Michael decided to let the subject of Bianca's parents drop. She had said all she could on that issue, as a human the hunter had the free will to choose her own path. The problem with her family was only the beginning anyways, the archangel just didn't know how to address the other other one.
"I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, and no, I'm not working for your parents."
It was obvious the girl was thinking something along those lines. Michael's blunt remark would either derail those thoughts, or convince the woman they were true. Father willing, it would be the former.

"Well that's good to hear." Bianca's hand went up to wrap hair around her wrist. It hurt a little that her parents weren't looking for her, but it didn't surprise her. They hadn't wanted anything to do with her so far.
"That's good that you get to switch things up a bit. Makes things more interesting. I'm a bartender. I guess that switches around a little."
Bianca switched positions in the chair and felt one of the deep scars on her right side tighten. It was from the results of the barbed wire Paolo had used. The gashes should have had stitches, but Ezra hadn't thought of that. Bianca wasn't sure if that was unfortunate or not.
"Although my job keeps me out a bit too late." Bianca let her right hand fall to her side, rubbing her fingers lightly against the mark while gesturing around the room with her left.

Michael might not be a healer like her brother Raphael, but she still caught the signs of pain in the woman's movements. Obviously not all of her wounds were fully healed. The archangel made a mental note to ask Raph if he could do anything to fix that.
"Bartender huh, you get in a fight recently?"
It might not have been the most direct way to ask about Bianca's injuries, but it was a subtle as Michael could manage. When she found Anna, she would have to ask the fallen angel for advice on how to talk to humans. The task was far more challenging than she remembered.
"You look like you could use a good night's rest," the angel commented dryly.

"Fight? No, this...." Bianca rubbed her side lightly, "I....got tangled up in some barbed wire a few years ago. The cuts never healed right."
That was as close to the truth as she'd said to anyone since the incident. And it was the truth-sort of. Even if it had been an intentional tangle on the other party's part.
Bianca flipped her hair back over her shoulders. She needed to wash it. She felt like she smelled like cigarettes.
"Are you from around here? I hope you're not from out of town and running around at this hour. It's easy to get turned around.

"Must have gotten tangled up pretty bad," Michael commented, knowing that Bianca was lying.
The angel took another drink from her cup, if only to give herself something to do. She was far more used to fighting than speaking, and the inactivity was begining to make her restless.
"No I'm from up north, my own little corner of paradise. I'm just passing through the area."

"Bad doesn't begin to explain it." Bianca laughed softly. It wasn't funny, but again it was true. And she most assuredly wasn't going into details about it.
"Paradise, huh? Now that would be awesome to find. I'm still holding out some day I can move off to the Keys and find my own little corner of paradise. Are you having any trouble getting around? I'm good with the area, I could help if you are."
Bianca picked up her cup and took a long sip. The coffee had cooled in the cup and it was not as good as it probably once would have been.

"Looks like time hasn't quite healed this wound yet." Michael commented. She hated not being able to get Bianca to open up more about her past, but she couldn't force the girl into the conversation.
"I wish you luck with that," the angel said when the human described her future plans, it was encouraging to see that Bianca had her eyes on something positive. It would help her move forward. "And thanks for the offer, but I'm leaving town before sunrise. I just stopped by for this."
Michael made a motion with her coffee, indicating that she had stopped to acquire caffeine, but the angel truly meant that she had stopped to talk to Bianca.

"Time hasn't begun to heal these wounds." Bianca was staring into her coffee cup. She was drifting off into another place. It was a place she preferred to avoid. She was relieving the entire sored event she'd gone through. And it was just as terrifying the 3000000 time through as it was the first.
"I wake up sometimes and I can still feel it. I dream about knives coming towards my eyes. And-."
Bianca glanced up. She was getting way too wrapped up in memory. She was certain the other girl didn't want to hear all of this.
"Sorry, I'm ranting. It's late, don't mind me. Anyhow, do you need any directions? Any suggestions you need? I can tell you a few local hangouts. Pretty attractive for young people."

"It's fine," Michael told Bianca as the woman apologized. "Nightmares are powerful things. They're hold over the mind can be hard to break, especially the ones with elements of truth."
The angel had experienced neither nightmares nor dreams, but has seen how they had impacted her charges. How long had it been since this girl had experienced a good night's sleep?
A sudden pang went through the archangel, alerting Michael to the fact that Gabriel had located Anna. She needed to leave quickly.
"Actually I need to get going now. Who knows what trouble my sister is getting into without me." She gripped Bianca's shoulder gently, infusing the human with enough angelic energy to ensure she would have a dreamless sleep that night. "It was nice talking to you, maybe our paths will cross again."

Bianca nodded. She figured it wouldn't have taken this long for the other girl to determine she was crazy.
"Yeah, nice talking to you." Bianca raised her head as a strange sensation went through her as the other girl touched her.
Weird.
She shrugged. She wasn't imaging that their paths would cross again. The other girl was probably now making a list of how out of her mind Bianca was. Oh well, Bianca was just going to have to mark herself down as being crazy and normal people didn't deal with crazy people.
