“Do not do this…I will not let you do this any of you; you shall not disobey…turn on the will of our Father for the likes of her. She is FALLEN…DAMNED for eternity for turning her back upon the Father which created her! Do not make the same mistake so many made not so long ago and take the side of another angel against him I will not see more of my brethren cast out of heaven!” The church shook with the force of Gabriel's words, and though he understood them, Xavier would not stand aside.
Xavier blinked when he saw Gabriel was no longer in front of him, then spun around to see him gripping tightly to Anna. So much for that plan.
"Anna may be fallen, but she is our sister still. My love for her has not lessened, I cannot let you destroy her if there is a chance she may be saved." Xavier wholeheartedly agreed with Michael but it appeared Gabriel had not changed his mind. Things were getting tense, he sensed a fight, one he hoped he would not have to have, nevertheless, he called to him his sword, just in case.

Gabriel’s gaze burned back at Anna as she proclaimed that she did not wish for the other angels to fall.
“Then do not allow them to fall for the sake of you,” Gabriel’s voice was low as he snapped the reply back at the fallen. He knew firsthand what would happen if the angels rose up against the orders they had been given and sided with Anna instead of doing what was right and ending her as they had been ordered. It was more than just the orders that drove Gabriel to want to carry through with what they had been told; it was the danger she possessed. The fallen was a liability whether she realized it or not. She was a portal for the demonic world to their war; the war they were fighting so hard to protect and stop and yet here were his brethren allowing the liability to continue.
“Castiel should have ended you…you are correct Anna; he should have done it several times before. Perhaps it was you that bought the danger he is in now upon him.”
Gabriel’s eyes flashed with anger as Anna’s hand connected with his own. She may have been his sister long ago but they had long since passed that point and she would find no mercy through him with kind acts. He was not the one she needed forgiveness from.
“Scriptures written for his children upon this earth do not hold against the treacherous forms of blasphemy you have taken part of Anna. They serve no bounds for you as you had all of the knowledge and love of heaven thrusted upon you once and it was you…willingly who threw it all away.”
Gabriel’s eyes focused once more upon Raphael.
“The same would apply to you brother scriptures which were written by the prophets to God’s earthly children are not used for the acts of the fallen; you and I both know this. If she was to be forgiven then the order would no longer stand; you are all here as your choice…your choice to disobey the orders given forth by our Father.”
Gabriel’s gaze fell back upon Michael as she too began to speak the same round of words the others had as well. It would seem that the others had no intentions of allowing God’s will to be done but they were mistaken if they thought he would simply allow for it not to be done.
“You will fall Michael…you and all others who go against the orders of heaven. We are not created to pick and choose what we follow and when it is to be carried out; we are here souly to follow his commands and do his will. No I will ask you once more and once more only Michael…” Gabriel’s attention was momentarily stolen from him as Xavier’s movements behind him caught his sight. He would allow his brother to do what he needed to as long as it was understood he too would fight for that which he believed in.
Gabriel’s grip upon Anna’s arm tightened greatly as his eyes seared back into Michael as he finished his warning to his brethren.
“The will of God shall be done Michael. Remove yourself or I shall remove you.”

Gazes and words were exchanged and Anna stood silently. Gabriel's words about Castiel cut her deeper than any sword on the battlefield and she lowered her gaze to the floor. She had to say she was moved that her brethren would come to defend her before her execution...but looking at the way of events she believed that would be all they would do. The look in Gabriel's eyes told her that she would die by his hand whether he had to fight through the other arch-angels or not.
Anna could no longer hold her silence when she noticed Xavier summon his sword. She would not let any more be hurt because of her. Like Cas. She heard Gabriel snap at Michael to move one more time before he would 'remove her himself'. Taking a small breathe she straightened and looked straight into his eyes.
"No," she said and with a sudden movement, snatched her arm out of his grasp. "No one else will be harmed because of me." Her head held high, Anna walked out of the small circle of angels and to the front of the church. She stopped where she had first seen Gabriel and looked up at the cross before spinning around.
"God's will is God's will. He has ordered it and so shall it be." She held up a hand to stop any protests. Her eyes flickered to each of the others, as if begging them not to intercede on her behalf. "I won't pretend that I wish he would change his mind," she said, licking her lips in a nervous human gesture. "But it seems that he has not. He gave the orders before I stole my grace from Uriel....the asshole who has now harmed my brethren. I am glad it was I who rid him from the garrison. At least I got to do one last thing for you all."
She had begun to walk towards them as she spoke, never one to be able to stand still. Her feet stopped her in front of Raphael and she lended him a small smile before turning back to Gabriel.
"So....Do I get a last wish or anything?" she asked, her peaceful smile she gave to Raphael turning sarcastic. "Hm? Do I at least get one of those Gabe?" Her eyes changed from cool to hurt.
Reaching out she gave the higher angel a shove. "Huh?" she almost yelled at him. "Or am I not good enough Gabe?"
"I was certainly good enough to save Castiel's life and slay our betrayer! I was good enough to do what you all did not see. But I guess I've used up my usefulness haven't I?" She gave him another small shove, her vessel powerful as it was, still smaller than his.
"Haven't I?"
If she had still been fully human there was no doubt that angry tears would be shed. They clung to the corners of her eyes, barely formed. Sucking in a sharp breathe she blinked them away.

As he appeared silently in the church, the Metatron took in the scene before him. Angels, fighting amongst themselves, for the sake of one fallen. Archangels for that matter. Things had certainly been confused.
"ENOUGH" he said, his voice echoing through the church as he made his way towards them. "What is wrong with you? You fight for the life of one fallen angel when there are more important things that need doing." He could feel the anger and the potential violence rippling throughout the church.
"Now, who can tell me why you were all sent to earth in the first place?" if they were going to behave like children, then like children he would trest them.

Raphael watched each of his brethren as Gabriel resumed shooting down their arguments. His hand raised to rub his eyes and forehead in slight irritation as he sighed when Gabe snapped at Michael to move one last time. He made a move to speak again but was stopped by Anna's voice.
"No."
His eyes snapped up and he stared at her as she walked away from the group and towards the front of the church where the symbol of their Lord's son hung lonely and sad. Anna's eyes wondered over each of them and he sadly watched her say her peace. For a moment it did not seem like the fiery Anna he remembered.
Her approach back to them was slow and he tilted his head slightly when she stopped in front of him. The smile she gave him was a bit contagious however and he smiled back at her. It was not a full smile however as his eyes continued to portray his sadness. Raphael watched her turn away and head for Gabriel again and nearly protested but remembered her earlier look.
To say he was shocked at what happened next would be an understatement. For a moment he thought Anna might have gone a bit crazy from falling. Raphael stood, hands in his pockets, as Anna continued to question Gabriel. In a way she was right.
He let her have another moment before finally deciding it was time to step in. He was cut off however by a different voice this and froze. Turning he saw someone he had not expected. Metatron. Well...they were certainly in trouble.
Raphael's eyes moved to the ground as Metatron scolded them like school children.

"Don't you dare insult Castiel Gabriel! He has given more to this war than any other in his garrison." Angry, Michael tightened her grip on the other angel's wrist, twisting it enough to cause pain. "His fall was force upon him by demons. DEMONS! The ones we are supposed to be fighting!"
She nearly protested when Anna pulled away from her, but stopped when the fallen angel began to speak.
"God's will is God's will. He has ordered it and so shall it be."
The look in her former subordinates eyes hurt. They begged Michael to not interfere, to back down, something that went against every part of the archangel's being. It took a great deal of willpower, but she did nothing as Anna stated her case, going as far as to shove Gabriel.
"Metatron"
When the Voice of God made his sudden appearance, Michael felt like a human child who had been caught fighting in the school yard.Ashamed that she had been fighting with her brother, the archangel lowered her head and stepped away from Gabriel, hiding her hand behind her back. This could go very bad for all of them. It was this angel, who had once been a man, that would have the final say in Anna fate this night. Whatever he decided, Michael could not go against.

Xavier tightened his grip on his sword as Anna bravely stepped up to meet her fate. He almost stepped forward to stop her but, when she looked at him, the look on her face almost pleading him to stay put, he could not do anything else. He reluctantly relaxed his grip on his sword and forced himself to stay where he was.
When a loud voice echoed through the church and Xavier looked up to see Metatron, the Voice of God, walking towards them, he was momentarily stunned. It was not often the Metatron visited earth. Then, realising how much trouble that meant they were in, he hid his sword pathetically behind his back, shuffled further away from the Metatron slightly and bowed his head, sincerely ashamed of his actions.

Gabriel stood in silence as Anna pulled herself away from his grasp and made her way before the cross. The symbol of their Father’s son who had given all in the name of humanity stood out upon the dark depleted rubble of the house it stood within. One day perhaps their Father would have mercy on her and welcome him back into his kingdom but until that time she would suffer for her sins as it was ordered by God.
"God's will is God's will. He has ordered it and so shall it be."
Gabriel allowed her to continue on her speech knowing it would not harm anything by allowing her to speak freely once more before she was judged and sent on to damnation. Her words alone carried tightly the anger and despair she felt and that was to be expected especially after spending time as a human Anna possessed emotions she still could not free herself from and that made her an even larger liability for God’s army is that it was without question that she would think first with her heart and think as a warrior of God second. It was by no fault of her own…it was her chosen fall that made her susceptible to it all.
“I know my mission Michael it is you I have fear who has forgotten yours,” Gabriel countered against Michael’s anger filled words. He allowed her her moment of anger knowing that it was painful for them all who had cared about Anna to watch her perish but in their grief they had forgotten their place and Gabriel would not at any moment in time forget that his place lay with the will of God.
Gabriel watched carefully as Anna stood before Raphael before returning herself before him. The archangel already knew without another step forward that his brethren would not be pleased by the course of events which would go forward and for that he was sorrowful but since the beginning of time it had been his purpose to receive the will of God and deliver it with no thought towards the content. He served his Father…he served God he did not serve his brother’s and he certainly did not serve the fallen.
“You may have whatever you wish on the day that God calls you to stand before him and be judged,” Gabriel explained steeling himself against her as she pushed out of anger but Gabriel again allowed it as it would prove nothing.
“The Lord our God shall either pardon or damn you but until that time it shall be hellfire which engulfs you and burns away your sin. God willing upon the day he calls you back to stand before him your sin shall be burned away and you will be granted passage back into the realms of his heaven and rejoice in the house of God forever. Hold fast to your thought and wishes and bring them before him.”
Gabriel’s eyes were calm as he searched the eyes of the fallen before him her anger ringing out as a beacon.
“You became an enemy of God the moment you destroyed your most precious gift. There is not blame her Anna simply consequence know that. I am not the end all or be all I am simply the messenger and God’s will is above all…it shall always be held above all,” Gabriel explained not feeling the desire to explain himself to the falling but demanding she understand his actions.
As her hands shoved against him once more Gabriel seized her arm gently with one hand and stared down at her his eyes speaking far greater volumes then his vessel could vocalize.
“Forgiveness is not out of your reach and when the day comes perhaps it shall be given unto you,” Gabriel finals words sealed any further time wasted as the will of God went unfulfilled as he made a motion to finish his orders Gabriel stopped only for the additional voice which carried itself through the church.
The sudden presence of Metatron was unexpected and for the moment Gabriel did as he was asked and ceased his actions upon the fallen as the angel who served as the voice of their Father rang out in the church. He refused to be ashamed of his actions and stood stock still as he peered back at the arriving angel. He had never in his existence apologized for carrying through the will of God and though many of his brethren may not understand it was not them who had to carry it out.
“For the will of God and for the protection of heaven in this war which has progressed greatly out of hand,” Gabriel answered his voice without waiver as he stared back at Metatron.
“Her damnation was commanded as she served a risk upon the war.”

The feeling of Gabriel's hand touching her arm caused her assault to pause and she looked down at it almost curiously as she had when Castiel had first touched her willingly without disgust. Anna's eyes flashed up to Gabriel's and she tilted her head ever so slightly. “Forgiveness is not out of your reach and when the day comes perhaps it shall be given unto you.”
Hearing Gabriel say he thought she had a chance at forgiveness she nodded silently, not knowing what to say. She closed her eyes as she felt Gabriel make a motion to finish his orders.
"ENOUGH"
Anna nearly jumped out of her skin at the voice of Metatron. It had been too long since she had last heard the voice of God and she felt herself stiffen as Gabriel had and turned to look at him. She glanced at the other angels who seemed to be as surprised as her at the sudden appearance. Since no one else had spoken she was not surprised when Gabriel spoke up, stating the Arch Angels reason for coming to Earth.
Subconsciously she felt herself inch closer to Gabriel. Out of him and Metatron, she currently felt a bit safer being closer to him even though he had tried to end her twice already. Not knowing what Metatron would say of her she preferred whatever little comfort she had found in Gabe to the unknown of what the Metatron would say.

The Archangels, with the exception of Gabriel, looked thoroughly ashamed of themselves. It was no surprise, then, that Gabriel was the only one to speak up. Metatron listened to his answer, nodding when appropriate and then, when he had finished, walked closer to the group of angels.
"Very good answer, Gabriel," Metatron said. "Only a few minor details missing. So, let me clear a few things up for you all."
"Anna, our dear fallen sister..." he said, looking at her sadly for a long time before he continued, turning to Gabriel and looking him right in the eye. "...is to be spared until further notice. Her sentence was given to her well before we knew why she had fallen or who she allied herself with. Our Father has now decided to withold judgement until this war is over."
He looked around, making sure the other angels were listening and therefore aware of the orders he was about to hand out.
"You therefore have two main priorities. Number one, stop Lucifer from ending the world. Really, you should already be doing that, not fighting amongst youselves." He shook his head disappointedly. "And two, locate Castiel's grace and return it to him. You may be aware that Castiel's grace was the final of thirteen needed to break a seal. That seal is broken and we cannot change. Castiel is not to be blamed."
He looked around one final time before asking. "Understood?"

The silenced Arch Angels all looked as if they had been put in a time out. Well all except Gabriel of course. Raphael watched Metatron curiously as he spoke and paused. He observed the lingering gaze on their fallen sister and the smallest of hope sprung up in the healer's heart.
"Anna, our dear fallen sister....is to be spared until further notice. Her sentence was given to her well before we knew why she had fallen or who she allied herself with. Our Father has now decided to withhold judgment until this war is over."
A wide smile crossed the angel's face and he glanced at the others. Thank God they had been right...well sort of. He controlled his smile however when Metatron began to speak once more. Raphael listened as he listened to their current assignments and nodded silently.
"Castiel is not to be blamed."
Looking up he saw Metatron look around at each of them. "Understood?"
Raphael nodded once more. "Yes sir. Understood," he said.

Michael felt a massive weight lift from her shoulders when Metatron deferred Anna's judgment until after the war. Surely this would give the fallen enough time to redeem herself in battle. To her credit Michael was able to mostly contain her excitement, and did nothing to provoke Gabriel. The wide grin that spread across her vessel's face could not be helped.
The archangel's face turned grim once more when Metatron brought up the war and Castiel's condition. Restoring the angel to his rightful place had been high on her to do list, but it was good to have it stated as an official mission.
"It will be as you command Metatron."

To say that Xavier was relieved when Metatron gave the order for Anna to be spared was an understatement. He let out an audible sigh and relaxed considerably, a huge grin spreading across his face.
He became serious once more when Metatron handed out their orders, the first, he knew, shouldn't have had to be repeated. The second, a surprise. Although he personally would have put finding Castiel's grace first among his priorities, he was not aware that their Father did also. He was more a big picture kind of person.
"Understood?"
He looked up at the Metatron and nodded. "Absolutely."

Gabriel stood silently with Anna by his side as the voice of Metatron…the angel who served as the voice of their Father filled the space of the depleted church. Upon hearing the angel explain their orders and that for the moment the will of God had changed in regards to the fallen Gabriel took a step away from her her damnation no longer his priority. He had done what was ordered of him and would always do so. It was not his place to question or change the will of God it was his role to follow through with his orders and he would gladly do that in the name of his father for all of eternity of it was asked of him.
They had new orders…or amended orders it would seem and there was little time to be wasted in regards to anything but completing the tasks before them. Gabriel knew his brethren well enough that they would be pleased by their “triumph” but just the same Gabriel held true to his actions.
He served God not his brethren, not humanity and not the fallen. His Father and none other.
“Understood.”
It was a simple answer one which required no thought their Father’s will be done.

The formerly bickering angels were all silent as Metatron spoke to them. Anna looked up when she heard her name spoken and watched him with a neutral face waiting to hear her fate. She felt him looking at her for a long time and almost averted his eyes from his continued gaze before he continued and turned his gaze on Gabriel.
"...is to be spared until further notice. Her sentence was given to her well before we knew why she had fallen or who she allied herself with. Our Father has now decided to withhold judgment until this war is over."
Her eyes widened slightly as she blinked at continued to stare at Metatron. Anna's arms had moved to cross over herself in a normally 'defiant' perceived posture as she listened. Now she found her arms falling to her sides before she joined her fingers behind her back, staring at the ground. She heard the rest of Metatron's words but kept her gaze on the ground.
Looking up she saw Gabriel take a step away and heard everyone murmur their understanding till she was the last one to answer. Anna bit her lip for a moment, looking Metatron in the eye before looking down for a moment then taking a step forward. "I understand completely sir," she said.
Her gaze met Metatron's again and she continued to fight to keep a stupid grin off of her face. "But...I need to ask you to pardon me for one more mortal act," she said before striding forward and giving a hug to the voice of God.
