"I hope not. I haven't got another one at the moment. Are you alright, Charles?"
Matthew watched Charles carefully. He really hoped that didn't mean he would be the next meal. Never had any of his house mates touched him. But after tonight he felt he was lucky to be alive. He may not have been living in their world long but he had heard the whispers of Charles' wrath when angered.
"I'm fine. I just need some rest."
Charles pushed himself off the wall smoothly. "I'm going out. Watch him carefully."
Matthew watched as Charles approached, unrolling his sleeve and re-buttoning it. "I suggest you sleep in my room tonight." He kept still as the man rested a hand on his head. After a moment Charles lifted it before leaving the room.
He turned to look after the vampire before frowning and turning to look at the others.
"Well you really fucked it up this time Kane," he muttered to himself.

Emory didn't even register the others in the room as he continued to practically inhale his bottle of blood. By the middle of the bottle he was starting to slow slightly seeing as he'd gotten a rather large dose from Charles. The ancient blood was much better than what he was drinking now. He would definitely be healing faster than if he'd just gluggled a few bottles of the cold stuff.
The buzz in his ears was dying down as he approached the last few drops. His eyes slid open for a moment and he saw Matthew in the doorway as he slipped away. Charles was no where to be found so he assumed the other man had left as well. Licking the last drop from the rim of the drink he laid back on the bed.
He stared at the ceiling for a moment before closing his eyes, breathing heavily. He could still feel a presence in the room and it was an easy guess as to which housemate it was.
"Go check on Matthew Sam," he mumbled tiredly. "I'm fine now."

"I'm fine, I just need some rest."
Sam nodded, pleased she was not going to have another minor crisis on their hands. Now that Emory was drinking the blood, he would probably be fine. Matt... well Matt was unharmed, but she still felt terrible for scaring him so much. And Charles was fine. It was almost a win.
"I'm going out. Watch him carefully."
"Night," Sam said, nodding again before training her eyes on Emory.
"Well you really fucked it up this time Kane,"
"No, you didn't," Sam told him firmly, lifting a hand and touching Matt's arm comfortingly as he left the room. She knew she should follow him, he would need more comforting than that. But Charles had said to watch Em...
"Go check on Matthew Sam," she glanced back down at Emory as he spoke. "I'm fine now."
Samantha was unconvinced, but she did need to check on Matt. Nodding, she eased herself away from Emory and off the bed, placing a pillow under his head where her leg had been.
"I'll be right back."
Sam knocked on the door to Charle's room but did not wait for an answer before opening it gently.
"Mattie?" she asked, closing the door behind her. "Are you okay?"

Walking into Charles' room Matt closed the door and took a deep breath. Now that the danger was over he felt belated tears prick at the corners of his eyes. Brushing them away he headed for the bathroom and quickly washed his face.
He'd almost killed Emory. The vampire was the closest thing he'd had to a brother in his life and he'd nearly killed him.
"Mattie?"
Damn it. He should have known Samantha would have come looking for him.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," he called after a moment from the bathroom as he reached for a hand towel to dry his face.

Samantha frowned, not seeing Matt anywhere in the bedroom. Had he gone somewhere else? Sam could have sworn she hadn't heard him leave the apartment.
"I'm fine,"
Ah, the en suite bathroom. Crossing the room, Samantha leaned against the door frame and crossed her arms as she watched him towel his face. "I don't believe you," she said simply.
Matt didn't sound fine, there was something in his voice that had her unconvinced. Fine was a word that people seemed to be using a lot tonight, both Charles and Emory had also decided to attempt to underplay what they were really feeling.
"Now, why is it all my boys are lying to me about how they feel?" Sam asked thoughtfully.

Matthew paused in toweling his face to look at Samantha's reflection in the mirror. "We're not lying," he said before drying his bangs. "We just classify fine as different things."
Hanging the towel back up he walked past her into the bedroom. "I'll stop by the club tomorrow after school and get some more stock," he said. Turning he looked at Sam again. Shrugging a shoulder slightly he waved his hand, "Really Sam I'll be alright. Just make sure Em is okay. He needs someone checking on him more than I do."
