Rick smirked as Dean pointed out the fact that he was one who wouldn’t pass too much judgment in regards to Rick’s dead but not forgotten wife but even so he decided for now he would keep that to himself.
“Basically there is no real way to tell which demonic binding spell was sued therefore there is no real way to say 100% if by causing the demon pain you would be causing this other person pain or even death…you have to keep in mind it takes much less to kill a human then it does a demon…I know it isn’t the ray of sunshine answer but its all I got. I would step lightly there since if this demon means business it is pretty certain it wouldn’t have used the Dollar Store version of the spell,” Rick pointed out with a shrug still not fully understanding what the hell it was they were talking about.
Rick’s eyes caught sight of the gun tucked into Dean’s waistband and eyed it curiously for a moment wondering what type of person exactly dean was in regards to the information he had just told him. But it wouldn’t be Payne’s fault if the guy went nuts and blew away a cult so who the hell was he to question.
“Not a problem I do have to admit you have been my first non pointless visit since I got here so that’s something. Not a problem,” Rick said pulling his wallet from his jean pocket and shifting through it till he pulled out one of his business cards on it that had his office and cell number.
“Call and I’ll probably answer unless I’m dead or just busy,” he said with a smirk handing the card to Dean.

Dean attempted to smile and yet failed entirely as Payne all but confirmed the whole “Meg gets hurt...Sammy gets hurt....Meg bites the big one....Sammy bites the big one” deal and he shrugged his shoulders gently “Here is hoping Prof....” he mumbled “Let's hope she bought her book from a bargain bin huh?” he added quietly.
Managing to finally muster up a smile and taking the business card from Payne's hand, Dean slipped it into his pocket and glanced back up at Payne “I always aim to make those around me have a sunnier life than me so hell if I could at least brighten your day then I succeeded somewhere eh?” he grinned.
Dean made his way towards the door of the office and stopped quickly, turning on the spot and glancing back at the Professor, Dean nodded his head once and pulled the door open “Thanks for not throwing me out on my ass....and don't forget the Moo Shu pork...highly recommended.” he grinned, and with that Dean pushed his way out into the hallway and down towards the exit of the college.

"Don't mention it Dean," Payne replied as Dean thanked him for not kicking him out of his office. That had been something Rick never understood about himself no matter how much people pissed him off he had yet to toss somebody out on their ass...oh well.
"I'll be sure I take up your recommendation...take care fo yourself with whatever it is you're going up against," Rick replied as he watched the guy leave the office. He went back to his desk and pulled out the phone book and placed an order for dinner taking the guys recommendation and trying to process everything that had jsut occured. He leaned back in his chair his eyes searching the ceiling for the moment as he thought.

It had taken Meg no time at all to get from Wyoming down the winding roads to Kansas. There had been a slight crimp in her plan that she had learned about when she placed the last call to her father. Apparently that meddling demon bitch Ruby had been sticking her hands in things that didn’t have anything to do with her but Ruby meddling would only last for a few more hours and then Sammy would be an open book once more and that was just the way Meg liked him. Split wide open for her to with as she damn well pleased.
She had one more thing to do though before their plan could fully come into play and it was time that certain doors were opened so others could come out and play but she needed to make one quick stop before she could go to Stull. She pulled the car she had made her own into a parking spot in front of the University of Kansas; there was someone in there who had something which would soon belong to her. She slammed the door to the car as she got out and walked her way across the campus to the building she had rather quickly learned held the office of Professor Payne the man who held one of the copies of the book she needed to “borrow” for a spell.
She slunk into an open classroom her eyes wide with amusement and not truly believing her luck as she saw Dean Winchester leaving the very place she was headed and even more interesting was the absences of the little puppy.
“Oh big brave hero taking on hell on his own,” she hissed with a smile as she watched him out of sight make his way away from the building. Once she was certain he was gone she slunk back out of the shadows and made her way into Grimauld Hall and directly to Professor Payne’s office.
She could have knocked but then again that was never any fun so instead she slammed open the door her eyes immediately scanning the room as she slammed it closed behind her.
“Honey I’m home,” she whispered with a thick tone of malice as her eyes narrowed on the Professor who sat behind his desk her eyes flashing black.

Rick almost toppled out of his chair as the door to his office was thrust open and slammed shut again in a matter of seconds as a young blonde girl made her way into the office without the slightest moment for pleasantries.
“They fcking grow you weird people on trees in these par…” Rick froze his eyes going wide as he watched the girl’s eyes in front of him go dark black in a matter of seconds. He swallowed hard not sure what the hell had just walked through his door but he was all but certain it wasn’t good.
Rick stood hesitantly from his chair and backed up several paces till he hit the wall putting as much space between him and the demon girl as he could.
“I think you’ve got the wrong office…I’m um the new…basket weaving professor just started this afternoon; so if you’re looking for Payne he’s um…dead. Yeah he died of a massive heart attack like 5 minutes ago. But you can take my class it starts next year,” Payne replied hsi9 eyes never leaving the empty black pits if the girl in front of him. His eyes scanned the room for a moment trying to figure out what he had that he could use against her. Problem was he had tones of stuff though none of it was available but still packed up in boxes.

Meg's eyes remained black as the guy before her stumbled over his excuses and failed entirely in lying. “Oh sweetheart, I wasn't born yesterday...Payne isn't dead, well not yet anyways sugar...” she added with a sly grin and made her way further into the office.
Her eyes gazed over the many books that lay about the office on various shelves and she quickly fixed her black eyes back upon him. “My, my, my....you do have a lot of books for a basket weaver don't ya?” she grinned “What are they all? Light reading? Hmmm?” Meg's head cocked to the side slightly as she made her way towards the Professor again and her sly smile held firm.
“I do believe you have something that I need Payne....” she muttered spitefully “A book that is long overdue it's return to the rightful owner but I am sure we can come to an arrangement on how to sort out payment of late fines....” she hissed quietly, the malice in her voice interlaced with the low almost sinister laugh that pushed its way through.

Rick’s eyes locked once more with the girl in front of him; though he was pretty sure it wasn’t fare to call her a girl but he was running out of things to call her. Rick was not filled with the joys of spring as the girl pointed out that Payne wasn’t dead ….yet.
“Yeah well a heart attack will do the trick” he thought to himself as he side stepped slightly as she took a few steps closer.
“Yeah well you know the ladies don’t really go for the whole basket weaver thing so books keep me company…” Rick muttered the cold of his wedding band biting into his skin. If there was ever a time for Kate to throw a ghostly bitch fit and start throwing things now would be the time but of course she was nowhere to be found.
“Light reading…porn you know the usual,” rick replied with a half hearted smirk as he tripped over a box in the corner of the room.
Her words and the tone that they brought with them caused Rick to freeze as she brought up a book and without firther explanation he knew what book she meant. There was no sick cult or theoretically speaking, this was the same “demonic bitch” that Dean ahd been after and rick was so very fcking screwed.
“Book? What sort of book? I’ve got plenty you see…there’s “Green Eggs and Ham”? “Charlotte’s Web” ? “Cinderella”? “The Wizard Of Oz”? …Pick one any one really you can have them all it might help clear your vision a bit…seriously visine has got nothing on you,” Rick muttered pretty much knowing he shouldn’t be a smart as but he didn’t have much of an option here.

Meg's smiled held firm, even through the lame attempts of jokes that the Professor threw out and she stood stock still within the center of the room, her eyes never leaving him. “Why is it that you men always turn to humor to mask the fact that you know deep down that you are royally shot up the ass....” she pondered quietly. “My friend always does that....I am pretty sure you know my friend....seeing as he left not long before I got here....”
Her eyes drilled their way into Payne as Meg thought on Dean's appearance at the office and she held her arm up straight in front of her “What did he want?” she spat “Please tell me you didn't give him my book....because that would make me very....” Meg stopped speaking and drilled her sights onto Payne again, her outstretched arm flexed slightly and within a matter of moments she watched amused as the Professor was pinned none too gently against the wall behind him. “....sad” she finished spitefully.
“Come now sweetheart....I don't have time for fun and games....you know which book I mean,” Meg's arm lay outstretched as she walked the rest of the distance towards Payne and stopped directly in front of him. Her face lay mere inches from his and her smile once more held firm “I would hate to have your entrails crushed within your meat suit before I get what I desire....” she hissed quietly, her eyes gazing over him before fixing solely upon his face again.

“Being shot up the ass is rather unpleasant so we try to avoid it as much as possible,” Rich shot back with a small glare as he kept his eyes on the demon girl. Rick’s speculation was all but proven correct as the girl mentioned having seen Dean at his office and he knew now that this was the demon who Dean had planned to go up against. Payne was still rather confused how it seemed to all be directed at him at the moment but that was only a slightly major fcking issue at the moment.
“Just some small talk I needed to know where to get some good chines simple stuff like that…nothing major or end of the world centric,” Rick replied his eyes shifting past the demon and towards the door wondering for a moment exactly how far he would get before he was slaughtered should he try and run for it. The question seemed rather pointless as in the next instance he found himself slammed backwards by a force. He hit the wall hard sending a few items which were on the wall behind him crashing to the ground. He flinched slightly pain sounding through his head.
“Well that’s a cute trick,” he groaned forcing his eyes to focus on the girl as she made her way in front of him. Rick grimaced slightly at the rather vivid picture the girl painted in regards to what she intended to do to him should he not cooperate.
“Yeah I’m not really a fan of that plan of action myself…but really I don’t know where the book is…” he was sort of not lying…sort of. He knew it was in the office and he knew it was till in a box and he was pretty sure that box was by his desk…ok so he was completely lying.
“Besides you don’t look like much of a reader if I do say so myself…sort of a bubble headed blonde with a bitch of a demonic possession to deal with.”

Meg smirked back at Payne as he still attempted to talk his way out of the rather sticky situation he had found himself in and she shook her head slowly “Sweetheart...when I am finished with you your entrails will be grasped within your own bloody hands as I tear them from your body.... Chinese food is now the least of your worries....” she whispered happily, her voice almost singing as she stared back at him.
As Payne seemed rather shocked by his sudden and none too gentle meeting with the wall, Meg smiled back at him, a look of pride all too evident across her face “Cute indeed and only the very start of what I am capable of sugar....” she hissed, her black eyes still flaring with the unflinching anger behind them.
Meg's eyes squared upon Payne and her outstretched arm flexed again as he saw fit to joke his way around again and her voice came out in a low, hate filled growl. “I am pretty sure that what you will be feeling now....” she hissed, her eyes drilling into his, her outstretched hand directed solely at Payne's abdomen “Is you spleen close to rupture....tell me how it feels sweetheart...is it a bitch of a pain....Hmmm?” she mused quietly.
“If you wish for you bones to remain solid and not resemble a scrambled mess of blood and cartilage then I suggest you remember where the book is....” she growled, forcing yet more pressure into Payne's abdomen “And fast....” she spat viciously.

Rick cringed slightly again in response to the girl’s way with words.
“You do have a rather over-active imagination,” Payne snapped trying to pull himself away from the force holding him against he wall but having no luck with it what so ever. Rick eyed the demon as he dreaded to think what it was she was getting at or had in store for him but he didn’t have to wait long as seconds later he felt pain rip through his abdomen.
A strangled cry pushed its way from Rick as he struggled to keep his wits about him but the pain only increased making it an impossible idea to go through with.
“Stop…please…I’ll tell you…fck I’ll tell you,” he gasped through gritted teeth the pain ripping through his body. His life had sucked before but he was pretty sure this was a brand new low for him.
“There’s a box under the desk…there isn’t a lot in there…it’s in there…it’s the only book,” he explained through gritted teeth clenching his eyes shut for a moment against the pain.

Meg smiled back at Payne as he once more struggled to joke through the pain and she shook her head gently “Oh no sugar...it's not imagination, it's reality...” she chuckled gently “I'm just not the kind to sugar coat it much.” she added with a sly grin.
Her eyes glistened happily as the Professor seemed to finally break under her control and her head immediately snapped to look under the desk. A small smile crossed her lips and she stepped away from Payne slowly “Stay....good boy...” she sang lightly, watching ever amused as Payne was forced harder against the wall.
Crouching down beside the table and tearing the box out from underneath it, Meg rifled through it quickly and pulled out the one object she had desired to get her hands upon for so very long. Her fingers stroked the worn leather bound book as if it were the most precious thing upon God's green earth and she began to stand again slowly. Her actions, however were stopped abruptly as her eyes fell upon something else within the box and she placed the book down gently upon the table.
Taking the handle of the silver knife within the box gently in her hand, she stroked the blade carefully across the palm of her other and allowed the same sinister smile to cross her lips. Turning back to Payne and crossing the short distance between them, Meg immediately removed the spell upon him and pulled him down so that he rested against her.
“You know sweetheart....I haven't a darn clue why Kate would screw around behind your back....” she groaned, her head lying next to his and her words all but drilling directly into his ear “Did you prove to be a flop in bed.....?” she mused spitefully, wrenching his hair back and pulling his head so that her eyes drilled into his “Why don't you ask her? Right after you give her a great big Howdey welcome of course....” she spat and without second thought, drove the blade of the knife clean into his stomach.
“Thanks for all your help sugar....” she groaned lightly into his ear, stepping away from him and forcing the blade further into his gut. “Have a happy reunion.....” she added with a growl. Taking up the book and stowing it beneath her arm, Meg snatched at one of the jackets that lay upon the hangers near the door and wiped the blood from off of her hands.
Affording him only one glance as she made her way out of the office, Meg straightened her hair out and slowly, determinedly made her way towards the exit of the University.

Rick watched the demon girl as he breathed through the pain or well tried to breathe through it. He had been in worse spots then this or he tried to tell himself though as time wore on he was starting to doubt it. He groaned as he was slammed further back into the wall his body groaning in pain of the force. He could only hope Dean had a good enough head start that he hadn’t just killed him in order to save himself.
Payne watched with a sense of dread as the girl too easily found the book she had been after so badly. He suddenly dreaded the thought that his luck was about to get worse as he watched her pull a silver knife. He would learn one of these days it wasn’t smart to have sharp things around when you could get attacked by a demon…new rule yes but after tonight it was apparent it needed to be added.
The smile which crossed her lips made Rick’s blood run cold as she made her way back towards him. The moment she released the spell she had placed upon him his body slumped forward from the exhaustion and strain of it. He wanted to be as far away from her as possible as she pulled him down to her and he froze as he heard the words she uttered in his ear about Kate.
His whole body went rigid and his breathing all but stopped as he tried his best to remain calm. He had read old tales which he once thought were false but now was not so sure about demon’s knowing far more then they should and using it to their advantage. His thoughts didn’t get far past thought train as he suddenly felt a white hot slice of pain tear through his stomach as the girl stabbed him with the knife.
As soon as she released her hold on him Rick tumbled to the ground the knife still buried into his gut and pain spreading through him like wild fire. He looked up as he watched the girl exit the office and close the door behind her leaving him alone to deal with his own misery. He would have yelled for help but knowing the late hour he wouldn’t have gotten an answer. He struggled to push himself up and against the wall and after a few times he succeeded his whole body slumped against the wall as he sat upon the floor blood pooling around him.
His eyes took in the silver knife which was sticking out of him and he mentally struggled with himself to try and figure out if he should pull it out or not; either way was going to hurt like a bitch. He took a few gulps of air before wrapping his hands around the cold silver handle of the knife.
“Fck…fck…fck…” he groaned and then pulled the knife out of him as cream tore itself from him as the knife clattered the ground next to him and curled on to his side sweat beading upon his forehead as he tired to breathe through the agony. He lay on his side gently rocking back and forth for a few moments till he finally struggled to pull his cell phone out of his pocket. He could barely see the numbers on the screen and just hit the dial number so the phone would call the last person he spoke with which was Melinda.
