Fengyu bowed her head as the pastor spoke the closing prayer in his deep even voice. Since picking up Christianity in college, she had made a habit of going to church as often as she was able. It usually didn't matter what type of congregation, as long as it followed the basic tenants of the faith. The rural New York Church was small, but well attended -- she had found it nearly by accident. After discovering Mujing's connection to Lilith, the young woman had left New York City, needing to get away from the busyness of the place. She had driven her motorcycle as fast as the law allowed until a storm had hit, this town had been the nearest stop.
Her heart was still hurting from the revelation and the phone conversation that had followed. The Sen family hadn't taken the news of her brother's trencher well. By raising such a man in their household, the family had lost face. Her uncle, who was the oldest male of the family after her father's murder, had decided that only blood would restore the honor that had been lost. Sen Mujing would pay for his crime with his life, and Fengyu was to carry out the execution. The thought of killing her brother, her blood, sickened the young hunter, but she would do it. Mujing was dangerous had to be stopped before he hurt innocent people.
She just prayed that God would give her the strength to do it.
Fengyu looked around and realized that the the service had ended without her noticing, the nave was now nearly empty.

Xavier had been so caught up with Anna and the apocalypse that he had nearly forgotten about his charges on earth. He was currently using one of his charges as a vessel, a young, devout man who despite losing everything, still retained his faith. But there was one charge of his he felt needed special attention at the moment. Sen Fengyu, a young hunter, had found herself charged with the duty of putting down her brother whom had fallen in with demons. He knew that, despite the idea of killing her own family making her ill, she would do as she was told because she knew she had too. So he thought she might need a little comfort.
He closed his eyes and followed the pull of his charge, finding himself in a near empty church. The girl was alone on the pew, looking around surprised, like she hadn't known she'd been alone. Xavier approached her slowly and smiled down at her.
"Mind if I sit?" he asked.

Fengyu had been worried when she saw a man approaching her, wondering if he was going to tell her to leave. It came as a surprise when he instead asked if he could sit down. He was very nice looking, his eyes were a clear blue that could easily draw a person in.
"Du -- I mean yes. It is fine for you to sit."
The hunter flushed slightly, once again finding herself struggling to find the proper phrasing. She had improved her English since she had left Taiwan, but trying to talk to this attractive stranger left her tong-tied. It wasn't like she had ever been good with words anyway, language was one of the few areas Mujing outdid her in. Mujing. Fengyu dropped her eyes down to the floor as thoughts of her brother threatened to overwhelm her once again.

Xavier sat down next to Fengyu and looked at her from the corner of his eye. She had blushed deeply after telling him he could sit, he assumed because her english was not as good as she would have liked it to be, but as he sat down he felt something about her change. She lowered her eyes to the ground and she looked as if she may start crying.
"Hey, is everything okay?" he asked, he knew, of course that it wasn't, but she couldn't know what he was. It would make watching over her slightly difficult. So he gave her a worried look, trying to make eye-contact, hoping she would open up to him.

Under any normal circumstance, Fengyu would have brushed off the stranger's question with a simple "I'm fine," but something about this man urged her to open up, if only a little. It was irrational and dangerous, but the hunter needed to talk to someone who wasn't family.
"It is just family troubles. My brother has. . .committed a great crime against us." Unsure of how to explain her task, the hunter paused for a long moment. "I have been charged with finding him."
She hung her head, seeking justice was the term that her uncle had used. Such a simple phrase. It did nothing to express the pain of being told to kill one's own brother.
"I am conflicted. My love for him is great, but his crime is unforgivable."

Xavier wasn't entirely sure how to comfort the young woman. He could understand, to a certain extent, the pain of being told she must kill her sibling but Mujung was very dangerous and there was no other way. He watched her sadly as she bowed her head, her conflicted feelings written across her face.
"Must've been bad," he said, remembering that he was supposed to be a stranger. "What happens when you find him?"
He had a feeling that he hadn't said anything even remotely comforting and began to wonder why angels were sent to comfort humans... emotions weren't really their strong point.

"When I find him. . .when I find him I will do what I must"
Fengyu stopped speaking and shook her head. She didn't understand why she was talking to this man. There was no was a civilian could fully understand her situation, and if she tried to explain he'd most likely go running to the police.
"I am sorry. My words must not to be making sense. This whole thing very complicated."

Xavier knew that Fengyu would have trouble opening up completely to him if she was afraid he'd think she was crazy, or dangerous. He appeared to be a random civillian off the street and telling strangers you plan to kill your brother tends not to go down very well with mortal authorities. He would have to convince her he was a hunter but one couldn't just come out and say 'I hunt monsters' it didn't work like that. He decided he would have to try again later, with a better plan, if he was going to help her.
"It's okay," he said. "I don't expect you to tell a total stranger your life story." He looked down at his watch and grimaced. "I've got to get going," he said apologetically. He stood up and put a hand on her shoulder in, what he hoped, was a comforting gesture. He opened his mouth to say something but found he didn't have the words so he just smiled sadly at her and walked out of the church.
