Missouri was in fact in. She'd gotten rid of the last customer of the day an hour ago. Things were still mighty slow in Lawrence and Missouri usually spent her afternoons alone in the house reading or researching things. Feeling someone coming she put her book away upstairs and went into the kitchen making a fresh pitcher of lemonade.
She quickly walked to the door, opening it. She crossed her arms and tapped a foot at the man she saw. "Well if it isn't ole John Winchester in human form. Tired of me callin yuh voicemail?" she asked with a raised brow looking annoyed at her old friend. Truth be told she wasn't really angry it was just good to keep the Winchester men on their toes.

A grin went across John Winchester's face as the familiar voice that he so often heard in his voice mail, appeared at the door. "Well you know me Missouri, always the weary traveller." He said with a slight laugh. "Though I realise I should have been back sooner to visit you." He said with a slight nod.
"So how have you been?" He asked glancing around the neighbourhood then back at the woman in front of him. "Things haven't seem to change much." He commented.

"They haven't," Missouri said flatly. "Things have stayed boring and quiet around here. I'm actually beginning to miss you and all of your demon bringing troubles," she said, the smallest twitch of a smile appearing. "Good to know you realize your mistakes however."
She turned, leaving the door open. "Well come on in then. I expect you haven't been feeding yourself now have you?" she called over her shoulder. "I was just about to make some lunch."

"Well now I can't say no to anything from you." John grinned, walking into the house, "Food sounds great, and I promise I haven't bought any demons with me for a change. Its strictly visiting." He commented. He glanced around Missouri's house, the same as always, one of the only consistant things in his life. At least she was someone he could count on, apart from his sons of course, but then of course they had their own problems as well. Whilst along that train of thought, he asked Missouri his next question. "Have you heard from the boys recently?" He asked her curiously. He hadn't spoken to his sons much lately, he'd been to busy, and from what he'd heard, so had they.

"I most certainly have," she said as she continued to walk through the house. "In fact I called your idiot son last night. He should be on his way with Sammy sometime today I think," she said. She saw Tara come in and start talking. "I didn't think you were gone I thought you were out with that gun of yours. Just don't shoot my house up," she said giving them both looks. She knew how hunters could be. She'd had one a while back that had messed up her waiting room. It's easy to guess that he'd paid for the repairs.

John frowned slightly as Tara came in and started messing around with her gun, but his attention soon turned to Missouri when she mentioned his sons. He did feel protective over them, even when they weren't with him, especially when they weren't with him, as he couldn't see what they were doing. "Well thats some good news at least." He said with a small nod, glad that he would be able to see his boys soon. Though no doubt they would be mad as he had not returned a few of their calls, but he really had been busy. "Good gun." He commented with a slight nod to Tara.
"So got any food anywhere yet?" He grinned at Missouri.

Missouri gave John a knowing look. "If you give me ten minutes I'll have spaghetti made for you. I made meatballs yesterday afternoon and there's garlic bread I can throw in the oven and have ready by the time the pastas done." It seemed like Missouri was always cooking up something for the Winchesters. She just kept a stock of ready food most of the time on the off chance they'd show up.
"You go wash up and go back and wipe your boots before you set foot in my kitchen," she instructed him. She then went on to mutter something about males and how they never cleaned up as she readied the food.

Missouri took the napkin and quickly took it and placed it in her old beat up phone book next to the phone in the kitchen. "I don't believe I ever heard of a Jim West but then again I tend to stay out of the business of hunters as much as I can." She said as she dumped out the pasta into a strainer before placing it back on the stove in a pot of warmed sauce.
She walked over to a cabinet and pulled down a few plates, putting them on the table next to silverware she'd already taken out. "Well go ahead and dig in. I hope you like it honey," she said to Tara smilin a bit.
