world is pretty damn big."
Killian's attention was grabbed slightly by away from Flick for a moment but it was long enough that when he turned back she was about to step into the road where a car had sped around the corner and was crashing right towards her. Killian reached out and yanked her backwards none too gently but he figured being plowed down by a speeding BMW would be worse.
"You can dodge miracle cats that appear out of nowhere but what fails you a BMW that can flatten you...good to know," Killian muttered as his hand remained gripped upon the girls arm before he removed it hseepishly not realizing he had still been holding on to it.
"How about we let me do the road crossings yeah?"
