Edana narrowed her eyes as she stepped out of the portal and slowly rolled her head from side to side. Inter-dimensional travel was always hard on the body and this time was worse as it was the first time she had ever set foot in the human dimension. She had no idea what part of this world she was in, but she figured where ever it was, it was as good a place to start as any.
She took to the shadows, concealing herself effectively, and began moving. Sure, she was being cautious, but any being with any wits about them always was in a new place and she had absolutely no idea what, or who, to expect.
It was fairly common knowledge that a host of supernatural beings frequented this dimension as humans were some of the weakest forms known and were, therefore, easy pickings. The Fae, however, usually kept away from here as they usually kept to themselves, but times were changing and the Unseelie court was gradually growing bored with the Seelie who seemed to have all but surrendered after so many centuries.
As she moved, she was constantly taking in her surroundings – always watching, always listening. She passed a couple of men fighting and smirked to herself. What do you know, she thought, this place just might be interesting. Quickly turning a corner and leaving the men to it, Edana sped up her pace, needing to find a place to camp for the night.
Eventually she came to a building that, upon further inspection, seemed to house many bedrooms. She flashed from window to window, inspecting each room, until she came upon a seemingly vacant one. She once again scanned the area around her and, once she was satisfied that she was alone and not being watched, she muttered something under her breath and smiled when the door opened. Slipping inside without another thought, she set about becoming accustomed to her temporary quarters.
