Lilith wanted the colt. Not because she had some huge plan to open the gate again and fill the world with more demons. That had been done. No, Lilith wanted the colt so that no body else had the colt. The colt was dangerous to her plans, mostly because it was probably the only thing she was aware of that could kill her. Besides a certain 'special' child of course. But Lilith didn't really want to die, not soon anyway, and so, she needed the colt.
Bella Talbot once had the colt and was supposed to give it to her before her time was up. But for some inexplicable reason, the stupid woman failed to do so and the hell hounds ended her before Lilith could find out where it was. Which meant that Lilith, for the first time in her rather long life, had had to go and do the dirty work herself. Which, although irritating, had been surprisingly efficient and she wondered why she had never done so before.
What she had discovered was that Bella had a business associate. Lilith didn't know whether to be happy or disgusted that their was more than one Bella Talbot in the world, but there wasn't a whole lot she could do to change it anyway. The associate, who seemed to go by the name Brickston Harbenger, had been holding the colt for Bella and apparently still had it. Which was why Lilith was now standing infront of a room in the Ritz, wearing the cutest child she could find, and trying very hard not to scowl. Figuring it would look suspicious if the man's door were blown down and not really wanting to massacre the entire building, Lilith took a very deep breath and knocked as patiently as she could on the door.

The night had drug on and on but the weight of the money Brickston;s pocket more then proved that it was well worth it. He didn't make a hbbit of coning the "normal" folks these days but old habbits died hard as they said and he just couldn't help taking the rich patsys who were staying at the Ritz along with him for all they were worth...besides it was better then watching late night TV.
Cracking open a Coke Brick made his way down the hallway towards the room he had aquired thanks to the hefty paycheck his last con had afforded him. He knew he couldn't stick around for long...especially considering the pissed off professional golfers down below and those weren't even the goblins he had conned out of $50,000 from. Life for the moment was...passable...no that was wrong it was almost passable there was only one piece that was severely out of place. The one piece which kept him up at night or cringing in his sleep from night terrors he couldn't remember or the complete feeling of emptyness he felt...his Alice was missing.
Years had gone by it seemed and nothing could ever replace her...he wouldn't allow it to and he would continue to hunt for her until he stopped breathing or he found her...whatever happened first. He smiled to himself slightly as he took a drink from the can thinking that Alice wouldn't approve of a Coke at 4:30 in the morning...it wasn't a healthy choice as she would point out...but then again living without her wasn't a healthy choice.
Brickston nearly tripped over the small girl which was in front of his hotel room and he stared down at her curiously. Had she been knocking on his door?...That couldn't be right...what the hell was this kid doing up so late?
"Evening doll...you looking for somebody?" Brickston asked with a friendly smile as he crouched down next to the little girl.

Having her target show up beside her when she had thought he was inside was slightly embarrassing and Lilith was incredibly glad she hadn't brought any back up with her.
"Evening doll...you looking for somebody?"
Lilith wasn't entirely sure what she could say that would let her into the room. Not that he had much of a choice in the matter really as she doubted he had the colt on him, and she could probably kill him before he managed to draw it anyway. She gave him her sweetest smile and twirled a piece of her hair around her finger as she regarded him.
"You actually," she said, tapping his nose with her free hand. Her smile brightened further as she allowed her eyes to roll back and reveal white. "But I think this is an inside conversation."

Brickston returned the little girls smile as she looked back at him. She seemed harmless enough more then likely just knocking on the wrong door. They had did damn well look the same even to him.
"You actually."
The smile faded abruptly from Brick's face as the little girl's words dawned on him and he stumbeled backwards against the wall as he watched the little girl's eyes roll intot he back of her head revealing nothing but white depths.
"But I think this is an inside conversation."
Innocent little girl she wasn't...at least not any more.
Brick's cleared his throat as he struggeled to his feet his eyes searching up and down the hallway looking for the other demons who didn't seem to be there. He found it odd that the demon would be by herself; especially under the guise of a little girl but he had to agree with her business was best taken care of not in a public hallway where anyone could walk into it. Without a word Brick pulled himself up and pulled the key from his pocket and swipped the latch and pushed the door open without a word as he entered the fancy hotel room.
He wished he could walk into room slike this one day not followed by demons...monsters...or things that wanted to kill him...maybe one day.
He didn;t bother to wait for the demon to follow he knew she would so he shrugged out of his jacket and drapped it over the chair and slumped down in the lounge shair in the center of the room his eyes shifting from the demon to the door.
"What can I do you for then?"

Lilith was pleased with Brickston's reaction to discovering what she was. She enjoyed inspiring fear, and stumbling over was usually a pretty good sign someone was afraid. She watched him carefully as he got back to his feet and unlocked the hotel room before following him inside and slamming the door shut, locking it behind her.
"What can I do you for then?"
Her eyes moved to the rather bouncy looking bed and she skipped over to it before climbing up and jumping happily, her eyes locked on the con-man in front of her.
"The colt," she said simply. "You have it. I want it. Give it to me."
She didn't think it was necessary to point out the consequences for not obeying, one had to be smart to be able to swindle people out of money. He would know already.

Brickston watched in silence as the little girl made her way across the room and then began to bounce upon the bed as if it was the most simple act in the world. This was all damn well wrong but he wasn't dumb enough to think there was a damn thing he could do about it. He was pretty sure he had caused this what with his sticking around for a bit longer then needed but he had been comfortable...that was a flaw.
"The colt. You have it. I want it. Give it to me."
The colt.
It had been a damn long while isnce anyone had been asking about that. He had actually gone to the hotel room of an old...dead friend of his and retrieved the colt after a pack of hell hounds had literally torn her limb from limb...Brick hadn't been able to eat a hamburger for weeks after that. But the buzz around teh gun had died down with Bella and he had kept it close to the vest thinking that it was an important card to have in his pocket.
"Aren't little girls supposed to say please?"
Brickston leaned back in his chair and watched with what he hoped was a look of indifference as the little girl bounced up and down over and over and over again.
"Besides...it's been awhile since Bella became puppy chow...waste of money to hold on to things like that doll. Colts gone."

"Aren't little girls supposed to say please?"
"Please," Lilith added darkly, still bouncing, her hair flying up and down around her. She wasn't in a rush or anything, Lucifer had waited for thousands of years, he could wait a few more weeks, but she didn't know how much patience she had with her this morning or how much stalling she would be able to put up with.
"Besides...it's been awhile since Bella became puppy chow...waste of money to hold on to things like that doll. Colts gone."
Instead of landing on the bed and bouncing back up, Lilith landed on to floor with a hard thump and a deep scowl. Not much patience it would seem. She moved over to Brickston slowly and deliberately, her tiny child hands resting angrily on her tiny child hips.
"Don't lie to me," she said, now standing directly in front of him, holding his gaze. "The colt is not gone. You have it. And you are going to give it to me. Or I am going to take great pleasure in torturing you until you tell me where it is. Then I will let you live while I hunt down your girlfriend and torture her twice as much." Lilith paused briefly, the talk of so much torture was going to over excite her if she wasn't careful. "I'm no little girl, Brickston Harbenger, and I'm no ordinary demon. You can't con me... now... Give. Me. The. COLT."
This last spoken with such force that a tiny part of her true demonic voice showed through causing the lights to flicker and the room to shake. Lilith was surprised, not that she showed any sign of such an emotion. She knew her true voice was supposed to be unbearable but geez, that was just silly.

Brick wasn't at all surprised that having teh demon child....literally say please didn't do a damn thing to help make the situation any less creepy or uncomfortable...for him anyways since she seemed to be having a grand old time bouncing around on the bed. Brickston had been playing this game for far to long and he knew better then to take his eyes off the small demon as she made her way towards him.
"Don't lie to me. The colt is not gone. You have it. And you are going to give it to me. Or I am going to take great pleasure in torturing you until you tell me where it is."
The threat of torture was really nothing new to him since he had ventured into his newest line of work...actually it hadn;t been anything new in the past either as no matter what sort of creature he ran across they were never ok with losing money...or items. He couldn;t help a bored yawn to fall from him as he leaned back in the chair.
"It's far too late in the day for me to makin up stories. I. Don't. Have. The..."
"Then I will let you live while I hunt down your girlfriend and torture her twice as much."
The words froze on Brick's lips as he processed the demon's words.
Hunt her down?
Confusion showed clearly across his face as he sat up straight his eyes searching the girls for any more clues or really anything about Alice. Why would the demons need to hunt her down they took her, they had her after all not him.
"Where is she? What d..."
"I'm no little girl, Brickston Harbenger, and I'm no ordinary demon. You can't con me... now... Give. Me. The. COLT."
Brick cringed slightly as the inhuman voice grew more violent and the room reacted to the onslaught. But in the moment he couldn;t have cared if she was asking for something as simple to the question of what state they were in he was completely focused on what she had said about Alice.
"What do you know about Alice?...Perhaps it may jog my memory on to what may have happened with the Colt."

"What do you know about Alice?...Perhaps it may jog my memory on to what may have happened with the Colt."
Lilith let out a frustrated growl and stamped her foot before folding her arms across her chest and glaring at the human in front of her.
"I had completely forgotten how irritating it is to talk to you people," she said as she began slowly pacing the room. "Bella was the same, always trying to make the situation work out in her favour. Well... look how well that turned out for her."
Lilith really hated people like Brickston and Bella. They were always making deals and then trying to figure ways out of them. True, Brickston hadn't made her kind of deal... yet... but it was only a matter of time. Who knew how far he was willing to go for his precious psychic.
"Okay, here's what's going to happen," she said, halting her pacing and turning to face him. "You're going to give me the colt. Right now. And then, and only then, I'll tell you everything I know about your darling Alice."

Brickston watched the demon child in front of him throw what could very well amount to a fit and he realized he was starting to form a rather strong dislike towards children...they were friggin annoying as all get out especially when they were possesed.
"I had completely forgotten how irritating it is to talk to you people. Bella was the same, always trying to make the situation work out in her favour. Well... look how well that turned out for her."
Brickston kept his face a blank as the little girl went on and on...and people said he talked a lot. This demon had nothing on him.
"Gotta look out for ourselves...'sides who else will?" Brickston asked as he proped his feet up on the coffee table. Keeping his cool was actually rather easy considering how tired he was but not for a minute did he forget that this demon whoever it was had information on Alice...that was something he had been searching for for a very long time. Brick of course also didn't forget the mess of flesh which had been left of Bella...that was soemthing he didn't care to witness again much less go through himself.
"Okay, here's what's going to happen. You're going to give me the colt. Right now. And then, and only then, I'll tell you everything I know about your darling Alice."
Brickston couldn't help the laugh that fell from him at the sound of the demon terrible excuse of a bargain.
"I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday you know...the minute you have the Colt...if I have it to give you'll be gone and I'll be dead...you have to show me a bit of your hand if you want me to play ball with you..."
It was then Brickston realized he didn't even know who he was talking to.
"Who are you any how?"

"Gotta look out for ourselves...'sides who else will?"
His calm was infuriating. Lilith was much more used to dealing with people who were screaming in pain and begging for mercy than irritating little con-men who thought they knew it all.
"I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday you know...the minute you have the Colt...if I have it to give you'll be gone and I'll be dead...you have to show me a bit of your hand if you want me to play ball with you..."
Lilith felt her eye twitch at Brickston's laugh. She didn't like being laughed at and it took all over her energy not the flay the stupid man alive.
"I, unlike you, keep my promises when they are made," she said, sitting down on the ground and crossing her legs as she looked up at him. "You give me what I want, I give you what you want, everyone goes home happy."
"Who are you any how?"
Lilith sighed and leant forward, resting her chin in her hands. This was going to be a long night, wasn't it? "Lilith," she said simply. "I'd tell you my story, but I know you don't give a crap and quite frankly I'd rather hurry this along. The colt, if you would."

"I, unlike you, keep my promises when they are made. You give me what I want, I give you what you want, everyone goes home happy."
Brickston narrowed his eyes in response to the little demons claim that he wasn't a man of his word...he was a man of several words but still it didn't mean that his word was semi good...for the most part...perhaps only on Sundays...between the hours of 9:15 am and noon....but still it was damn well good then!
He still didn't trust the demon and her "Word" after all demons weren't the most trusted creatures out there. Hell Brick would trust a goblin and a gnome over a demon any day and both of those sorts were a bitch to do business with.
"Lilith. I'd tell you my story, but I know you don't give a crap and quite frankly I'd rather hurry this along. The colt, if you would."
It was taking every ounce of self discipline Brickstone had not to dig out the colt and hand it over for information on Alice. But the truth of the matter was that the colt was the only sort of card he had in his own corner. Once Lilith had the colt she would have what she came for and Brick would be left with nothing but the word of a demon. He had been careful with the colt thus far and he couldn't afford to get foolish with it...not now; not when there was so much to lose.
"Lilith I may have a reputation but yours preceeds you as well...what with you being the one who turned Bells into ground beef I am not really inclined to take your word."
Brickston was fighting with himself tooth and nail to force out the words he was about to say.
"I don't have the colt...my apologies doll."

Lilith narrowed her eyes at him. "The hounds tore Bella apart because she couldn't keep up her end of the bargain. And I don't like people who can't keep promises."
"I don't have the colt...my apologies doll."
Enough was enough. Lilith got to her feet quickly and, with a tilt of her head, sent the chair Brickston was sitting on toppling over. In the blink of an eye, she was standing over him, her small fingers gripping his throat tightly.
"I'm running out of patience," she hissed. "I know you have the colt, you moron, or I wouldn't be here. One last chance. You give it to me now, and I tell you what I know. Lie to me again, and you will never find her."

"The hounds tore Bella apart because she couldn't keep up her end of the bargain. And I don't like people who can't keep promises."
Brickston didn't know how likely that was and he really wasn't one to be worried about others demise. Bella had been a good business partner especially since she had been dealing with the supernatural for about as long as Brick had been alive so she had lots of credits and Brick had been happy to learn from her but when she died Brick hadn't spent too many thoughts on the woman. She dug her grave so to speak she would have to lay in it.
Brickston wasn't exactly sure how it happened but instead of sitting in the rather expensive leather arm chair he had been occupying and laying none to gently upon his back on the floor the wind momentarily knocked out of him. Before he could catch his breath he found the demon child standing over him her small hand gripping around his throat with the fore of a vice as it stole away the air and dug painfully into the skin of his throat.
"I'm running out of patience. I know you have the colt, you moron, or I wouldn't be here. One last chance.
Brickston's hand clutched at Lilith's as he struggeled to pull in breath through choking.
"You give it to me now, and I tell you what I know. Lie to me again, and you will never find her."
Brickston's eyes widened considerably at the demon's last words his struggeling momentarily ceasing as he straed back into the would be innocent face of the child. He wanted nothing more hten not to believe her to want to believe she was lying but there was something in her eyes that clearly told him if he didn't tell her where the damn gun was he would be either dead or Alice would be and it would all be on his head.
"Fine...fine...F-FINE!" Brickston managed to choke out his hands gripping Lilith;s again.
"But you...have to stop...CHOKING ME!"

Lilith new she'd finally managed to get the man's attention when his eyes widened and he stopped struggling momentarily. Perhaps now that he realised that it wasn't just his life on the line, that would actually make some progress.
"Fine...fine...F-FINE!"
"Much better," she said sweetly, her smile returning.
"But you...have to stop...CHOKING ME!"
Lilith immediately released him from her grip and stepped away from him, allowing him space to get back to his feet. It had taken far too long to reach the stage they were at now. Either he really didn't care all that much about his own life, or Brickston was incredibly stupid.
"The colt, please," she reminded him firmly. "Then we'll have a nice chat all about your little girlfriend."
