Missouri had gone down to the cafeteria to get herself some hot water for her tea. She'd eventually ended up getting something to eat figuring it would be a while yet before Sam returned to his room what with all the tests he had to undergo.
She made her way to the elevator and traveled back to Sam's floor before wandering down the corridor. The whining halls finally lead back to the youngest Winchester's room and she went inside. It took her a moment to register there was no one in the room when she came in. "Sammy you awake for company honey?" she asked as she walked to the end of the bed and lair her coat lightly on the table that had been pushed there.
Upon hearing no response she frowned, "Sammy?" she asked looking up. Normally she'd at least hear the boy snoring softly if he was asleep and couldn't voice a reply. She froze when she saw the twisted, empty sheets. There was no sign of the injured boy or his older brother. She didn't think they were stupid enough to leave the hospital all together. Something must have happened.
Bustling out of the room she made her way to the nurses station. There was no one around which caused Missouri to feel even more uneasy at the missing Winchester boys.

The pain which knotted through Sam Winchester’s body had almost become a normal feeling after the last several weeks of nothing but pain. But even so he groaned in protest of it as he groggily fell out of the comforting grasp of unconsciousness. His eyes stared up at the blinding white ceiling for a moment and he was completely lost to where the hell he was or what the hell had happened. The world around him was eerily silent and he had yet to decide if that was a good thing or even more so un-nerving.
He shivered slightly the cold air of the hallway licking along his exposed skin and causing the blood which soaked the medical scrubs he was dressed in to stick to his skin. The pain was ever present but his current situation was a total black hole. He forced himself up on the gurney slightly his eyes scanning the empty hallway giving evidence to the fact that he was indeed alone.
The stale air of the hospital immediately assaulted his senses and the flickering lights which cascaded down the hall brought his current situation crashing down around him. He had woken up; he had woken up just in time to be attacked by the demon that had possessed his brother’s body. But Dean had been there, he had shown up and he had killed the demon…the Yellow Eyed Demon had been there. He had wanted a deal….a deal with Dean in order to get Sam out of his crossroads deal.
Dean had been more then willing to deal with yellow eyed son of a bitch in order to save Sam. Sam had pleaded with Dean though; he had flat out begged him not to do it. But Sam had passed out; the struggle to stay conscious as the Yellow Eyed Demons telekinetic assault on him becoming too much for his already broken down body.
The solitary of the hallway though all but screamed back at Sam and caused his frame to tremble more fiercely as he forced himself into a sitting position his back leaning against the cold wall of the hallway. He was alone; Dean had left him to go and work with the yellow eyed demon. Dean was going to make the deal Sam had made for his brother into a joke by dealing with the solitary creature that had destroyed their family from the beginning.
His entire body screamed in pain as he forced himself to remain upright his eyes snapping form one end of the hall to the other for any sign of Dean but he knew; deep down he knew what his brother had done. The anger at the entire situation got the better of Sam and his entire body literally trembled under the weight of the anger. His breathing came out in short gasps. A creeping pain sliced through his mind the blinding white hot pain very similar to that of a vision as his hands dug into the bed sheets sweat glistening down his face mixed with a trail of blood that fell from his nose.
The world around Sam went silent and in the very next second it exploded around him in a shower of shattered glass the noise seemingly screaming through the hospital hallway.

There was a crash from down a hall nearby. In the silence of the ward it echoed and Missouri took off in the direction of the sound. Her shoulders were hunched slightly together, ready if anything should be lurking around the corners. "Hullo," she called, eying the empty paths warily.
Turning another corner the woman found herself heading for a dead end. Time to try another way. The silence continued eerily as she went back and turned right instead of going straight as she had the first time. "Sam? Dean?" When she received no response she continued down the hall. She glanced in doorways to see sleeping patients or empty freshly made beds.
"This is ridiculous," she muttered before puling out her cell phone. At the moment she didn't really give a care if phones were not allowed. Pressing a few buttons she dialed the older Winchester. The ominous ringing sounded loud as she continued to walk, watching the dark corners and doorways.
When the voice mail came around she glared at the air before leaving a hurried message for Dean; The general gist of which could be summed up to 'get your ass to the hospital before I whack you with a spoon'.
Missouri was rounding another corner as she pressed a few more buttons on her phone before hearing a crunch. Lifting her foot up she saw glass and quickly looked up. "Sammy?" Dropping her gigantic bag she hurried over to the bloodied Winchester child. "SAM. Sammy!"

The world around Sam which seemed to have been so silent mer moments ago seemed to scream out all around him. Pain laced through his mind and he had to slam his eyes shut if only to attempt to block out the pain. Waves of emotions cascaded from him as the blood flow from his nose continued staining the front of the hospital shirt with blood.
The Winchester family never caught a break, no matter how many people they saved or how much good they tried to do it was always one thing after another that continued to shot them down and it had finally snapped within Sam. He had given his soul to save his brother. Yes he had picked Dean over himself…Dean was the more useful soldier in the battle against the Yellow Eyed Demon and if Sam could do something to help he would have and he had and now it would all be for not.
Despair and anguish quickly gave way to anger as Sam forced his eyes open. His eyes blazed at the fluorescent lights which traveled down the hospital hallway and in the very next second the lights exploded plaguing the hallway in darkness.
Sam’s breathing hitched in his chest for a moment his eyes glazed as pain tore through his mind and he collapsed back down upon the bed; blood pooling from his nose and ears as he stared up at the darkened ceiling.

There was an unhealthy chill in the air as Missouri made her way towards Sam. She froze and stared at him. If there was one thing she trusted it was her abilities to feel around her and she was not liking what she was feelin; not one bit.
Next thing she knew she saw Sam stir and his eyes snapped open. There was a surge and the lights suddenly exploded leaving the two of them in darkness. Missouri threw her arms over her head to protect it from the falling glass before staring grimly over at Sam. What had that boy done. What could he do. He shouldn't be able to do anything like that. His power hadn't been like this last time she'd seen the boy.
Looking around the dark hall her eyes started to adjust from the light in a nearby hall. It wasn't much but she could make out a dark shape ahead where Sammy had been. Missouri heard a sound and saw the figure collapse again. "Oh lordy," she said, looking once more at the darkened ceiling before walking briskly over to him.
A plan was formulating in her mind. She just needed to get him up. "Sammy? Sammy. Sammy I need you to wake back up. I know it hurts but I can't get you up on the gurney if you don't help me."

Sam’s eyes stared up at the darkened ceiling for what felt like an eternity. The red glow of the emergency lights from down the hallway bathed the area in an eerie hue of crimson. His entire body was trembling and it felt as if every nerve ending he had was on fire and yet he felt drawn into a trance of sorts his breathing labored yet only able to stare straight above him.
He felt himself slip in and out of consciousness the reality around him blending in with the recesses of his mind but two things remained the same through it all: the pain and the knowledge that his brother was no longer there. As a voice filtered through the air around him Sam’s eyes snapped open with a panicked intake of air. His breathing calmed slightly as his wide eyes locked on the face of Missouri.
“Missouri?” Sam asked his voice barely above a whisper as he stared back at her the air shuddering within his chest as sweat prickled against his pale forehead.
“We have to find Dean…we have to stop him,” Sam protested his voice cracking under the pressure of merely talking. He attempted to push himself up once more but the pain which slammed through him immediately halted his movements and had him focusing on breathing through the pain.

"Yes Sammy. It's me honey," she said kindly to the boy as he began to respond. Seeing him bathed in the red light made her think of the recent past when Sam had ended up in her guest room covered in blood.
Her grip tightened, helping to hold him up, as he fought the pain and became more conscious. He began to talk of Dean and she frowned. "Let's get you fixed up then we'll deal with Dean."
Sam's concern over his brother made her wonder what exactly had happened earlier. There was no way he could be in the condition just by making the lights explode, which was another matter she'd be talking to the boy about. "Don't you fight me on this nuther," she added, knowing he was probably going to repeat his claim to find his brother. "We can't find him if you're passed out now can we?"
