Jon's truck rumbled smoothly beneath him as he amde his way down the back roads. He had found a hit in the news about mysterious disappearances and beheaded dogs being found in a small town in up state New York. He had found some legends about a mysterious creature called the goat man. He had found a few stories that involved a doctor and some kind of government splicing project. More than likely it was some creature that nobody had an explanation for. These Americans were always trying to blame something on their political leaders. He would need to stop at a gas station before he got there. He pulled into a self serve station and filled up his tank. He went inside and grabbed some coffee and something to eat before he left.
He turned towards the convenience store clerk, "So what do you know about these disappearances everyone has been talking about lately? Maybe you heard someone talking about it? I'm with the Washington Post", Jon pulled out a fake ID that said he was with the press. He pulled a small notebook and pen from his jacket pocket. It took all of five minutes to have wasted Jon's time with nothing new other than a few sightings. He walked outside and stood by his car drinking his coffee. This wasn't gonna be easy since apparently everyone knew about it and had different stories.

Bianca pulled the Mustang to a stop at one of the gas pumps and got out. She set about selecting fuel and setting the nozzle to fill. She leaned against the side of the car and sighed.
Her eyes were burning from lack of sleep. She'd been lucky to get away from that demon she'd encountered the previous night. She was going to have to put the vampire who had showed up on her Christmas Card list. She certainly owed her her life.
When the car was done fueling, Bianca headed into the store. She grabbed two cans of Red Bull and a bottle of Mountain Dew. Standing at the counter, she vaguely overheard the conversation in front of her. She wondered if he was after the sam legend she was.
Bianca paid for the gas and the caffine. She walked out to her car, catching sight of the man from the store leaning on a truck.
"Hey, are you in town to check out the dead pigs?"

Jon sipped his coffee before getting inside of his truck, he felt like he had been driving for days on end and it felt good to stretch his legs. He saw a young woman walking out of the store towards another car parked by a pump. Normally this wasn't out of the usual until she turned and asked him about some dead pigs. He figured there were two things going on before he answered, one, she overheard him and wanted to be in a newspaper article that would never be written or two, she knew something he needed to know.
"That depends, what would you happen to know about it?", he made sure to disguise his accent, something he had gotten pretty good at. He felt the comforting weight of the 9 millimeter in the waistband of his jeans, just in case. Any more nobody was sure who could trust who so he'd have to wait and see what her answer was.

Bianca pushed her hair back. She needed to grab a shower and change her clothes. Her experience in the woods hadn't gone exactly as she'd pleased. Not only had she not seen Bigfoot, but she'd nearly gotten herself killed by a demon.
"I overheard you inside." She told the man, motioning towards the store. "I was doing some investigating on my own last night, but I didn't have much luck."
Any luck was a better way of putting it, but she wasn't going to get into that now. Bianca opened a can of Red Bull and downed it in one swig.

Jon listened as she mentioned she had done some investigation of her own. He took in a few minute details about the girl as she talked, she seemed clearly tired and she looked like she had been out al night.
"What kind of investigation do you do if you don't mind my asking, Miss.... I'm sorry I didn't catch your name", he wondered if any name she might give him matched any hunter aliases he had gathered.
"Maybe we could help each other out more, you let me in on what you got and I'll tell you what I know."

"Pagliaro." Bianca threw the other two drinks into the car and slammed the door shut. " Bianca Pagliaro. It's nice to meet you Mr......?"
The man didn't look familiar to her. Bianca was fairly convinced that she'd never laid eyes on him before in her life. She was also not about to go into any fancy details of her abilities...curses....talents....whatever the hell they were.....right now.
"I keep up on a lot of the local legends." She told him as she walked towards him. "I got a call the other day that an old farmer out this way was losing pigs to a large creature. Rumor has it that it was Bigfoot, but I don't have any hard proof of that. Last night, I wasn't exactly successful in finding anything else out."
She causally left out the part that rather than come into contact with the legendary ape man, she'd encountered a very real demon and the friendliest vampire she'd ever met.

"Jon Brunner", he said in his smooth english accent, he knew that she did more than keep up with local legends if she had gone out on her own to find a creature that was slaughtering pigs. He figured that there was no point in hiding his accent from her.
"Here's what I've been hearing rumors about", he opened up the front door of his truck and leaned in to pull his laptop to him. He flipped up the screen and opened up the page he had found on the disappearances.
"I found this out when I was reading the news the other day about some people disappearing in the woods, decapitated pets, and when any bodies are found it's usually in pieces. So either your bigfoot has moved up it's killing habits or there is something else along with it. Either way I'm not sure this is something that would warrant you going into the woods by yourself. So if you don't mind my asking Ms. Pagliaro, what were you planning on doing if you had come across such a creature?", he still didn't know what she was doing, so hopefully she wasn't a demon. He quickly glanced at the silver knife handle sticking out just barely from under the front seat, if he was lucky he wouldn't need it.

Bianca leaned against the side of the truck. She watched with interest as Jon opened his laptop. She leaned over to observe the page, nodding thoughtfully.
"I hadn't seen those." She admitted, skimming the page for a date. It looked like they had just come in within the last few days-and she hadn't looked at her computer in over two weeks.
"I thought I put a bullet into a Bigfoot a few weeks back, but I may have been mistaken. Or else I was completely wrong and Bigfoot was never my pig murderer."
She tossed her hair over her shoulders and sighed. There was no point not to go into detail about her quest, so she just gave into it.
"I do a bit of work in paranormal investigations. I get a lot of calls for investigation. So that's what brought me into the woods last night. I met a few paranormal beings, but not the one I was looking for."
Bianca thought for a moment. Could the demon she'd encountered been behind all this?

"Put a bullet in it? I take it you aren't like the kind on television", for now he'd have to believe she was either a hunter or she just knew enough to know some. He opened up a file on his laptop and added 'Bianca Pagliaro' to the list of possible hunters.
"Well maybe we could help each other even further by finding this creature. I'm not exactly from around here, so any help would be useful", he was wondering what the other beings she was talking about were.
"Were these other paranormal beings something to worry about?", he was pretty sure he had anything he might need, he was somewhat prepared to handle everything up to demons. The only one he had managed to beat was a weak one compared to the others he had heard about. Jon hoped this job was simple, go in and eliminate monster then go back to a motel to relax before moving on to the next job.
"Are you doing anything now or would you like to get a drink so we can talk more? I haven't eaten much in the past few days."

"Nope, nothing like the ones on television. I returned my ape suit last month and my video camera is dead." Bianca gave him a sarcastic smile. She didn't believe any of the Bigfoot stuff she saw on television.
"I'm up for some help." She reached into the back pocket of her jeans and pulled out her sunglasses, slipping them on.
As he asked, her thoughts went back to the demon and the vampire. The vampire had seemed harmless enough. The demon........
"The demon certainly was." Bianca was sure he would think she was crazy for stating it, but there had been a demon whether he believed her or not. "The vampire seemed ok....or rather as ok as vampires get."
Eat? What was that? When was the last time she'd eaten? Thursday? Sunday?
"That sounds good. There's a place up the road, just on the left. It's called the Elkview Lodge. It's an old hotel converted into a bar. The food is good. Follow me?"

"I'm glad I ran into you then, this seems like it might be a handful. So I guess it's safe to say you're a hunter then?", he said smiling. Jon had only met a few other hunters before but they seemed amateurish, hopefully she knew what she was doing.
"A demon huh? Do you know how strong it was?", he opened up some files on demons and how to repel them.
"An ok vampire? Never heard of one of those before", he opened up another file on his computer about vampires. His laptop held everything he had until he got some time to move it into his journal.
"I guess I'll have to follow you, I'd probably get lost looking for it if you weren't here", he got into his truck and waited for a second as the engine turned over. He pulled on his sunglasses to keep the light out of his eyes as he drove.
"Ready when you are."

"Yes, I'm a hunter." Bianca wasn't sure how to classify her other talents. "As well as a few other little tricks."
"And no, I have no idea how strong this demon was. My guess would be it was a fairly lower level, but it was still a force to be reckoned with. She gladly would have cut my throat if the vampire hadn't showed up."
Bianca smiled at the man. It was a good thing they'd run into each other. It seemed they could be very beneficial to one another.
"Awesome, let's go then." Bianca walked back to the Mustang, slipped into the driver's seat and started the engine. She backed the car away from the gas pump and pulled up the exit, making a right turn. She followed the road for a mile or two down the tree lined road. The faded blue Lodge came into view on her left. She turned on her left turn signal and pulled into the parking lot.
Bianca grabbed her bag, got out of her car and walked into the dimly lit bar room. She headed immediately for the back corner, taking one of the dark wood boths in the back to keep anyone from overhearing their conversation.

Jon followed Bianca out of the lot and went down the road with the radio playing lightly. He pulled the pistol out of his waistband so he was more comfortable as he drove. He was glad to have run into the other hunter but he was curious about the tricks she mentioned. He was a little worried that a demon had been seen around the area but shouldn't be a huge problem.
He turned into the lodge and parked as close to Bianca as he could. He slid the pistol under the seat and grabbed a small revolver that he slid into an ankle holster. He almost never went anywhere unarmed and the last thing he wanted was to be attacked without being prepared. He sat on the opposite side of the table and motioned to the waitress.
"What'll you be having Bianca?", he asked as looked through the menu the waitress handed him once again using a fake accent.

Bianca watched Jon crossed the room and join her at the table. It fascinating how he managed to turn on and off his accent. Bianca was beginning to wonder which was real, and which was fake.
"Grilled chicken sandwich, American cheese, no tomato and...." Bianca eyed her options on the menu in front of her, "whiskey and Mountain Dew. Thanks."
She put the menu down and waited for Jon to order. She was not about to bring up their topic with a third party in the mix.

"I'll have a burger with american cheese, and no onions and a rum and coke", he handed the menu back to the waitress and waited until she was out of earshot.
"Let me know any information you have on whatever creature is out there, you said it was bigfoot right? I'm not even going to bother looking anything up because I'll get nothing but hoaxes. Does it have any weaknesses or will regular bullets work?", he pulled out his cell phone and slid down the list of equipment he had to see what would work best on a large creature.
"On top of that what's your situation on weaponry? I have some stuff in my truck if you need anything", Jon stopped talking as soon as he saw the waitress come back with their orders.
