Alexis's eyes stayed on Jon as he moved across the room and to her side. They fell shut as his lips made contact with her skin.
She heard herself groan slightly as he picked her up. Her neck ached where the needle had broken her skin. The blood in this syringe must have been older. It was weakening her far worse than the other blood she'd had.
Her head fell against his chest as he carried her up the stairs. Her eyes managed to open only slightly as he laid her down on the bed.
As Jon kissed her, Alexis opened her mouth to speak but the words didn't come. She didn't want to stay in bed, but she was far too weak to even try to get back up. She let her had fall sideways on the pillow and dozed off.

Killian’s eyes had stayed locked upon Alexis as she struggled to speak in his defense. She was truly not doing well and Killian could only hope that whoever the current douche bag was that occupied the store he wasn’t there to cause her any more trouble because she didn’t seem as if she could deal with any more in her current state of play. Killian’s eyes narrowed as the man with the gun came into view and knelt down by Alexis the gun now put away and Killian took that as a sign that he could lower his arms. He watched for a moment with curiosity as the man placed a kiss upon Alexis’s forehead and he wondered if he was a vampire as well…but then again he highly doubted a vampire would have needed a gun to get his point across.
“I was about to do that,” he grumbled to himself as the man carried Alexis up the stairs…ok well he was going to attempt to do it anyhow.
When the man had returned downstairs minus Alexis Killian had been standing by the far window of the shop staring out into the street attempting to sort out his next course of action. With Prince Charming afoot Killian didn’t much think Alexis would be in need or wanting him around any longer though he still felt bad up and leaving her in her current state…friggin conscious. In all technicality she had killed him so he didn’t owe her much…save that she had set about making amends rather genuinely before hell had all but broken out in the shop.
“You sit, tell me exactly what happened and don't think about hiding anything."
Killian’s eyes narrowed as he turned from the window and set his eyes on the man across the room. The man who seemed to be continuing on pushing the wrong buttons as far as he was concerned.
“I’m not a puppy,” Killian snapped in response to the command that he sit; his arms crossed over his chest as he glared at the man. True he technically was a 17 year old but in actuality he had more life experience then this man could possibly know about and truth be told he was getting rather tired of people bossing him around in this life.

Jon realized he probably hit a sore spot with the other guy, it hadn't been the best introduction in the world and he could tell there was something different with this one. He slid the pistol into another part of his waistline so his jacket would conceal it.
"Listen, please sit down and tell me what happened. I didn't mean to get angry like that but I'm not sure you know Alexis like I do and to see her in that state I knew something was wrong. I just want to know who the person responsible for this was and how to find them. I don't even care who you are and if you don't want to tell me that's fine. I just want to make sure this never happens again. I'm Jon Brunner by the way."
Jon held out his hand but he wasn't sure if the other man would shake it or not. This guy probably wanted to strangle him either way. Most people didn't care to be held at gunpoint.

"Oh I'm pretty sure I know Alexis much better then you think," Killian replied hsarply still not entirely pleased with the guy who had made himself known and into the hero of the hour. Seriously this life.....worst yet and Killian had had his fair share of shit lives.
"Killian Reyonolds," he offered as he walked away from the window and leaved against the chair across from the man...half out of spite and half out of he really had no need to sit. He eyed the man's out stretched hadn for a moment and then stared back at the man opting not to shake his hand...he figured he was justified since not 5 minutes ago the man had had a gun to his head.
"Mary Harper was the one who attacked Alexis though she isn't going by that name any more since Mary Harper died over 300 years ago. I don't know who she is now and what she is capable of or where she is. I haven't had anything to do with her since before I di...moved away years ago," Killian explained in his own round about way.
He wished Alexis had faired better he ahd much more enjoyed the company of the vampire who had technically killed him tot he knight in shinning armor...he had never much had tolerance for men like that in any of his lives. Suppose some things never change.
"Mary wanted to talk to me and she needed Alexis out of the way...that was when the dead mans blood came into play."

Jon put his hand down when he realized the man who introduced himself as Killian Reynolds had no intent to shake it.
"First please allow me to apologize Mr. Reynolds but you must understand how it looked to me when I came in. I can't demand an apology but some acknowledgement in your understanding is all I ask. For now I'll skip the pleasantries and small talk and get straight into what I'd like to know and I'll try to answer any questions you may have. How do you come to know Mary Harper and Alexis? How could that other woman have been around for over 300 years and why would she suddenly come looking for you? I can't imagine your far past your twenty first birthday. I'm also going to assume you know of Alexis's 'condition' and how the dead man's blood came to affect her that way."
Jon usually preferred a nice chat before getting down to business but now he was angry and he didn't care if the devil himself was in that Mary Harper but he was going to find her and make her regret it all.
His mind drew back to Killian as he set his plans aside. He'd need what ever information he could get before going out. It'd always been the way he worked. Jon listened intently to everything Killian had to say but the rest of him wanted nothing more than to be upstairs with Alexis.

“Killian’s fine. My dad’s name was Mr. Reynolds,” he corrected Jon who had started off calling him Mr. Reynolds. Hell by now he was his father’s age ten times over but he still wasn’t old.
“Oh yeah no totally I always make a practice of pulling my gun on people before I get full stock of the situation it what makes me have such an electric personality,” Killian grumbled in response to the man’s explanation of why exactly he had all but blown Killian’s brains against the wall. Which in truth would have been a new way to die; but as much as his current life was sucking he preferred to live more than a few hours as his previous life was example of that.
“I grew up around Mary Harper…a long time before she went bat shit crazy of course.”
Alexis
Now that was a much more interesting story and Killian’s eyes studied the man for a moment as he weighed his options of whether or not he should fill in Mr. Brunner on how exactly it was he knew the woman he “loved” and how he came to be in the shop in the first place. With a shrug of his shoulders Killian decided the man had asked for answers after all.
“Now me and Alexis are more of a sordid affair you could call it. I came to know Alexis a few nights ago; we had a rather…intimate encounter I guess you could call it. Hell I know I took it rather personally what with her all but tearing my throat out and all,” Killian explained his voice laced with a certain amount of darkness that he still felt by the whole situation even if himself and Alexis had done their best to pretend it hadn’t happened in the last few hours.
“As far as Mary Harper being 300 years old I believe pop culture would classify that as a vampire…sparkling not included of course. And Mary didn’t come looking for me I suppose she stumbled upon a bit of good luck by noticing me in the shop with Alexis and she saw fit to let herself back into my world. 17 actually…give or take,” Killian replied with a shrug as he sank down into the chair he had been leaning against his eyes staring back at the man across from him as he tried to figure out what exactly was his purpose.

Alexis woke up with a start. She realized she'd only been dozing off for a few minutes. She still felt weak, but her brain knew she didn't want to be up here. She wanted to get answers from Killian why this bizarre woman had randomly wandered into her store.
Slowly, Alexis pushed herself into a sitting position. She gradually forced her feet to the floor. Actual movement would was going to take a lot effort.
Alexis made herself stand. She waited a moment for her vision to steady and then made a few steps towards the door. It took her a few moments of holding onto the bed and then transfered to the door frame.
She tried to remind herself that she had to fight through this. Truthfully, she didn't have time to be laid up again. She was going to have to pretend she was healthy. She had business to do.
Alexis reached the end of the hallway and stopped for a moment. Her entire body might as well have been made out of led. Her neck ached and felt swollen to the touch.
Making her way through the living room, Alexis had to stop for a long moment to convince herself she really could go down the stairs. She wished she had the effort to take her boots off, but that was asking too much. Slowly, she made her way down one step at a time.
From the store, she could hear Jon and Killian talking. From the sound of it, Killian had just told the story of how they'd met. Great.
"We met in the cemetery." Alexis answered, slumping against the wall at the bottom of the stairs. "It was before I gave up on this whole vampire lifestyle."
She let herself slid to the floor. Resting her head on her knees, she glanced up at them.
"I tried to make it better."

"I really am sorry about that Killian, I guess it just comes with the job. Trust isn't something one can just dish out and I can take things a little to seriously."
He sat back in the chair a bit as he listened to what Killian's story on how he met Alexis went. He was surprised the man was still breathing, but whatever had transpired that night would be a tale in itself. He could hear it in Killian's voice that something had happened and he wasn't happy with Alexis.
"A three hundred year old vampire? Doesn't answer how you grew up around her, because I'm getting the feeling you're not a vampire and if you are I mean no offense. Really? Only seventeen? Again something does seem a little off because while a seventeen year old hanging out in a cemetary is possible you don't seem the type."
Jon heard footsteps coming down the stairs, Alexis came around the corner and slumped against the wall. The dead man's blood had taken a lot out of her. He got up to help Alexis into a chair, but now he was curious as to how she made it better. There were a lot of gaps in the story he needed to figure out and as of yet he hadn't found anything that would lead him to this Harper woman.
"How about we start from the beginning where you two met and go on from there."

Alexis let Jon help her up from the floor and into the nearby chair. Now that she was downstairs, she was wishing she was still upstairs. She was exhausted and seriously needed sleep. She tried to push the idea from her head because she really didn't have time for this.
"It was before we met." Alexis turned her eyes to Jon. "Back when I was still doing the whole "real" vampire thing. I was bored, and I was wandering around in a cemetery not far from here. Killian was there, with a demon and another girl. I killed him."
Alexis looked at Killian. This wasn't exactly a story she was thrilled to be telling Jon, but she didn't have much choice. Besides, he knew she was a vampire who had killed before.
"Which brings a whole new question to rise as to how he's alive-here now."
She was too tired to try and relive the conversation she and Killian had shared a while ago. Alexis let her head fall backwards onto the chair and closed her eyes.

Killian’s head snapped over to the staircase as Alexis’s answered in regards to Killian sharing exactly how it was they had come to know each other. She had helped him he wasn’t belittling that…he was just filling in the spaces between help and dead. Killian opted to stay silent as Alexis filled Jon in as far as all of the details of their meeting in the graveyard went. It was rather cut and dry really once it was all laid out. His eyes locked with Alexis’s though as she brought up the question of how Killian was there in the shop and no longer in the land of the….well dead.
Killian’s eyes shifted down to the floor as he stared intently at his feet trying to find what words he could possibly use to explain what it was he was doing here at all. He owed them…no correction he didn’t really care for the guy but Alexis took a hit with the dead man’s blood and he figured he owed her an explanation as much as he really hated to go into this part of himself.
“I’m not a vampire and I’m not a zombie…just to get that out of the way right off the bat. I grew up in Salem Massachusetts and when I was 17 years old I um…I died,” Killian explained his eyes never moving from his feet.
“I didn’t stay dead…obviously. But when I tell you I’m human it’s because I am…I’m just cursed long and short of it is that whoever the curse is put upon has 9 lives…just like a cat,” Killian’s eyes raised finally from the floor to meet Alexis’s.
“After our little run in I’m on life number 6.”

Jon kept his face straight as he listened but inside his mind was screaming that even this was insane compared to what he'd seen.
"So you killed him?" he asked pointing at Alexis.
"But you came back to life because you're cursed?" he asked turning to pointing at Killian.
"This still doesn't explain what that other woman wanted or how she found you."

"That would be what happened." Alexis sighed as she forced herself to her feet. Crossing to Jon's side, she laced her fingers gently through his and rested her head against his shoulder.
"Killian, let's face it. We all started off wrong with each other. But let's just sort through all of that. This woman who was here-Mary-whatever her name is. She seems like bad news for all of us. I don't trust her. And I think if she sought you out just from walking passed the shop, she means something nasty."
Alexis had a very bad feeling about the other vampire. The woman who had been here before seemed dead set on doing nothing but causing trouble. It was far worse than anything Alexis had ever been in her life.
