Micah watched Janaya carefully doing his best not to read too much into the girl; humans didn't much like when you pried uninvited and he had long since learned how to turn it off to grant them their pace to share instead of simply digging for the information on his own.
"You're right, I'm sorry."
"I know...and you're welcome," Micah responded with a faint smile.
"Thanks, for saving my life... I owe you one."
"Perhaps a cheeseburger one of these days but nothing more," Micah explained as he watched the girl brush at her face attempting to clear away the tears. Humans were a complex species; by far the most in-depth group his Father had ever created even more so then the very angels Micah saw as family.
Micah's attention snapped towards the sky as a loud crack of lightning sliced across. He had broken the rules and surely someone would notice it was all a matter of who and when. These things never much seemed to happen quickly or at all for some. The world around them on heaven and earth seemed to be twisted about so maybe just maybe this would be his free pass.
"If you don't mind me prying a bit exactly how did you come to be bleeding to death in your car?"

"I know...and you're welcome,"
Janaya gave the angel a wry smile. And here she'd been thinking that smart ass comments were reserved for demons. She wouldn't admit it, but she actually felt better for having vented her emotions. And the fact that it had been an angel was a bonus, she highly doubted Micah would go off and tell anyone that she had real feelings.
"Perhaps a cheeseburger one of these days but nothing more,"
"A cheeseburger or twenty," Janaya countered. The way Micah looked at the sky as it lit up with lightning, and the very obvious way he had saved her and tried to pretend he hadn't, led her to believe he had broken the rules for her. She hardly thought that was worth just a cheeseburger.
"If you don't mind me prying a bit exactly how did you come to be bleeding to death in your car?"
"Hmm?" she asked, opening the driver's side door. "I was hunting a demon." She pointed into the distance a little way, where the silhouette of a dead body could be seen. She hadn't had time to bury him what with the whole bleeding to death thing. "He managed to stab me before I got him. Hence the bleeding."
