"What the hell do you think it was for? You're the one who started this fight."
"Technically I just started walking towards this cabin, you hit me first remember?"
Alexander had been just about to stand up when Magda grabbed him and punched in the jaw. He instinctively rolled his head with it to prevent a lot of injury to the both of them but he still felt himself bite his cheek. Then she was shoving him again. Picking himself up, he looked down at the remainder of his shirt. It was all torn up and covered in his blood. He grabbed it and ripped it right off his chest, no point in keeping it now. The inside of his cheek healed where he'd bitten it, so he spit the blood out. Wiping his face and hands with the shirt's remains he tossed it aside.
"Just relax Mags, no need for this to get messy."
He couldn't help but look down at his chest, covered in small scars with one large one right over his heart, where his own village chieftain had tried to run a golden dagger through him. Gold weapons always left scars even if they didn't kill him.
"Leave now!"
Alex could hear the anger in her voice, instead he shifted back to his human form. Using his inhuman speed he was right in front of her in the blink of an eye. He grabbed her wrists in an iron hard embrace and pulled them behind her back as he held her tight to him so she wouldn't stab him again. His face just inches away from hers, he looked down into the Loup-garous's eyes.
"You really can't change can you? I was never going to destroy the cabin, I just wanted to set you free and help you control the beast."
He spoke softly, hoping it would calm her down a minute. He held her for a minute, feeling her heart beating against his bare chest. Slowly letting go of her wrists he slid the knife from her grasp and dropped it to the ground. He slid his hands into her's gently squeezing her fingers as a sign of reassurance.
"I didn't mean for you to be that upset. I didn't realize how important the cabin was to you."

Magda stiffened as Alex managed to he a hold on her. The charm was back, covering his more more dangerous nature once again. She didn't fall for it this time, but still made no move to attack him again.
"Uncontrollable, born of vengeance." The woman repeated what she had said earlier. "The thing inside of me, in all of the time that has passed, I've only been able to contain it. There has never been the slightest hint of control."
The anger that fed the beast was a seriously pissed off entity, and Mags had no idea where the emotion originated. Human emotions faded with time, while she still disliked vampires, it had more to do with the fact that they lived off humans, rather than what had happened to her family back before the fall of Rome. Maybe it came from the goddess who had 'blessed' her, that thing has certainly contained a lot of anger towards . . . well seemingly everything that wasn't in awe of her. Perhaps the emotions of gods were as eternal as they were.
"That cabin keeps me from destroying lives." She said in a softer voice. "From driving others to the same lengths that turned me into what I am. Please let me go. The moon is over, I want to get away from here."

"Uncontrollable, born of vengeance. The thing inside of me, in all of the time that has passed, I've only been able to contain it. There has never been the slightest hint of control."
He felt bad about pushing her as far as he did. Hurting humans might've been his thing but he felt a pang of regret at doing to others like him. Not always given a choice as to what they were. Magda wasn't given a choice and she had no known way of doing anything about it.
"That cabin keeps me from destroying lives. From driving others to the same lengths that turned me into what I am. Please let me go. The moon is over, I want to get away from here."
He heard her voice soften as he looked down into her eyes, he could see the pain in them. He gave her a gentle hug before releasing her.
"I'm truly sorry for this Mags, I can only hope there is a way to make this up to you. Come on, let me take you out for dinner. I know a nice italian restaurant about a half hour drive away from here. It'll be my treat."
He smiled at her again hoping to ease the situation, she was pretty capable in her human form. He didn't want her to continue being angry around the next full moon.

Italian sounded good, even if it wouldn't even be noon by the time they got out of these woods, but Magda wasn't sure if she wanted to hang around Alex longer than she had too. He was too much of am unknown, who knew what he might do around humans. She opened her mouth to refuse his offer when her stomach let out a hungry growl.
"I guess it couldn't hurt too much," she said finally, "As long as you promise to behave."
Now that the fight was over, Magda picked the knife up again and returned it to its sheath. Then she walked over to where her overnight bag had fallen and slung it over her shoulder. This was only an overnight bag Most of her clothing was still in her car. It wasn't much of a wardrobe, but she was in full living-out-of-a-car mode right now. It would be a month or so before she could get the paperwork together to start a new life.
"I'm parked to the west, how about you?"

Alexander almost laughed when he heard her stomach growl, he was sure she was about to refuse his offer.
"Yeah I guess we'll see...", he mumbled incoherently.
It'd been a long time since he let someone tell him how he had to act. For now he was just going to play nice, she might've been fast but if they went at it again things would be different. He didn't let any of this show on his face, instead adopting a disarming smile.
"I'm way back in town, I just came out here to see if the rumors about the "scary monster" were true. Monster, not so much, scary on the other hand...", he gave her a wink to show he was kidding around.
He had to admit she did have guts and he respected anyone that wasn't afraid to stand up for themselves. So many times he'd seen humans flee from him or do nothing to stop the destruction of their homes, families and friends. He liked Magda and couldn't bring himself to have the fun he usually did but maybe he'd find something in town. With that thought in his head, he started walking west towards Magda's car.
Oh yes... we'll have lots of fun in town...

Magda glared when Alex responded to her request with noncommittal muttering. If she weren't so hungry there was no way she would be agreeing to something like this. Damn her stomach. "I'm serious Alex, if you hurt anyone we'll be playing hide and seek with your major organs."
The shapeshifter had every intention of keeping that promise if he tried anything, and put her hand on the handle of her knife to prove it. The son of a god might be more powerful than a cursed human, but Magda had never been the type to stand by and do nothing. Alex would have to go through her to get to any humans.
After she had held the glare long enough to make her point, Magda headed towards her car. There was no well defined path back to it, but her heightened senses and years of experience made finding her way back to it easy.

"That's always a fun game to play."
He kept his eyes locked on hers as she glared at him, he could tell by looking at her that she would very well planned on keeping her word. He couldn't help admire the fact that she stood her ground so well. Most people were all talk, it was a refreshing change of pace.
"So what made you come here in the first place?"
He pulled a quarter from his pocket and started rolling it back and forth across his knuckles. It helped him keep his mind clear and he'd always been unable to sit still.
"By the way, would you mind stopping at a store and picking up a shirt for me? Mine got a little torn up."

"I found this place a few years after I came to the States, took refuge here during a full moon." Magda explained." I did a number on the wildlife population and Agatha noticed. She was a witch, a damn skilled one too, she was able to trap me in a powerful binding circle. She made a permanent circle in her basement after that. If I'm in this region during a full moon this is where I hide myself."
Even though years had passed since the old woman had died, the immortal still missed her. Aggie had understood what it was like to be different, to have something inside of you that could get innocent bystanders killed. The two women had kept each other company over the years, it had almost been like having a family again.
Magda looked over at Alex when he mentioned buying a new shirt. He would indeed need a new one, unless torn and bloody had very recently become a new fashion trend. It might have been polite to offer to buy the replacement, but she was still a little sore about him threatening to attack the cabin. Bluff or not, it wasn't something easily forgiven.
"There is an old traders post on the way, it should have some basic clothing stocked."

"So what happens if you're not in the area? Just pick a place that needs a good crisis and let loose?"
Alex flipped the quarter back and forth across his knuckles with the skill of someone who had centuries to practice. He saw that some memory had caught hold of Magda, he could see it on her face. She'd obviously been close to this Agatha, it made him think back to the last time he'd been close to someone. He saw her looking over at him from the corner of his eye.
"See something you like?", he gave her a wink as he flexed a little bit. He knew it'd probably only irritate her but he couldn't resist joking around.
"Old traders post? Listen babe, I know I'm old but I do like to keep up on current fashion too."
He picked up a scent that was similar to Magda's but just a little different, he figured it was probably her car which meant it wasn't much further.

"I have a couple of similar spot scatted across the states." The loup-garrous explained. "None of them are as nice as the cabin, but they contain the beast just fine."
Magda rolled her eyes and scoffed when Alex suggested that she might find him to be attractive, but couldn't totally keep a light blush from spreading across her cheeks. She hoped that her darker skin tone would be enough to hide it. So what if he had the body of a full fledged god, he had all the moral fiber of a glass of water and a seriously bad attitude. "Not a chance."
The woman laughed a little at the thought of half-god in the clothes of an old person. It was an odd fit, but totally amusing. "The establishment is old, not the clothing. I promise you wont end up in suspenders."
After another minute of walking her car came into view. The blue Prius was parked right where she'd left it, and thankfully hadn't gotten too covered in leaves or pollen. A simple brush off would have it looking decent again without having to wash it. Magda didn't need any comments from Alex about her getting wet.

"Oh good, now I don't have to worry about being stuck around here when we run away together."
He slid the quarter back into his pocket, he was tempted to mess around with his butterfly knife but he knew if he did that, Magda would pull her knife and they'd be back where they started.
"Uh huh, keep telling yourself that", he wasn't sure but he thought he caught the faintest whisper of a blush but he figured it was just his mind making him think things.
"Yeah right, you're probably itching to get me in suspenders and live out that hunky fireman fantasy you have aren't you?", Alexander brushed some bits of dust and other stuff people got from trekking in the woods off of his pants. Now that he was looking, almost everything was covered in blood save for his socks and shorts. He'd learned long ago to keep his wallet in a plastic bag and that had saved it and the contents from being ruined.
"Hmmm... looks like someone needs a wash Mags, when's the last time you cleaned this... toy. I mean seriously, a prius? I get saving the environment and all but we've both been around long enough to know it's gonna take way more than what the humans are doing now."
He walked towards it and waited till she unlocked it before holding the door open. Cold blooded killer or not, his Ma raised him up with manners. Something else he was seeing less and less of.
"You know what? I think you're going to want to kill me more if I get blood on your seats", he stripped down to his shorts and threw the bloody clothes as far as he could into the woods, "Now before you get any crazy ideas, I will scream for help if there's any funny business. And my eyes are up here Missy."
He climbed into the passenger seat, thankful for the comfortable seats. The last car he'd taken had worn out seats that were practically nothing but metal frames. He put his wallet, cell and butterfly knife on the floor by his feet and dropped his change into the cupholder. All the stuff he had worth carrying fit into his pockets.
"Let's get me some pants before you start drooling everywhere."

"Run away together? Not even in your dreams." Magda said humorously. She had a feeling that long term contact with Alex would include a lot of very bloody fights. Hell, they'd known each other for less than an hour and she'd already given him a would that would have killed a normal man. It would be a miracle of they could get through lunch without fighting again.
The woman looked away when Alex began shedding his dirty clothing, revealing even more of his very nice body. The blush intensified slightly. One would think that Magda, being older than most modern states, would be experienced enough with men to not blush, but she wasn't. It wasn't that she hadn't been with anyone since the death of her husband, there just hadn't been an overwhelming amount of them. Even shapeshifting nightmares had standards, okay, well at least this shapeshifting monster has standards. "Not even close to what I was thinking." Magda said, referencing her earlier thoughts of Alex in old man pants.
"The Prius is a nice car, don't insult her." She said as she brushed the leaves off of the hood, "Besides, gas isn't going to get any less expensive."
Ignoring Alex's drool comment, Magda slid into the driver's seat and started the engine. It took a second to maneuver the car back onto the road, and headed towards the trading station. The faster she got clothes for Alex the better, his crowing over his attractiveness was getting old.

"If you say so."
He looked over at Magda from the corner of his eye, hoping she didn't catch him staring. He was still trying to figure out what made her tick. He'd never heard of a loup-garrous even in all his time. He wondered if it was similar for both of them growing up. The difference that she had no control in her transformation where he did. Alexander was strong, fast, and smart even though people tended not to think so. Which was fine with him, they were the ones regretting underestimating him.
The thing that worried him was that she was tough in her human form and it was the ones that couldn't control their transformations that you had to watch out for. He knew gold was the sure fire way to end him but he'd never been decapitated and if they went at it when she changed, he wasn't to positive he'd be walking away.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm just picking on you."
He gazed out the window as she pulled onto the road. His mind going off to distant memories.
"You're right, I'm sorry little Prius. And gas is only expensive when you pay for it."
He knew this was her car which meant she'd bought it, which probably meant she was employed and lived a normal life when she wasn't a monstrous beast. He'd never had his own place, usually living with what ever woman he'd convinced to let him or breaking into empty hotel rooms for a night. He had money, that wasn't the problem. Centuries of hoarding had given him a small fortune to tap into. He just didn't stay in one place for long. He'd been almost all over the world twice.
"So, tell me what your other life is like. Your human life. Husband? Boyfriend? Girlfriend maybe? Where do you work?", he didn't want to sit in silence so he pestered her with questions. He hoped they got to the trading post soon, as much as he didn't mind sitting there in boxers he felt very self aware around her. Which was a feeling he rarely felt, if ever, and he wasn't liking it.

"Oh yes, stealing gas would be a wonderful idea." Magda said sarcastically. "My image on some police report would make keeping a low profile so much easier, especially when it keeps popping up for the next century or two."
In an age of growing technology it was important for immortals to not leave any lasting records. Data was sticking around longer and spreading farther. The chances of someone catching on to an unusually long lifespan was increasing. A criminal record, with the photos and finger prints that went with it would only make it easier to do.
"I'm a widow, he died along time ago, maybe even before you were born." She explained, "No current relationships, my past is a bit too complicated to allow a normal relationship. No job, I live off my investments, mainly stock and real estate. I'll do free lance work when I get bored, photography mainly. What about you?"
The path through the woods was rough and winding. It would take ten minutes to get to the main road, and maybe another quarter of an hour after that to get to the trading post. It would be a slow drive, and Magda really hoped Alex wasn't one of those annoying male passengers who liked to bitch about her skills behind the wheel. Although there was no chance of her dying in a car accident, the immortal woman still drove cautiously. She really liked this car after all.

"Well if you wanna be snarky about it, it'd only be your fault for getting caught."
He tried to think if he had any kind of record going around. Besides one time in the fifteenth century he hadn't seen a picture of his face anywhere.
"Sorry... I guess that must've sucked pretty bad. I don't think you should let your pass stop you from being with someone though. I got a few investments here and there but I usually come by what I need one way or another."
He figured it'd take a while to get back to town, but he enjoyed car trips. Maybe it was the wolf inside, he'd always joked with himself.
"So where are you from originally?"
