Castiel’s eyes locked with the door of the motel room. He knew that if…when Zachariah appeared it was more than likely he would have no use the door as Dean had pointed out several times in the past apparently angels did not knock well. Castiel did not see the need for it when one could simply appear within a room. But just the same his eyes lay locked with the door his body holding the same rhythmic trembling that shattered through his body with every beat of his vessels heart. Castiel’s eyes shifted slightly from the door to Dean who was in front of him once more. He struggled to keep his eyes focused as he heard the Winchesters words. It was true it had been Dean Winchester who had broken the first seal but he was not damned…but Dean Winchester was also not an angel…it was not his orders to protect the seals at all costs.
Flinching slightly as Dean’s hand connected with his arm Castiel struggled to find the strength to speak.
“You…are…you were not…no blame is on you…y-you are not an angel,” Castiel whispered his voice low and hoarse as he struggled to pull in breaths between his words.
“You…will s-stop it…that is the…your redemption,” Castiel attempted to explain his hand still gripped within Anna’s grasp the pain from jostling his back now the normal level which burned through him. He could feel the cold grip about him yet feel the sweat from fever collecting upon his forehead causing his hair to stick to the skin of his forehead. Castiel sought refuge in the carpet below him his small gasps of pained breathing sinking into it as his eyes clenched shut attempting to shut out the pain.
He forced his eyes open for a moment as he felt the sensation of something delicate through the matted hair upon his head. He stared up at Anna for a moment as he realized it was her whose fingers ran through his sweat drenched hair. Confusion creased upon Castiel’s face as she pulled her hand from his grasp and he stared at his empty hand now for a moment before pulling it into his chest fisting it against his own chest as a form of physical connection against the pain.
Castiel moaned softly as Anna shifted him slightly his head resting now upon her knees. He attempted to shudder away from the pain the slight movement had caused him but he realized that there was no escape from it and he allowed his hand to once again rest within hers his other held on to her providing him with some sort of anchor as he felt the fabric of Anna’s clothing become drenched with his blood and he shuddered as a flash of cold ripped through him.
Castiel’s eyes rolled shut as he heard Anna’s voice call out for their superior and Castiel knew the pain and disgrace that would befall him when the elder angel appeared.
“Anna…” Castiel whispered her name his voice broken and laced with pain.
He did not know what the grip of death felt like but he was certain that the cold which had suddenly consumed him. The cold brought a blessed numbness to the pain but it also brought a sense of fear he did not even begin to know what to do in order to deal with it. Within the last hour he had been human for the first time in his entire existence and for the first time in any life his life had been a pain filled hell and he knew that was what eternity awaited him as his grip tightened upon Anna his eyes tearing away from the door and his head lulling to she side for a moment as he buried himself within Anna’s grasp seeking comfort within her.
“I…I do not…wish to…die…I” Castiel’s broken voice whispered to Anna as his eyes slipped shut as he no longer had the energy to hold them open any longer. He did not want to die in this form he feared it because he feared it would mean an eternity in hell for his damned soul. He wanted nothing more then to feel his Father's presence and the call of his brethern but all of that was lost to him now and it was just the feeling of loss which plagued him.

After calling Zachariah Anna's gaze continued to stay on the ceiling. She shut her eyes after a moment and muttered something under her breathe. She could feel blood start to soak into her pants and knew it was getting on her top as well, as she finished her quick prayer.
“Anna…”
She heard Cas whisper and looked down to see his eyes closed; pain was evident from his tone.
"Shhhh," she said, her fingers continuing to rake through his hair. "Just lie still and we'll get you all fixed up soon." His hair was so matted she had to be careful so as not to snag anything and cause further jostling. Anna felt his grip tighten and his head seemed to lull to her side for a moment as he buried himself within her grasp.
Her hand rested on the back of his neck as he resettled himself. When he stopped moving she returned it to his hair. Her gaze moved from his face to the wall as she stared into space, the methodical stroking setting her into a trance.
“I…I do not…wish to…die…I”
Anna let in a sharp intake of breathe as Castiel’s broken voice whispered to her. Her eyes snapped down to his face and she saw his eyes had slipped shut.
"You are not going to die," she said, her voice changing from it's recent soft tones to a slightly harsher voice. She recovered after a second and quickly, softer she added, "Just hold on Cas."
Looking around Anna spotted the towels Sam and Ruby had gathered and she reached for one with the hand Cas was not holding. She was careful not to move Castiel's head in the process. She picked up a few and placed them in a pile next to her legs before looking at his back. From her new spot she had a better view of the damage though she almost wished she didn't.
"Cas I'm going to need to apply some pressure to your back. We have to stop the bleeding if you want to live." Anna bit her lip before she moved some hair off of his forehead. "I'm not going to lie. This is going to hurt," she said before picking up a towel. She gave his hand a small squeeze before proceeding with her other to lift the towel towards his back. When it connected she applied pressure to keep it in place. The arm he held onto was firm and held him against the towel, sandwiching the angel between her two arms.
"I will not let you die. You are-- not ..allowed to die on me. Not after I saved you. Don't let my one good deed as a fallen angel go to waste." Her voice got quieter as she spoke and it seemed almost as if her voice broke at one point. By the end of her statement she seemed to be trying to joke with him, even though he may not understand it. But he was human now so maybe it would not be completely lost on him.
He was human now. And it was all her fault. If she had not been so busy arguing with him and had just started working with him maybe she would have been with him when Lilith had attacked. She may not have been able to stop it, but at least maybe it would have been her instead. Castiel was on a more important mission than a now lowly fallen angel.
"Shhh Cas," she continued to murmur as she looked down at him. "Try and open your eyes for me." With his eyes closed and his pale complexion he almost looked dead to her; if she hadn't been holding him and felt his breathing she wouldn't have known any better. Just the sight of him was enough to scare her out of her wits.
A wet drop appeared on Cas's face and her brow furrowed as she paused in her stroking. Another drop... "What-" she started to question before another drop fell.
She looked at the others in the room, almost as if alarmed. "Wha-" The mysterious origin of the wet clear substance on the other angels face was revealed when she looked at the others. A few tears escaped her eyes and she felt one trail to her lips. Her tongue darted out and she tasted the salty tear. Another sharp intake of breathe.
Anna looked at the faces confused. Was she...crying?

Dean leaned closer to Castiel. He heard the words, but they didn't really make him feel any different. He couldn't manage to forgive himself, no matter what angels said or didn't say.
"Cas......" his words trailed off. He didn't know how to argue with a fallen angel. Castiel was human. Dean knew about pain, injuries and blood drawn during a battle-but Castiel-. While he may have known about it, this pain had to be far worse than any he'd encountered before.
Dean's eyes snapped back to Sam. His brother was right. They were wasting time. He knew Zachariah would come, but they had to do something.
"Anna, Sam is right. While we wait for Zachariah, we have to try and do something for him. I know he's not going to be happy about it, but-."
Dean took a deep breath. He wanted to pick Castiel up and throw him onto the bed, but he knew that hurting him and scaring him wouldn't do any good.
"Sam, help me move him. Anna, you have to keep him calm. You have to persuade him that we're going to help him."
For the first time, Dean looked at Anna. She was crying. He felt awful. She was terrified for Castiel. Anna knew how to feel human emotions, and Dean could pretty much read the terror on her face right now.
"Anna, we can help him. He isn't going to die." He turned Anna's face up to his. "But you have to help us help him. And we've got to get the bleeding stopped. Now I don't want to scare him, and I don't want to hurt him anymore. But he needs help-and right now, we're the only ones here until Zachariah gets here."
Dean kept his eyes on Anna, silently pleading with her. He thought back to the one night they'd shared together. He knew she had all the compassion in the world.
"You can help us. You can sit with him. Just help us get him into bed so we can get the blood stopped. We'll make him more comfortable."
Dean was ready to go loot hospitals for morphine. Castiel needed pain killers-and Ibuprofen surely wasn't going to cut it.

Sam stood stock still in his place as he watched the angel literally get closer and closer to death by the very moment. It wasn’t that he didn’t think that the other angel wouldn’t show up he just didn’t know exactly if he would show up in enough time for it to be worth it for Castiel.
“I…I do not…wish to…die…I”
Sam couldn’t even imagine the different emotions that were going through the angel especially since Sam was pretty certain the angel had never known what it felt like to be so close to dying and he was now getting a crash course in the feeling. Sam allowed Anna the space she needed to do what little she could do for the angel but Sam knew it wouldn’t be enough; she wasn’t trained to deal with an injury of this magnitude. Hell Dean and Sam were trained and Sam didn’t think they were capable of dealing with it. As Sam watched the white towel Anna placed against the wound on Castiel’s back immediately darken to a crimson mess he knew they had wasted enough time and that he needed to do something now or they would be burying the angel within the hour and Sam wouldn’t let his brother loose someone else he considered to be a friend among other things.
Cas had pulled his brother from hell; something he hadn’t been able to do. Sam owed him.
Sam watched stunned as tears fell from Anna’s eyes and it clearly showed how much this was hurting her as well. Without waiting for the angel to give his brother permission for them to help Castiel Sam fell into action as he tossed the comforters off the bed behind them on to the floor to make sure they had room to do what they could for Castiel.
Sam was obviously bigger then his brother and there for exceedingly larger then Castiel and he could no doubt pick up the angel and maneuver him on to the bed without much trouble and without waiting for permission or for them to waste any more time Sam made his way quickly over to where Castiel lay against Anna. His eyes locked with the red headed angel for a moment a look of determination mixed with a silent apology in his eyes as he pulled Castiel away from her arms and as carefully as he could dragged the angel to the bed and maneuvered him on to the bed so that the angel was laying on his stomach. Wasting no time Sam removed the rest of the angel tattered white shirt so that they had full access to angry wound upon his back. There was blood everywhere and it took Sam by surprise how much blood the angel had lost and had been able to remain conscious.
Sam grabbed a towel nearby the bed as well as the peroixide from the medical kit and drenched the towel in it knowing they had to get pressure and disinfectant on the wound as quickly as possible.
“Dean get something for the pain,” Sam ordered not taking his eyes off the angel as he silently apologized for what he was about to do as he firmly pressed the drenched towel against the wound using his weight to hold down the angel and apply a great deal of pressure to the wound in a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding some what.

Zachariah had just seen the paramedics arrive for Mrs Collins when he heard Anna's summons. There was a lingering trace of fear in her voice that told him she had found something terrible. Knowing that he could do nothing more in Connecticut, the angel left to join his sister.
He landed outside the motel door, surprised to see a demon standing near the doorway. More importantly, Zachariah could see his brother was in pain. Blood was everywhere, and there were only lingering traces of Castiel's grace. The other angel wouldn't have fallen -- not willingly. His condition suggested that someone had used a rather violent form of persuasion. Zachariah brushed past the demon and joined Anna and the Winchesters at Cas's side.
"Castiel," He said softly, "how did this happen?"
Zachariah might not have been sure what had how the other angel had come to be in this state, but his brother's condition was severe, and it was obvious that Castiel would not be around to answer the question if his vessel was not healed immediately. Gently Zachariah touched his hand to his brother, letting his angelic power flow into his subordinate's body and begin healing his wounds.

Castiel had lost far too much blood. He was not familiar with the sensation but he knew that the simple fact that his eyes refused to open was testament enough to the fact that he was indeed dying. The body of a human was a fragile thing; he had known this as an angel and he was now feeling every sensation of exactly how fragile.
Castiel’s eyes remained closed as he focused on the sensation of Anna’s hand traveling through his matted hair. It was an odd sensation and there was a part of him that struggled with the show of compassion and the emotion it brought about but he was too weak to fight and there was a large part of him that needed the closeness; that needed the comfort she was able to offer him amongst the chaos his life had been dropped into. He wished to believe her words when she told him he would not die but he could not. He could feel what she could not and he knew some how he was very much aware that with every moment he was closer to dying then he had ever dreamt he would be. He had stared Uriel in the face as he had all but wielded the Sword of Lucifer at him and he had not flinched in the least bit; but he was weak…his body was weak his vessel his own now and it was shattered beyond repair Castiel feared.
"Cas I'm going to need to apply some pressure to your back. We have to stop the bleeding if you want to live."
Castiel heard her words yet he did not even begin to comprehend them until pain sliced through his back like he had not felt since Lilith had plunged the dagger into his back the very first time. The pain was renewed and fresh and Castiel had to bury his face below him in order to stop the cry of pain which threatened to tear from him as his body jerked in protest to the extreme anguish which consumed him.
Castiel’s hands tore into the carpet below himself and Anna in an attempt to focus his anguish elsewhere but nothing seemed to help as the pain ripped through him as Anna held the towels pressed against him her grip strong and the pain borderline unbearable.
“Stop…” Castiel groaned his voice laced with pain.
“Please…Anna…” He knew it was weak but he did not know how much longer he could continue to deal with the pain which literally fully consumed him.
For the briefest of moments Castiel was certain he had passed out. He had heard Anna plead with him to open his eyes and he had meant to reply to her but he had felt himself plunge into darkness. It was the sensation of him being torn from her grasp which sent Castiel crashing back into reality with a strangled cry of agony and fear. Castiel’s eyes snapped opened his sight clouded with stark red agony as his blue eyes were clouded with absolute panic and pain as he struggled frantically against the grip that held on to him.
His body protested at his jerky movements as fresh torrents of blood fell from the wound upon his back as Castiel attempted weakly to fight away the grasp of his captor.
“You are now an outcast, Castiel. We will say your name no more in Heaven, and you will never return here or see any of us again. God wants nothing more to do with you.”
Castiel weakly fought as he was pushed upon the bed pain tearing through him like he had never imagined.
“You betrayed us…”
“No,” Castiel moaned desperately trying to push himself away from the hands which held him into place. The sensation was all too familiar to the nightmare he had suffered not so long ago. They would tear his wings from him and cast him into hell he could feel the sensation of his brother holding him into place so that Zachariah could come for him.
“Anna…” Castiel’s voice was desperate and pleading as he sought out the angel who had sworn to him she would not allow such a thing to happen. She was his only weapon against those that would seek the damn him. He wanted his Father; wanted what had been taken from him and he wanted the silence and the pain and the feelings of it all to be silent.
“Stop!” Castiel’s voice weakly demanded as his body struggled to fight against the iron hold which held him against the bed his own hands clinging to the sheets beneath him his knuckles turning as white as the now crimson sheets had once been.
An agonizing scream of pure agony and unadulterated panic tore its way from Castiel’s lips as his body bucked under the pressure Sam placed upon him as a fire burned its way through his damaged back. He was certain now that he had died and this was what hell felt like as demons and all manner of things tore there way at him. There was no other way pain such as this could exist anywhere else but hell.
With the pain there was suddenly soemthing else and Castiel forced his eyes to open and he could not fight the tremble of fear that tore through him as his eyes took in the sight of Zachariah. But instead of the continual pain that ripped through him Castiel felt the faintest sensation of calm rush through him and he allowed his eyes to slip shut as unconciousness gripped him and pulled him under while Zachariah worked upon him.

Anna barely listened as the two brothers talked about what would be best to save Cas. Her thoughts were too busy willing Zachariah to hurry up as Castiel pleaded with her to leave his back alone. "I'm so sorry Cas," she murmured more to herself absentmindedly as she closed her eyes, a few tears tumbling out of the corners. 'Please Father, save your child.'
"Anna, we can help him. He isn't going to die," she heard Dean say. She was fully broken from her reverie when he turned her face up to his. "But you have to help us help him. And we've got to get the bleeding stopped. Now I don't want to scare him, and I don't want to hurt him anymore. But he needs help-and right now, we're the only ones here until Zachariah gets here."
The silent plea in his eyes was easily readable and she started to nod when she caught movement in the corner of her eye. Sam walked over, looking determined, mixed with a silent apology in his eyes. As if reading his mind she started to shield the angel. "No," she started, before he pulled Castiel away from her arms.
“SAM.” She quickly scrambled to her feet as Sam moved the angel to the bed. A towel still clenched in her hand, she threw it to the ground as she started to make her way towards the taller Winchester. Anna felt a pair of hands wrap around her arms and tried to pull away. "He's going to hurt him," she hissed at Dean.
She watched as Cas started to fight Sam and felt the smallest of relief when he was placed safely on the bed. There was a tearing noise and she saw the poor remains of Castiel’s tattered shirt flapping at his sides. Anna heard him call her name and switched her attention from shooting daggers at Sam to looking at Cas’ face worriedly.
As he continued to fight Sam she had to hold herself back from breaking the hold on her and lashing out at the Winchester. She had never liked people who grabbed things. She heard Sam tell Dean to get something for Castiel’s pain before he pressed a drenched rag of some liquid from a bottle, hydrogen peroxide from the looks of it, against the wound.
The terrifying, blood curdling scream sliced through her like the sword had Uriel. Castiel’s body bucked under the pressure Sam placed upon him and she finally jerked herself out of Dean's grasp and quickly went forward helping to hold him still before he added to the damage. Anger tore through her as the pain went through Cas's and she snarled at Sam.
Anna was livid but she felt her anger lessen as Zachariah appeared and quickly made his way to Cas's side. "How did this happen?" Before she could respond Zachariah touched his hand to the broken figure on the bed and she saw the signs of healing.

Dean wasn't sure who he hated hurting more-Castiel or Anna. But in one swift motion, they were both hurting. Instantly, his hands reached out to grasp Anna.
"It needs to be done." He was ignoring Sam's request to get something for Castiel's pain. He needed to make sure Anna wasn't going to attempt to tear his brother away from the injured angel. "Anna, please, just try and see Sam's trying to help."
Dean flinched backwards as the scream Castiel let out echoed through the room. The scream cut through him, chilling his bones. He couldn't imagine how bad it had hurt Anna.
"Anna!" He tried to keep his hold on her, but the female angel had pulled free from his grasp. She was gone to Castiel's side before he could reach out for her again. It was probably for the best, Dean knew Anna would be happier with Cas. He supposed now was the time to go get those painkillers Sam had requested. Now where he was going to get something stronger enough, God only knew-.
But suddenly, Zachariah was there. It was the first time Dean had seen the high tiered angel since their meeting in his fantasy world. For a long moment, he could only stand and look back and forth between the group. He figured if angelic powers were in order, Castiel was in good hands.
"Sam." Dean stepped over to his brother and tapped him lightly on the arm. "Stop. Let Zachariah handle this."
Dean was momentarily worried. He knew the angels had issues with Sam at times, but right now he hoped the only thing that would matter to them would be helping Castiel and not giving Sam a lecture on messing with demons. He watched, saying nothing as he waited for the angels to try and sort out what was happening.

The blood had soaked through the rag Sam ahd held against Castiel's back within moments. The rate it had soaked through was rather alarming and Sam silently hoped that they ahdn't waited too long to attempt to help the angel. As much blood as he lost Castiel still put up one hell of a fight and Sam did his best to hold the angel down without causing him any more damage.
The scream that tore from the angel was almost enough to cause Sam to pull away but he knew he had to keep his stance if Castiel was to have nay chance at surviving; his eyes flickered over to where his brother held Anna and he was more then thankful Dean had a well enough hold on her or else Sam was pretty certain she would have torn into him by now.
Sam's eyes locked with Anna's for a brief moment as she tore herself away from Dean and made her way to Castiel's side the snarl she tossed Sam's way enough to make him shift away from her slightly but he continued to hold the towel upon the wound not willing to let go before they had done soemthing to help Castiel.
Sam had been so focused on trying to help the angel that he ahd been completly oblivious to the arrival of the other angel until he felt Dean's hand upon his shoulder. Sam's eyes met Dean's for a moment before he allowed the towel to fall from his grasp and he moved himself away from Castiel and the high tiered angel.
Sam wasn't stupid when it came to the knowledge that the angels wanted nothing to do with him but he figured right now they had other things to worry about aside from him...but just the same he would keep his distance. Sam's eyes locked with Ruby as he took several steps away standing nearer to the door as he watched Zachariah lay his hands upon Castiel's now unconcious form and he could only hope that they hadn't been too late.

Anna watched silently as Zachariah stood over Castiel, his hands outstretched; his hands saving Cas. She felt a bit bitter. There had been a time when she was actually useful.
Her gaze wandered to the two brothers who had retreated from the collection of angels. Sam headed towards the door to stand near Ruby and she looked away again.
Taking a few steps closer to the motel bed Anna looked at Cas as he lay there on his stomach. A few more steps and she had moved to where his head rested. Her hand reached out and took his carefully. It could have just been her, but he felt cold to her touch and it was not as comforting as she thought it would have been; at least on her account.
She looked up and locked eyes with Dean for a moment before moving to look at Sam, then even Ruby. She didn't think she'd really said a word to the demon who had saved her at least twice.
Anna gave Cas's hand a small squeeze and looked back down at him, raising her other hand to brush his sweat-soaked hair off his face and forehead.

Zachariah moved his hand to rest on Castiel's forehead, relieved that he had arrived in time to save his brother. Castiel was a loyal angel, and a compassionate one. To have lost him would have been a devastating loss, both to the war effort and to Zachariah personally. The angel looked at the others in the room, aside from the demon it was clear that the others shared Zachariah's fondness for Castiel.
"I just came from his vessel's home, demons attacked the Collins family."
He waited a moment for the news to sink in. Whatever was going on, it was big. The longer they waited, the more time the demons had to do. . .whatever they were doing.
"I ask you again, what happened?"

Anna watched silently as Zachariah moved his hand to Castiel's forehead. She took a small step back to let him get closer but kept a hand in Cas's hair.
"I just came from his vessel's home, demons attacked the Collins family."
She felt anger mixed with guilt and sadness grip at her. Her family had died because of who she was...now Castiel's vessel had to suffer with his family being attacked as well. Anna didn't dare to ask the outcome. Not many humans survived attacks from demons. These particular humans didn't seem to stand a chance in her mind when she looked back down at Cas. If an angel had it's grace stolen by this particular batch of demons it didn't lend much hope to the outcome.
"I ask you again, what happened?"
When no one talked Anna spoke up, "They took his grace." A small frown flinted across her face. She kept her gaze trained on the unconscious angel's face. "That is all we managed to get out of him before you came. He...he could not heal...he's human."
Silently Anna would admit that she had longed for another angel to fall; for a companion in the silence. She never wished for it in this way. Not by forcible removal. Not by demons. Not Cas. Her steely resolve she had pulled on when Zachariah appeared wavered for an instant before she straightened. She remembered her promise. She would not let him be damned. He would get his grace back. God would not let him suffer.
It was all damned Lucifer's fault. Those damn demons. Her eyes flicked up to look at Sam and Ruby and she felt anger begin to burn at her. She had not paid Sam much heed since they last met but it was obvious his dark ways had continued. Though she was not a pure angel anymore she could still sense the demon blood in him. It was as foul as Ruby's.
Removing her hand from Castiel's hair she stared at Sam, her eyes narrowing. Demon blood was demon blood. "They stole his grace," she repeated.
In a flash she was before Sam and she lifted her hand. A loud crack was heard in the room and she felt a faint stinging in her palm from the contact. "Get out," she said. Her voice had turned low and deadly and the look in her eyes suggested the many ways she contemplated killing him. "I know what you do. Get the hell out. Get away from him," she snarled once more.
Her hand lashed out one more time. Her nails connected in the strike and she curled her fingers back to her chest. "Get out before I do what Castiel has not." Anna's gaze shifted to Ruby for a moment before tracking back on Sam.

Sam had stood silently by the door and watched as the angel had used its powers to heal Castiel's vessels body. A part of him felt cheated that apprently it was ok for angels to use their powers as they wished but him and his powers were obviously destined for hell...but then again his power came from a demon and he was pretty sure the powers of an angel didn't.
Sam still couldn't believe that Castiel was human it seemed like such a foreign concept thinking of how emotionless and damn near robotic Castiel always seemed in regards to his being entirely and now for him to be human was going to be soemthing else entirely. Sam listened to Anna as she explained what Castiel had managed to say before passing out and that was really the long and short of it they hadn't been able to get anything else out of the angel...or well ex-angel.
He took a step to say something but stopped when Anna was usddenly before him in a blink of an eye. He felt the sting against his face before the sharp crack of her hand connecting with his cheek sounded through the room and Sam could do nothing more but stare at her his eyes clouded with confusion and his face looking utterly crestfallen. He had only been trying to help! If they had just left Castiel to bleed in the corner of the room he would have died long before Zachariah had the chance to show up. Anna's face clearly expressed her anger and Sam took a hesitant step back as he was rather certain the fallen angel was on the verge of killing him.
"Anna I was only..."
"I know what you do. Get the hell out. Get away from him."
Sam's own words failed him as he took in hers. She knew...she knew about the demon blood.
Sam never took his eyes off of Anna as he took another step back in silence not sure what to even begin to make out of how he felt. If Anna knew about the demon blood that meant so did the other angels and it was only a matter of time before one of them decided to bring his brother up to date on his extracurricular activities.
Without another word he turned silently from Anna grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair and stormed out of the room slamming the door behind him. He had no idea where he was going or what he was going to do but he was getting out as he had been asked too; as Sam knew more then one of them in that room felt he should.

Dean swallowed hard at Zachariah's words. The demons were going after Castiel's vessel now? What did the demons want with them? He wondered just what Castiel's vessel had been like that they were of such high value to demons.
Human. The word sunk into Dean. Castiel was human. After everything he had done for Dean as an angel, now he was just as human as Dean. The thought made him feel physically sick. He didn't want Castiel human-he wanted him to be an angel.
But his thoughts were suddenly jerked away when he saw Anna nearly fly to Sam. Her hand moved up and slapped his face, Dean nearly feeling the sting on his own skin.
"Anna-. Sam!"
Dean's head turned in amazement between the two. As quickly as Anna had moved to him, Sam was out the door. Dean had no idea what Anna was talking about-knowing what Sam did and all. But he didn't want to hear it from Anna, he wanted it from Sam.
"Sam-. Sam!" Dean felt himself move to the door, to try and call his brother back. But as soon as he was out of the door, Dean froze. For some reason, he couldn't bring himself to follow Sam. He felt torn-torn between following after his brother who had been so different since he'd come back-and leaving the angels who had saved him from the pit.
Dean let the door to the motel room fall shut behind him. He stood on the sidewalk, staring blankly at the Impala before him. Was he really having this kind of a debate as to whether or not he should follow his brother? What was so strong it was keeping him from following after the brother he'd always protected-for that matter, the brother he'd sold his soul for.
Dean dropped down onto the sidewalk and merely sat. He lowered his head to focus only on the gravel. Sam was his brother. The angels had saved him. And Sam was not on their good side. So what side did that put him on? Who exactly was he supposed to defend at the moment? No one was really being honest with him. Sam knew something, Anna knew something, and he was pretty sure Castiel and Zachariah knew as well. So the question was, who was going to tell him?

Ruby stood quietly surveying the room, not much liking the situation she had been placed in now. Okay so Sam had called her, but she wasn't much for this angel convention going on. Her gaze then focused on Anna who was staring at them much to intently for Ruby's liking, even if she had saved Anna, now she was an Angel again, she was still uncomfortable to be around.
She was about to ask her what was wrong, but the Angel spoke first, confirming what she knew, that Castiel was no longer an angel. Then Anna was up and had moved in front of Sam and before Ruby could move to stop her, she'd slapped him. Well that was something unexpected, but a frown crossed her face at Anna. She knew then that Anna knew about Sam, but couldn't stop the younger brother from storming out the room. Great, now she felt even worse, and thought about her exit.
"He was only trying to help Anna, we all are!" Ruby stated a little anger in her voice, feeling a little protective over Sam, and moved so she was in front of Anna, only glancing to the side once as Dean followed his brother out the room. Obviously his brother didn't know about Sam yet, but she was no doubt he would soon if Anna knew, and she didn't want to stick around when he found out. Ruby crossed her arms as she matched Anna gaze, before glancing at the other angel and Castiel before back at Anna again with almost a questioning look, as if challenging Anna.
